Stearman 6 Got the job done. Cashin 6 Low key by his own standards; some stray passes. Bardell 6 Got possession and looked credible. Roberts 6 Injured early & went off. Forsyth 7.5 Thoroughbred. Oduroh 5 Nervous & unsure. Bird 6.5 Some great passes but expect more impact. Smith 6 Had a run out Thompson 7.5 Resurgent on the right. Great goal. Look up Thommo not at the ball. Dobbin 7.5 Career goal. Great passing & mobility. Collins 6. A bit of street football & saw yellow. Sibley 5 Blind alleys & poor decision making. Osula 7 Hare-like & a threat. McGoldrick 8 MotM Joy to watch. A Swiss Army knife of a footballer - has an app for every situation which does the trick. Slightly weird finger goal celebration: is he a Vulcan? He didn’t set the world alight but also he didn’t unduly panic in possession which he has on other occasions. He still looks physically like he should be in the U18s and it can’t be easy when you are so light against chunky gnarled professionals. Like Dobbin, he’s a work in progress. You don’t get into Man City’s academy without having something about you. He reminds me a little of a young Shaun Wright-Phillips and he turned out okay. Without doubt a talented footballer who came across as a confident & articulate young man when he joined. I’m very confident he’ll succeed at Derby as we all want him too. A good comparison is Liam Thompson- everybody around me so pleased for Thommo on his performance & goal & great to see him smile. He’ll be walking on air today. Rooney. 7. A couple of early glitches but overall another good display in a new position. Stearman. 6.5. Handled Tom Daley pretty well. Should have scored though. Cashin. 6.5. Looked a little rusty at first, but back to his usual self by the end. Bardell. 6. Didn't look out of place. Roberts. 6 Substituted early. Hopefully only precautionary. Forsyth. 7. Added calm assurance for an hour before departing without a single feather ruffled. "Forsythesque" is an actual thing now. Oduroh. 6 Looked quick and bright in brief cameo. Bird. 7. Stood up well to some harsh treatment and played some killer through balls. Crocked by a dreadful challenge that would have been a red card the other way round. Smith. 6.5. Instantly made us look more secure defensively. Thompson. 7.5. Best performance since last season. Reminded us what a good footballer he is. Excellent goal. Dobbin. 7.5. A real handful, GOTS contender, should have scored more but works his socks off. Collins. 6. Fit and rested for Friday. Sibley. 6. With the ball : little went right for him. Without the ball : one of his better performances. Stuck at it without getting frustrated. Osula. 7. A handful for the Torquay defenders, well taken goal, with more composure he could have had 3 or 4. McGoldrick. 8. A pleasure to watch him play the game. Don't think right back is for him though long term. Stearman - 6 - He existed Cashin - 6 - Run of the mill Bardell - 6 - Looked ok on his debut, although untested Robert’s - 6 - Good cross for the ridiculous own goal Forsyth - 6 - Not much to say Oduroh - 5.5 - Out of position, has pace but not much else at this point Bird - 6 - Steady Smith - 6 - Didn't have to do a lot when he came on Thompson - 6.5 - Well taken goal, nice to see some expansion to his game Dobbin - 7 - His finishing will frustrate at times, but he has attributes no one in the squad has. Worldy of a volley too. Collins - 6 - The less he dribbles with the ball the better Sibley - 6 - Actually looked better at left back in midfield, worryingly Osula - 6.5 - Played alright but really should've made more of a couple of situations McGoldrick - 7.5 - Played the second half with a cigar on Ellafella 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
