Setting off in a minute. My lad and brother can’t make it so I’m on my own and it’s my birthday! I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else, I can’t wait.
The benefit of getting a single ticket is I’ve managed to get in the block behind the dugouts, so looking forward to a good view of Gareth Ainsworth’s locks flowing in the breeze.

    Well, I'll spill.
I already knew the man I called Dad wasn't my biological so knew I wouldn't have any DNA from that side. However my mother refused to open up about the biological father. Anyway, last Thursday, along with being the day after I got back from Crete, the day of my Gran's first birthday since she died in June, and the day HRH Elizabeth passed away.... I found out I have 4 sisters and 2 brothers I never knew about. More trauma was discovering that one of those sisters died a few years ago and I was actually surprised how much that hurt. I have been speaking to my two younger sisters and one younger brother over the last few days. My biological father is alive and well, although I haven't yet been able to bring myself to speak with him yet. It's a bit too heavy right now.

I hope that’s not a derogatory term for Mr. Clowes.
The same Mr. Clowes that saved our club from the brink of non existence!

I got so excited starting a thread I forgot to say why. I achieve one of my bucket list objectives on Saturday, being part of a hospitality package - 71 seasons after I first went to BBG. Haven’t always been able to attend regularly but have remained a half or quarter fan and followed us faithfully.
My youngest was 50 this year and a well off friend bought him a hospitality package - so, as well as a meal, we get to sit in the director’s box. So, he’s now able to do as he promised and he doesn’t even have to pay for it!
I’m so excited and it’s taken me so long to type this, someone has probably got in before me to start the thread.
    P.S. I hope the food’s better than last night’s football  ?

    Didn't understand that at all.
Faffing around at the back as usual but almost no attempt to play through midfield pivot so ended up just going long diagonals (after obligatory faffing) to players who can't win headers.
If we're going long then you have to play Fozzy as he's the only one who wins headers.....or Curtis in last minute desperation mode

Knight and Smith would be a better option in the middle of the field than Bird and Hourihane imo.

I beg Rosenior to stop playing Bird and Hourihane as a midfield two.
It hasn’t looked good at any point so far this season. So unbalanced.

I didn’t know that. That is tough.
I noticed the Olivia newton john tribute in the drums as well. That was a nice touch.
when Dave introduced Shane as he’d never seen anyone hit the drums harder, I thought it was hyperbole, but Jesus those drums new they’d been hit. It was an interesting rendition of My Hero, I’d have that at my dads funeral all day long, and it’s always struck me as a not a dry eye in the house kind of song in those circumstances. But there was so much energy behind it thanks to those drums that I almost didn’t recognise it at first. I love how most foo fighters songs can be played with different levels of energy and almost mean completely different things. You can get hard versions of ever king or soft acoustic versions, and they’re almost two different songs. And then they can mix them up and switch between styles mid song. I love foo fighters live for that, cos you never really know what you’re going to get. You can be totally used to hearing a song the way it was recorded on the album, and then you get this completely different live version.
I love the fact that all these big rock stars, covered in tattoos and long hair, dressed in black and raising hell, are all in absolute awe of the likes of Brian may, Paul McCartney and Stewart Copeland, who really don’t fit that same mould. I’ve got a friend who’s parents own the farm next to Roger Daltreys, and he pops in for cups of tea!
and I’ve just noticed, all these legends have really boring ordinary names. Brian, Roger, Paul, Stewart and Keith. You wouldn’t call your kid Keith and expect them to grow up to become an absolute legend of rock.

I went to the New Forest for the first time a few weeks ago and loved it. Loads of good walks and the free range horses and donkeys were pretty cool. We were in Brockenhurst, very pretty village with nice pubs, restaurants, independent butcher and bakers etc. It was about an hour’s drive to Bournemouth.

Sounds like you had a hell of a mission to get there! We felt so lucky to be part of that, to see all those amazing artists was one thing but the emotion, warmth and love was incredible.
Sorry to hear about your Mum. I did eulogies at both my parents’ funerals and it was so tough, but I actually really enjoyed their funerals, especially my Dad’s. I spent the day and evening talking to all his old mates and hearing stories about him. I guess that must have been what it was like for the family yesterday times a million! It must have been amazing for them to be with all Taylor’s mates and see how many people loved him. And Shane did him proud on My Hero.
It was Times Like These that really got us. Did you know Dave lost his Mum a few weeks ago as well? I’m amazed he held it together as well as he did.
