Certainly not hard done by. Just a lame Derby County performance in a game of such importance. The next two games now looking very difficult, based on Saturdays showing.

My original point was in response to someone who mentioned the foundations seeming to disappear at any given moment. I don't disagree with you that we've been very good in numerous games, but to me they just seem to be one-off games. Our good performance wasn't through a longstanding progression of play style being implemented throughout the season. Everything seems incredibly short term, which is why we lose games like yesterday - because there's no foundational play style to fall back on once the one-off game plan fails. Yes we were unlucky yesterday and could've drawn or won on another day, but the performance wasn't good either.

Once again, travesty is probably the wrong word. It implies we were hard done by which we weren't.

Agree.  He is here on a two year deal.  At the end of the two year, he and DCFC have no obligation to one another.
I hope he carries on until the end of the season, and decisions from both parties will clearly be made.  It will hardly be on a level with Brian Clough leaving.  More, that's a shame...anyway, who are we replacing him with?...

Probably lots of twists and turns yet. Nothing with Derby is easy, and here we are again without a centre forward, playing on Saturday. If we can overcome that hurdle I'll be much more confident about not putting these dates in my calendar.

Agree. I'd like to keep Joe, but his rushes of blood leading to two penalties have been odd. I feel his overall confidence and command helps the defence, meaning I'm extremely happy he's regained the shirt. And his game management when we've needed it has been excellent. But if he does want to leave he's not irreplaceable.
We got him for next to nothing, as was the same for Ryan Allsop who I thought a better keeper. It's a position where there is always another one along if you need.

I wish people would stop this snide picking on Diane Abbott. She made a gaff when she was suffering a diabetic blood-sugar problem which does mess with your thinking processes - one ,mistake - and the world has had its teeth into her ever since, going on for how many years? Think of the colossal number of gaffes from Bonzo Dog Johnson, let alone his blatant lies, yet no-one keeps taking him to task for much more serious "gaffes". The same is true for most of his many cabinet members who kept making mistakes, who continue to get away scot-free. Abbott may dress a bit oddly, but there is no excuse for continuing to do her down for one incident caused by by a health problem.

How do you force limited companies to share revenues with other limited companies? It's another voice at the table, ultimately a powerful one, but there is going to be a long-drawn out war before anything is decided.
For what it's worth, I can see why we would want to upgrade the goalkeeper position ahead of next season. Wildsmith has been good for us, often very good, but Vickers is clearly the number two in mind and had the number one shirt prior to his injury. It's not uncommon for teams, especially after promotion to League One, to upgrade their goalkeeper. Ipswich did it last season, where Christian Walton was outstanding - 23 clean sheets, 35 goals conceded in 46 games.... he hasn't started a league game this season.
Wildsmith was beyond excellent in our biggest game of the season, he deserves all the credit, but he's not been faultless this season.

After such a huge win last weekend PLEASE Derby can we not bottle it in this game. Please, just for once, can we actually see the job through and make it easy for ourselves.
This is exactly the sort of game we’ve had many times this season - a chance to really put the pressure on the teams around us when they’re not playing. And every time, it feels like, we’ve f***** it up with a pathetic half-arsed performance. It’s time for this team to get a grip, work like they’ve never worked before, and put Northampton to the sword. Show that strong character and personality, and show that they can see the job through.
We’ve bottled it wayyyy too many times from this sort of position in my lifetime. PLEASE Derby let’s make this season different and see it over the line. Do it for f****** B4! COME ON YOU f****** RAMS

Yes, it really is a case of a game at a time. Plenty of twists and turns and it will probably go down to the last couple of games. With Gayle out, our strike force is significantly depleted again. So Warney's immediate challenge is to find a solution for that problem.

All these stats leave me cold. If they win and we draw and the third team lose and the second win etc etc. If my aunt had b******* she’d be my uncle etc.   If we could predict accurately we would all be millionaires. Just take it a game at a time

I have a lot of respect for Pompey and Bolton and hopefully both will be with the Rams in the Championship next season.  Proper historic football clubs with a great fan base that have been grossly mismanaged over recent years.

Shame we didn't look at Taylor on loan from Luton when they were looking to get him to a League 1 club.  8 in 12 for Lincoln.  He's the one who does 100 metres in about ten seconds and made Cashin look like Wiley Coyote chasing Road Runner .  Must have been available. My suspicion is sentimentality won the day and we paid an additional loan fee for John-Jules.

We are certainly going to need something effective that's within a tight budget,  if we are in the ch'ship next season.

You'd have to take at least 4 million of that for promotion bonuses.  When Derby went to the prem last time they shelled out 13 million in promotion bonus, including those who'd played about 3 games or been on loan elsewhere all season.
After we'd cleared debt to the co-op of 20 million we had to pay on promotion as part of a guarantee on buying the club and paid back 2 directors -including Morris- who withdrew their loans early in panic, we had about a million quid left.  We'd be a bit better of this time by a few million.

I think we’d be even stronger if those two were available.
Bird for Hourihane especially. Hourihane’s passing, especially on the volley, is ropy. Ward is replacing his set pieces.
Saturday will be a real test of our formation. It has worked against three teams outside of the top slots but might be exposed by a good midfield.

Peterborough have a tougher next match at Portsmouth and then the next tough one is last match against Bolton.  I think they win the rest. That could be a game either need to win, or one could be playoff resigned and resting up.  Either way, I think we need 6 wins and maybe another point. Saturday is a massive game
