  1. Just watching on TV and live for the Sheff United game I get the impression that Waghorn will be a vital part of this season.

when he comes on the team dynamic seems to change - maybe because of Washington coming on at the same time. But the whole ethos seems to become more attacking and more purposeful.

when match fit they could be a great starting partnership. Collins to the bench, m-l to left of a midfield 4 with Fossie left back (they seem a good partnership on the left with M-L pace covering when Fossie goes forward

They may well drop, but we'd still be one of the biggest (if not the biggest) club in terms of attendances and revenue by some margin compared to the majority of clubs in the division.

But we won’t have the biggest attendances if we dint go up this year. Welll be down to 12-15000 average if we stay in league 1

Why does that matter, the point was 'we're a fickle bunch'. I'm also old enough to remember a decent amount of Derby's history.

I’m old enough to remember attendances of under 15,000 in the promotion year 87. Fickle. If we dint go up this year attendances will fall and it will be even harder to get out of this division

How many people have called for him to be sacked? 3? 4?

Plenty more are concerned by what they seen and heard, but have been told we aren't allowed to point out any issues.

Not like you to do as you’re told.
If there’s issues then they need to be voiced -

  5. Last season we came close

    Close to playoffs

Close to top 2? Questionably. Had we been able to hold onto leads we would have gone up.

Warne sacked? After two games this season. Get real guys some of these threads just show the entitlement culture of current UK society. It’s going to be a hard slog to get promoted following administration. No matter what division you’ve just come down from.

defensively we’ve always been frail. I can’t remember many seasons where I was confident we’d not concede when noses in front. Even in promotion seasons.

I know we need goals, but we also need to stop gifting chances to the opposition.

I'm particularly looking forward to seeing yellow cards for those that hang around tippy-tapping the dead ball to prevent the oppo from taking a quick free kick!

One thing I will predict though... given the adoption of the multi-ball system... more spats twixt away players and deliberately slow "Ball Retrieval Operatives", or whatever it is they call Ball-Boys nowadays.

On the subject of on-pitch treatment, I see little improvement here.  They won't need to go off for the treatment if "A severe injury has occurred".  The ref will be no more qualified to assess the severity of the "injury" next season, than they were last season, so the player will still writhe around on the pitch as if they have been shot at point blank range, the physio will still come on, and the play will still be delayed!

Let’s face it a severe head injury should result in the player going off for a head injury assessment (with a temporary replacement)

football is so far behind other sports with this it’s untrue. The number of times a player goes for a header and is “challenged” by a player who just knocks him out of the sky without even looking at the ball. It’s luck there hasn’t been a serious injury from what would be a red card in rugby.

It won't have any effect on that, it's now becoming the norm for teams under the cosh, to take an 'injury time out'. This not only breaks up the opposition momentum, it also allows the coaching staff to have a couple of minutes with the players, restructuring or motivating their team. Something needs to be done about this.

Have water bottle stations behind the goal if players want a drink.

players can’t approach the bench or touch lines.

    like rugby do

Think he comes across as a great bloke, and absolutely gave his all for us at times, especially that Wednesday game.

However, if this is where we’re at in terms of signing attacking players it’s a pretty scathing insight to our recruitment at the minute.

I’d be absolutely fine with him as a 4th choice option, but with Washington yet to feature in a friendly, he’d be our 2nd choice going into the start of the season.

To say we needed another good striking option even before we lost Mcgoldrick, it’s really not looking all that promising going into this season. Obviously there’s still a few weeks left to bring players in, but it’s unlikely to be anyone of any real top quality is it?

We are league 1 surviving on free agents loans and paying league 1 wages to new signings. Always going to be a case of less than awe inspiring signings.

warne himself has said that if he paid £200000 for a player he has no wages left for any other signings.

it’s freebies and loans and build a team that fits together.

waghorn could well be a vital piece in that jigsaw - especially with the amount of crosses we are trying to put in the box

  9. We’ll the past three months match what happened in January 17 to July 2017. Not talked much about that period.  Lost my dad, separated from my wife, moved away from Derby and my son

Past three months list my new mother in law, my step son had life saving surgery and my wife had a cancer scare (thankfully Asthma not Lung cancer)

all I can say is short term stress but world breaking at the time

I just wonder whether (or hope that) there's an embargo on the news that a deal has been reached and that they'll announce it to us at PP tomorrow before K.O., so CK can enjoy our sychophantic cheers and love! ??

I can dream, so I will not tolerate ANY negative - or rational - responses! ?

Rick Parry to present CK with a golden shower on the pitch?

  11. I really dint think we’ll be ground sharing. This is CK’s message to Mel. We dint need the stadium immediately sell it or you’ve got a white elephant on your hands.

Could he sell to a developer - maybe buy demolition costs will be massive and then cost to develop the land. Dint think it will be too attractive a deal to be honest.

Its just as feasible that without the forensic investigation into amortisation Morris may well have been able to get his sale sorted without the need for administration.

We'd breached no rules with the ground and the EFL were happy with the players amortisation.

It was Gibson's hypocrisy over the stadium (he once shifted debts from his football club to another branch of his business empire) and Maguire's choice to go after Derby on a very minor point that had never been queried by the EFL, that forced Parry to use us as an example.

Morris was always going to be a target for threatening to upset the apple cart over TV rights. He was too arrogant to believe they could do him, but the establishment always closes ranks in the end.

Yes, its all down to Morris for pushing the limits, but I'm pretty sure that many other clubs would be dragged down if they received the type of in-depth scrutiny that we had.

Not paying HMRC was always going to stop any potential sale - too much debt. Morris destroyed any chance at all of us being sold when sold himself the ground and ran at substantial unsustainable losses.

Until Kieran Maguire starts tweeting every detail of their last 5 years accounts and Steve Gibson threatens to sue the EFL unless they act, then Stoke should be fine.

As I said on another thread - there were red flags suggesting the Morris was out of his depth business wise running a football club and as a body is fans ignored it because he was spending money and getting away with circumventing rules while others got caught.

imagine if KM hadn’t done what he did Wes be even further in the red.

I'm pretty sure we aren't allowed to offer anyone a contract until out of administration.

Is it nut that we are under a transfer embargo still, where all signings, registrations and extensions have to be approved by the EFL? We have no money can only just afford to finish the season and as yet not agreed business plan for the future. Be patient

You're wealthy enough to appoint a Chef for your meals, The Chef gets to choose what you eat, He serves you Sushi and Salad, You don't like that and tell the Chef you want Pie and Chips, The Chef says he's in charge of cooking...you sack the Chef for failing in your choices.

It's the same with a D.O.F. the Manager HAS to work with the player/s of someone else's choosing, If the D.O.F. gets to choose the Manager then things could work, In England the Manager is the focal point.

The chef should be creating a menu from the dishes you want to eat. That’s his job. The DOF should be providing signings from those selected by the manager.
