Which goal scoring opportunity did it stop? Sharp no longer has the ball at his feet when he’s fouled, so how is he supposed to have a clear goal scoring opportunity?

Wow so unlucky hitting the post at the end. Definite pen. Was the sun in his eyes and he's trying to shade them?
But never a red card for me. That has to be appealed. Sharp played the ball out to the left wing and then Kelle fouled him. Defenders back and Kelle also with plenty of time to get back. Not a goal scoring opportunity. Sharp conned and intimidated the ref.

The ball had been passed wide and defenders were coming across to cover. Roos had to make a challenge (after putting himself out there) but it wasn't a clear goal-scoring opportunity.

We gave him stick during the game and then he gives it back after he's scored, seems pretty fair. The stuff after the final whistle and in this interview just makes him seem a nasty sod.

Just seen the highlights. Clear penalty, no argument there. The sending off : firstly, I'd like to pause when the pass is played to check Sharp was onside. Assuming he was, I can only assume the ref decided it was denial of a clear GS opportunity because it was a defender covering the goal and not the keeper. I'd like to get another ref's opinion because I doubt we'd have got it and I've seen similar only given yellow. But we keep giving poor refs those chances to make harsh decisions.

I don’t think it was a red but I’d probably be screaming blue murder if we hadn’t got it if the roles were reversed so hard to complain too much. Whether we’d have got it if the roles were reversed is a different question and I’m pretty sceptical of that
Daft by Roos but never mind.

    Ref did at first!
I thought by the time Roos clipped the guy the ball had been passed wide and there was one defender coming over. Thought the ref took too long and was 'persuaded'.

He'd already played a pass by the time Roos fouled him so it wasn't a denial of an obvious goalscoring opportunity. Definitely not a red.
Rash decision from Roos to come out though.

As Wayne said, it was cruel but that's football. Just want to applaud everything he said about the players and fans being brilliant.
Really good to see Bielik there leading the bounce.
So unlucky to hit the post twice but at least we created the chances and we played well enough to win.
Away fans - you were brilliant as always. All of us owe you so much.
Players and Wayne - you heroes! Thanks for your super human effort today, your resilience, loyalty to the club, and bravery in the face of adversity.
Thanks also to the rest of the team at DCFC who Wayne says are all pulling together to achieve the best outcome we possibly can.
A huge ? to all the fans on the forum who have shown such love and support for our team! COYR!

Because he was being employed by MM does that mean he should be barred from criticising him ? Employment is a two way straight and on that MM hasn't exactly done his part with his completely inadaquate amouunt of communication to the staff. Thing is what did Rooney say that was so wrong yesterday, he was critical of Mel's behaviour in recent times and critical in particular of his communication to his staff after being asked directly about it in an interview whilst also commending MM for the money he'd put in and that it was time to move past him. Everything he said was within the realms of reasonable professional criticism.
It should be also said that on the other hand that MM (in the brief appearances he's made) has made comments that are thinly veiled criticism towards Rooney.
Is this accurate, especially the last line? He said something to the effect of "We need to move past him" not that he was glad he was gone right ? In my opinion it was very different tonally than what you are trying to represent here. The comments about insincerety and dishonesty were about MM's speech to the staff and his interview in particular not necessarily about the guy in general (although I'll concede that isn't much of a stretch).
Honestly I can't help but feel Rooney's comments were perfectly in the realms of reasonable about an individual, robust maybe but from everything that's going off at the club it's not exactly uncalled for. I can think of plenty other managers that would have absolutely torn into MM here.

It’s a weird hatred he’s developed. I saw a Boro fan on Twitter justify it because “we cost them promotion”, how exactly did we do that? By finishing one place above them?
What about Villa who also broke the rules, but got promoted, are they not being targeted because they finished 1 place higher? He clearly sees us as an easy target and has done for a while.
He seems to be trying to use a vendetta against us to justify his club’s failings. I thought he’d be happy enough to wave us goodbye out of the trapdoor of the league but no, this is low even by his standards.
They were relegated in 2017 and had parachute payments for three years, yet it is our spending that is the reason… right.
If the roles were reversed, I would be outraged by our conduct. I always thought it was just a Morris v Gibson thing, but now Morris has gone he’s decided to go for the every day people with mortgages to pay, and the fans who just want to go and watch their team play football. His conduct is quite embarrassing to be honest.

