Gaspode got a reaction from jono in Derby County Administration (with the slight possibility of Liquidation still there)
Which is almost certainly why the statement released when we went into admin pointed out that we were the ONLY Championship club not to be granted the £8M+ loan to help deal with the impact of covid (thereby meaning we were more susceptible to the effects) - and also explains why the EFL are now back-tracking on their original statement that we didn't qualify for the money (due to the criteria that they set out) but rather that we didn't apply for it (more than likely because they told us in advance that we wouldn't get it).
The hows and why's of the loan are actually irrelevant though - the fact that we didn't get the money makes us an exceptional case and gives us grounds to appeal....

Gaspode got a reaction from OohMartWright in Derby finally accept 21 point deduction.
The thing is that it's not really a loophole - the clause is there to make allowances for unprecedented things impacting a club's ability to operate - they don't come much more unprecedented than a global pandemic that has killed millions and caused football matches to be played witthout crowds for over 12 months.....

Gaspode got a reaction from S8TY in Who would you like as new DCFC owner?
Actually there’s one thing that the majority who have voted for Ashley want and that’s a future for Derby County- all the other things you mention are ‘nice to haves’ for a club in a far better position than we find ourselves…..

Are you aware that Chad, Littleover, & Alvaston are included in the Derby city population figures? They’re all within the city boundary…..

Gaspode got a reaction from May Contain Nuts in Newcastle United takeover confirmed
People continually bang on about what great fans Newcastle have - no, they have a lot of fans, not great ones. They used to worship Andy Carroll - he didn’t demand to leave or refuse to play (Harry Kane anyone?) but left Newcastle when they decided to cash in on him - and yet the first time he went back they all booed him…
I saw some of them quoted this morning that they’d “got their club back” - not sure where they thought it had gone - at least Ashley turned up to watch them even if he wasn’t willing or able to pump in the big money needed to make them competitive. Quite how having a remote group with extremely dodgy views on human rights in charge rather than Ashley is “getting your club back” I’m not sure….

If Mel hasn't put the £80M into the club, then perhaps we still do own the stadium. It's all very well trying to show off how clever you are by getting round FFP, but has he actually paid the club the market value that he claimed?

Gaspode got a reaction from Angry Ram in The coronabrexit thread. I mean, coronavirus thread
Really? The BBC News (rightly or wrongly) are trusted by the vast majority of the country to deliver clear, balanced and unbiased information. As soon as they divert from that (as they frequently do with their 'correspondents' putting ascross opinion pieces as if they're fact), then they're no better than the Sun or one of the miriad of other partisan media outlets - yet the trust that the majority has means their word is taken as gospel and never questioned....

Gaspode got a reaction from Day in TalkPoo
They've gone out of their way to find thick ex-players to make controversial statements in order to generate clicks and additional listeners - and it's quite clearly working....it's a shame because they could be so much better
O'Hara probably needs help tying how own shoelaces; I've yet to see reports of Gabby Agbonlahor saying anything that wasn't complete and utter cobblers; and Cundy has a mis-spelt surname.....
