One blindingly obvious thing from yesterday is that we only have one forward who has the control of the football - McGoldrick
Collins runs to block a clearance near a corner flag which is lovely if you are 4-0 in front, it’s not his fault.
we need forwards who can control a football and yes pass it to a teammate - the likes of Chris Martin got his usual consideration when he became available but was dismissed because he can’t run around much, I prefer someone who can do something with the football. We are in league one our centre forward needs to be strong in the right areas. Whilst the others can fit in around that.- Steve How Hard?, RoyMac5, CBRammette and 2 others

He's probably not overly keen to have his loan cut short, just to come and sit on the bench... particularly when our own fans refer to him as "The big tall young Pole"!
I didn’t want to mis spell his name ?

You ok? Forsyth was absolutely dreadful at LB - shouldn’t have been there mind
It’s on the game he played second half as well !
-
The more you watch Collins the more I think the big tall young Pole should be on the bench as he would cause the opposition problems
-
-
Well that was rubbish wasn’t it !
wildsmith - unlucky and still shouldn’t be beaten at his front post
smith - he was awful to be honest - very poor game
Davies - not confident it seemed but no worse than any of the others
Cashin - worse I have seen him play - didn’t win headers, knocked of the ball and taking way too many chances lately
Forsyth - he did ok considering what was going on around him
Bird - did nothing positive to be honest
Hourihane - just as Bird
Mendiz - nothing to work with I hope he isn’t injured
Sibley - nothing to work with but could have got himself involved
Springett - out of his depth
Collins - he just not very good is he
subs - McGoldrick - should always start at home - mistake not starting in my mind
Knight - should always be playing if available
Roberts - did well
Dobbin - did little
Barkhauzen - better than Spingett
we had absolutely nothing in midfield and next to nothing up front putting silly pressure on a defensive line that looked indecisive
Throw ins - until McGoldrick and knight came on not once did anybody come for a throw in
we were dreadful and we didn’t help by not selecting our best players

Agree about White, but I thought Springett did enough last Saturday to get another run.
I like Barkhuizen and Mendez-Laing (especially) but both looking a bit jaded and I'd keep one of them fresh for Peterborough. Opens the door for Dobbsy or Springett.
I would always have Mendiz- Lang starting against the so called weaker teams as he generally destroys them creating at least 2-3 very decent chances whilst after 60 minutes he is usually completely done and needs replacing.

I don’t think we are ready to take him back yet unless he asks of course ?

A Forest home defeat was long overdue. They’ve picked up so many lucky points at the City Ground to give them a fighting chance.
With the teams below them still averaging less than a point per game, Forest are still in a decent position with a winnable home game against Wolves next.
Failure to beat Wolves, lose at Villa and then that Leeds away game becomes huge.
That’s what I have seen from my biased viewpoint - they have been so extremely lucky in so many of their home points that they have acquired - deflections for a goal, opponents missing penalties, opponents missing open goals, opponents hitting the woodwork etc etc - mind you look at that appalling Wembley final where VAR appear to have been bought and sold for a Greek Villa.
Maybe it’s just been good fortune and without Johnson who has done well they simply don’t try to score goals but hope to scramble one and fluke not letting them in. They must have been fairly depressing to watch but at least they haven’t spent £250 million on transfer fees and committed to double that in wages to be paid.

Never mind. He can get a job turning milk to yogurt with that sultry glare
Lose the next two and they will sack him in my opinion - then again it’s an international break so he might not get another game

Wigan also fail to pay players again for the 4th time this season !

Lets all talk about ADMIN .. when now we have left it .
Let it go .
Personally I don’t read threads that might annoy me maybe you could just ignore this one but it’s relevance is high because we do not want to return to what we have experienced but other clubs may well start to suffer or be allowed not to suffer and people are interested.

Posh weren’t flying when they got dumped 0-3 at home to Cheltenham on Saturday
Superb goals by Cheltenham if you haven’t seen them on TV - they would beat any team

Interestingly three of our four wins against top half sides came under Liam - Posh, Wycombe and Barnsley at home.
Under Paul Warne, we have only beaten Bolton in the top half.
Our record under Paul Warne against top half sides is W1 D5 L4
One win in ten.
I hope we’re saving our wins against the better sides for the playoffs.
Those wins under Liam were all very fortunate as well in many ways from what I remember but it doesn’t matter who is in charge we have the players that we have and finishing in the play offs would be an excellent achievement if that’s where we finish.

I think we are slightly better than Bolton.
But on recent form, plus our game against Barnsley, I think shows they are a better side. They looked far fitter than us, more aggressive and switched on. They have shown they can also beat the better sides, something we have struggled to do.
Our best away win of the season is Port Vale in 14th.
We haven’t beaten anyone in the top half away, while our home record against top half teams reads W4 D4 L1. It seems like we’re flat track bullies with an outstanding record against crap teams but against the teams currently in the top half we have only won 4 from 17 games.
Our overall record against the top half teams is W4 D7 L6. That isn’t good at all.
If we have our best players playing in their best positions we can beat everyone
-
We are playing in the third division - I expect to beat everyone - concerned about no one !

For those with a sense of humour when was the last time the two at the top of the championship were both in an embargo ?
Bonkers isn’t itBurnley and Sheffield United ?♂️

To be fair we had to cobble a squad together that first season down under restrictions, not as tight as yours but again it was no fees and a wage cap so I have nothing but admiration for what you've managed so far.
It’s not bad with a 35 year old centre forward and a slightly younger one ( collins ) the spare forward, who runs in the wrong direction mostly. Then again they wouldn’t let us have a centre forward last season in case we won games - I hope you win the league and get back in the football graveyard of the championship, maybe we can join you.

Huddersfield are apparently considering going into Administration due to a deadlock selling the club - they have a short period of time to fit it in this season ( - 12 points) as they look odds on for relegation
Reading seem due the suspended -6 points
Wigan seem due the suspended -3 points
It’s great being a championship club isn’t it !
EFL due to be busy with their statements by the end of March

Burnley seem to be the next in line. Even though the transfer window has closed
So they can’t sign anyone until July 1st when they are in the premiership then as it stands currently - great ?

Yes do take on board what you're saying.
It's the root cause that never needs to be forgotten though - why was Morris intent of finding some Byzantine method of circumnavigating the FFP rules for then the EFL to be caused to give it closer scrutiny - and always comes down to the financial mismanagement of the club as the key instigator in all this.
I haven't seen many other football clubs having to go to the lengths of effectively selling their grounds back to themselves to get around their owners making a total cack of its finances.
Stoke, sheff Wednesday, Aston Villa spring to mind

Pick your best players in their best positions and play with a plan rather than hope and your chances improve a lot generally
