I think Leicester will move up the league now, too much talent in their team. They won’t threaten top 10 but they’ll be comfortably clear of relegation.
Hammers will move up the league, Bournemouth may drop down, Everton looking solid, Leeds are better, Villa and Wolves could struggle but they have a lot.

Im genuinely struggling to see which teams are going to bail out the red dogs!!

I think we know who the most ill prepared team for the premier league was and we only had 2 bob and a conker to spend to sort it out, not £150m.
You didn’t need to sign 23 players. Your media friends have been trotting this one out trying to justify it but your squad was bloated last season with players like Harry Arter, Carl Jenkinson, and Lyle Taylor (isn’t he still on your books?) all on decent money and nowhere near the squad, there were others who I can’t remember. The worst is of it is you signed all these players and didn’t address your defence, everyone knows Cook Worrall and McKenna are not premier league quality. Niakhiate being injured was a blow but we don’t really know how good he is.
Forest are a complete and utter shambles right now and it’s all down to your owner, 6 managers in 5 years (soon to be 7), 130 players in 5 years. You were lucky last season in you got Cooper who was the best manager available, the stars aligned and you got promoted despite being badly run. The owner does stand behind his debts and pay his bills I’ll give you that but that’s the only difference (quite a big difference) from our disaster of an owner, I don’t expect Maranakis will leave you in the same position.
Forest would’ve been better off signing 12 or 13 players, players Cooper wanted that could build on the culture and feel good factor he built last season and probably spend £80-90m, you would make a better fist of it had you done it this way and if you did go down be much better placed to bounce back. As it is, Cooper is going to be sacked (bad decision but inevitable as you say), a new manager comes in and has the same problems. Seeing Benitez linked and Dyche, can’t see them getting the best out of your flair players of which you have so many, and they’ll probably need to spend another £50m to sort out the defence.

Going to be interesting to see what happens. Obviously I’d love to see it continue to implode and you face FFP problems that would be a nice irony. The World Cup break might be to your advantage.

Missed most of the game today, grafting on our old house in gamston ahead of getting new tenants in. Managed to get the last half hour on RD while driving and doing a tip run. Great goals especially the second one, brilliant from Max. Pleased for Collins, said all along the goals will come with him. Didn’t look like we created loads but created enough, again lots of situations where we don’t make the right final decision, but brilliant we restricted them to so little. Enjoyed Warnes post match interview, simple uncomplicated knows what he wants but we got an insight into him that he doesn’t have one system or one way of playing, said no way can we play with wing backs all season given it’s such a tough position to play with the physical effort required. Good solid start, couldn’t ask for any more.
Question for those who went, was McGoldrick in Cambridge with the squad today? He lives near me and when I was off to Aldi post match I’m sure I saw him out running which means hopefully his injury isn’t that serious. If it wasnt him then his double also lives in Bramcote/Chilwell.

I just want to say how lucky you are to have Paul Warne as manager. I've supported the millers for 69 years. Obviously, I've seen managers come and go during that period. As far as I'm concerned, and many other fans Warne is the best manager we've had.
Like Derby fans we went through some dark times. Administration points deducted, lost our ground, forced to play in Sheffield in an athletic stadium. No atmosphere, 4 years in the 4th division.
Paul has many qualities. Excellent staff management, a workaholic. He's articulate, honest and will live and breathe Derby County.
I thank him for all the memories, 3 Wembley wins 3 promotions and I wish him well and as a consequence wish the Rams well. I've never had a second team, but for the first time Derby County will be my second team. I look forward to seeing Paul succeed.
Hopefully Derby will be promoted and we survive in the championship and look forward to see you at the New York stadium.
    All the best.

48 hours from now, I am confident we’ll be celebrating our first away win of the season.
And to be honest, that’s all that matters. We want to win. I think winning football can be played in many ways. In our position, we can’t afford to be so stubborn. We should embrace change.
Personally I can totally understand the excitement from the club and from local media. We have a proven manager with tangible achievements at this level. What is there not to be excited about?
Warne knows what works at this level and how to win football matches at this level. If he has to make us tougher, meaner, more physical, more athletic, more direct, more difficult to play against, so be it.
Personally I couldn’t care less for style points. I want to win the actual points.

I can accept that not everyone likes the tippy tappy stuff, but please don't translate that into us not creating chances, because the stats from every game this season suggest we were creating chances.
Now  if you'd said we weren't converting them, then that I'd understand.
Or even that the chances were harder to take because the opposition have much more time to set themselves up to defend them because of our slow build up play.
But not creating chances? Not true.

England were actually good last night barring a 15 minute spell, should’ve been leading at half time, take Maguire and Pope mistakes out we win the game, they also weren’t bad against Italy.

Nice to see Clowes not coming in with any preconceptions or prejudices, publicly supporting one of his staff whilst taking time to form his own balanced opinion on matters.

    Hi guys
My nephew, Jake passed away on August 12th aged 23. Despite being dealt a bad hand he enjoyed life to the full possessing a sharp, dry wit and a fondness for dressing well - the other thing we had in common ? was our love for Derby County!
Many of you will recognise Jake, a life-long season ticket holder in the West Stand attending matches with his Dad.
His family are orchestrating a minutes applause at the 23rd minute during the Port Vale home match on Saturday October 8th.
Extended family will be in attendance and there will be a brief write up about Jake in the match day programme.
These tributes are becoming more common, but I think that because they are often not official and fan-led they are even more poignant - and it would be a great gesture for one of our own.
Assistance in spreading the word from members of this forum would be so very much appreciated.

But on the balance of probabilities @nottingram is correct, the clear chances in the away games so far, if that level continued we’d score and probably several. just like last season you could play those games again and we wouldn’t score because we were creating absolutely nothing away from home.

Just to point out some facts:
Firstly getting on your high horse on debts, Derby has been treated no differently to any company that goes into administration, if anything due to the EFL rules we’ve been treated harsher.
A club is only worth what someone is willing to pay. If we had paid off all the debt then you would’ve been looking at an £80m purchase for a club worth at best £30m. Not going to happen and our debts being too high is why we nearly went under because no one would pay what was necessary. All down to one man who we’re now well rid of.

As it was, Clowes still bought the club for £52m, significantly over the odds but necessary to settle a chunk of the debts and comply with the EFL rules on insolvency to avoid points deductions.
HMRC got back c.2/3 of what was owed them, that is one of the highest proportions ever received back by HMRC in a football administration, for context Leeds paid HMRC 8%.

Any transfer fees we owe are part of agreed stage payments which were part of the original deals. The fact we didn’t pay off all debt means we are working to a business plan the EFL have approved, a plan we are well within. Furthermore we now have good relations with the EFL Wycombe Middlesbrough et al. We’re a well run club again and debt free.

130 players in 5 years, 5 managers in 5 years £150m spent and second bottom of the premier league doesn’t look like a well run club to me. You got lucky last season you stumbled across Cooper and the playoffs were weak. Only difference between us pre-Clowes and you is you got lucky in the playoffs, oh and Maranakis pays his debts whereas our owner didn’t (unbeknown to us). Let’s see what happens if you stay up it looks ok for the time being, if you don’t then you’re facing big problems, with FFP if nothing else. Personally, I hope it all implodes as you lot need a lesson in being humble.
