Keep at it! I would advise against a scattergun approach though.
There are all sorts of techniques available to help you think through what you are good/bad at. What your personality profile says about you. Leader/follower, risk taker or not etc. 
When I mentored young graduates (decades ago) I started with a simple chart. Where do you want to be in 10 years. Where do you NOT want to be in 10 years. Keep it general, then what do you enjoy/not enjoy. Does this match what you are good at.  Then go through random  vacancies (easier now than when you had to buy the Daily Telegraph) and do a gut feel yes/no. Eventually a pattern will emerge. 
Then go for something like that!  Good luck!
PS , a bit left field but with your knowledge of Middle East politics have you thought of the Army in a Staff type role.

I have asked the bank to put a "marker" on my accounts. This requires them to contact me directly if a new DD is attempted.
CIFAS seemed a sensible additional check, given what I could lose, and the fairly low cost for two years. I agree SSW should pay but the aggro to get them to do it is too great.
Incidentally TrueIdentitiy picked up that I had a data breach 9 years ago. I never knew and nothing resulted, but it shows how vulnerable we are.

I was advised today by South Staffs water that my identity details held by them were stolen back in August. Today I spent several hours adding extra security markers to my bank accounts, Credit reference agencies and the UK antifraud scheme.
Total pain and a small cost that I shouldn't have to go through.

I agree. First half I thought he was terrible then he got better--words at half time?  Trouble is I'm not sure what his best position is and we play him all over the place  so no wonder he seems a bit adrift at times. I've never been a huge fan of his but he needs a fair crack of the whip!

There is a ball sensor that apparently is accurate to a millisecond. It was also the one that "proved" Ronaldo didn't make contact for "his" goal. For off sides the software interpolates between frames 1/25 second apart to tell "exactly" who was off side when the ball was kicked.

I tried that once. Rang out for ages then cut off. Next time it bounced me back to an auto system and I never did get to speak to a human.
My issue was a screwed up installation, which I ended up fixing myself!

These new Bar-coded stamps: 
Firstly you can't use stamps you already have paid for (so they already have your money) or exchange them without a form you have to download and print.
Next the thing is massive using extra paper and adhesive. What for? Well apparently, if you can be bothered, besides the picture on the stamp you can scan (on your smartphone Grandma!) and see another Christmas picture. 
What bird-brain thought this little scheme up. No wonder the post costs so much.

He was pretty poor first half with poor control and a few misplaced passes. He was oddly better at left back than in midfield, which I didn't expect.
