Wildsmith’s passing has been as dreadful as everyone else’s

You’d like to think people can see past some of the performances over the last 2 years when judging his character. He seems like a genuinely decent bloke.

I was at Chesterfield on that day after the Mafaway bus was redirected. I stayed in the home end whilst others escaped to the away end. I remember the home fans trying to suss us by asking where we were from. A local tipped me off that "Staveley" was the safest answer. As an aside Charlton won 1-0 with a cracking goal from some chap named Derek Hales !! (You can still see the goal on YouTube)

🤣🤣I must have been with you at the chesterfield game 6 or 7 of us went up to Bolton on train got half way & found out was postponed . Headed to chesterfield must have seen your lads in pub or something but we went game in their end behind goal few  schuffles etc marched round to away end etc I’m sure it was charlton though not orient 😃 . Ilson lads were always going Barnet as was really big game for them derby did play Chelsea same day but not many travelled . I wasn’t at Barnet but did attend the ilson v Enfield game famous for the green berets 🤣🤣🍺🐏 cheers

I did and nothing in his interview sounded like an excuse. Anything to get another dig at him will do for a few posters on here.

I'm I alone in not being too bothered about getting into the Premier League? As it stands, you can't challenge for the title without billions, and the idea of every season being a relegation battle doesn't fill me with joy. Brighton have an appealing model, focussing on buying young talent, developing them and selling on, but Southampton have shown how hard that plan is to maintain.  And the idea of becoming a consortium club making money for some faceless investment group fills me with dread.
For the time being, I just want to see sustainability, a thriving academy, and a strong community presence, and I get the impression that's the current focus. Championship football will come sooner or later.

The squad that day included two Argentinians, a Greek, a Dane, Norwegian, Jamaican, an Irishman, four Englishmen and a couple of Italians called Baiano and Eranio.