Odd that Gibson isn't sueing Villa, who came roaring past both us and Boro from the bottom half of the table after overspending massively in that particular season, and who also sold their stadium to their owners.
Someone might think it's not really justice he's interested in.

Here we are, administrators in, massive points deduction, an estimated £50m or whatever in debt, unable to pay wages. And then we read in the Teesside Gazette that Steve Gibson is suing Derby County. https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/middlesbrough-Derby-rooney-mel-morris-21660410
His gripe is that Mel sold the stadium to another of Mel's companies (accepted as OK by the League because not every club owns their stadium and you can't force a club to) and that Derby loaned Matt Clarke when Gibson wanted him to go to Middlesbrough.
Of course claims such as these are manifestly absurd and would normally be laughed out of court. But the problem is it's inconceivable that the Derby Administrators can also afford to pay lawyers to fight the Middlesboro Chairman. Equally, it's inconceivable that Derby could afford any additional fines the courts might impose.
The sole purpose of this can only be to ensure the end of Derby County as a football club. Nothing less. The entire football world including honest Middlesbrough fans should be outraged by this behaviour and condemn it in the strongest possible terms. The club can't afford to fight this, so it's up to us fans to shame Gibson into stopping this despicable course of action.

Just been watching Sky sports news and what hit me was the irony of 2 topics of their program this morning.
First they were waxing lyrical over 'Liverpool's' future superstar wonder kid, Kaide Gordon and within minutes were discussing the demise of our club. They didn't mention at all the fact that Liverpool virtually 'stole' him from us.
How unfair is the system whereby a club has invested heavily in its academy, loses a player worth 10s of millions for a pittance. Nevermind the rights or wrongs of how Derby have got in this mess with overspending elsewhere, we have also spent money in the right place to develop a talent worth tens of millions of pounds, but without getting the reward.
No offense to Kaide or to Liam Delap, but if they had had the interests of the club at heart, like Jude Bellingham at Birmingham, we would be a lot better off. Jude Bellingham waited until his 17th birthday before signing professionally for the Blues, who then immediately sold him to Dortmund for £25M. You can't blame our youngsters because they may have picked up a career ending injury before their 17th, but you can blame the football system which allows this to happen.
So because of the different attitudes of three 16 year olds, Blues are plus £25M and Derby plus £2M when it should be plus £50M.
Derby's academy should have been able to clear our debts, but the system has prevented it.

Mel’s explanation of what we’re doing was pretty terrible. He either didn’t understand it properly himself, or he was massively oversimplifying beyond the point of being useful.  The key thing is (as far as I understand it), we’re not really saying the players value drops most in the last season, we’re saying our ability to sell them does.  A subtle distinction maybe, but it makes all the difference - under FRS102, we’re losing the ability to profit from the disposal of that asset so it gets amortised away.
And it doesn’t matter what KM thinks about the accuracy of transfermarkt, the Disciplinary Commission found that our method of valuing the players was reliable and systematic enough for the purposes of FRS102, and the League Appeal Panel found in our favour for all of the EFLs appeals in that regard. Not to mention our accountants, auditors etc signing off on it.

We weren’t just relying on one website either, we were apparently getting valuations from multiple agents and multiple websites, to try and come up with an independent valuation, I.e not one that we were tweaking to fit our needs. And honestly, is it *that* different to valuing property by getting estate agents to value it and cross-checking similar properties on Zoopla etc?
(usual caveats about whether we were actually doing what we claimed to be doing etc)

I agree that a few journalists and some opposition fans have previously and do still flag up how Leicester got to where they are, but the orthodoxy is they're a model for everyone to follow. I don't think I've come across a single Leicester fan who thinks they did anything wrong.

No, I was referring to the year they got promoted and tried to cover-up their FFP breach by creating an "imaginative" marketing deal that allowed their owner to inject a further £10M into the club to mitigate the overspending that helped them gain promotion and everything that followed. They accepted an EFL fine eventually, years later, after initially contesting the legality of the FFP rules and threatening to take the EFL all the way through the Courts. But now pundits and fans alike refer to them as " a model club" - it's like a bank robber who goes 'straight' but never has to pay back what he's nicked.
