If it’s Appleby, then a “wealthy man with a sports background” could well be David Tepper or someone of that ilk. As I’ve said before, I do hope that someone like that would be willing to go ahead immediately, knowing that their lawyers would make mincemeat of Boro and Wycombe in a court of law.

Five live has implied said person is Jez moxey. Hoskins sounded almost adamant boro and Wycombe don’t have cases on talkSPORT (as adamant as a admin can sound)

Absolutely - what are your details?! Great to get into business with you. I’ll set up the Twitter account and go with

‘Dear Rams fans, I’m about to put in a 65M bid via an unknown backer, will have this all tied up in 48 hours. Don’t foresee any hiccups. SINCE I WAS YOUNG, DLF, BOMBARDIER TRAINS’

Three bids on the table despite the position with HMRC. One of the bids involves Gadsby - like him or loathe him won’t let club go to the wall. Yet seen comments that we’re miles away from a takeover and it looks like liquidation. Honestly some people - get a grip! There is nothing in Jim’s post that Indicates they won’t name a preferred bidder next week and if things were so negative then why would they tell the whole squad and staff what’s happening as Rooney confirmed the other day?! Previous comms has just been with Rooney.

Honestly think people just see what they want to see rather than take what is said.

I thought I was going mad. Saw the tweets last night and come on here this morning and seen so many negative comments. It took me 4 months to buy my house, it was a straightforward chain etc etc - I’m not sure why people seem to think this process would be quicker than it is. Not only is it complicated by admin but by us not owning the stadium etc so many spinning plates. I think the fact they’ve told the squad to expect a preferred bid to be announced next week and that talks with HMRC have been very positive - how are people then concluding liquidation it is?!

Close but not that close then... Next week at the earliest, then it's Chrimbo.... Oh when will this ever end???

Tbf their last update did say preferred bidder by end of December so next week is well within that timeline.

Can you imagine if it just turns out to be someone completely left field.

And our preferred bidder is….. Brenda from east Somerset, she likes walks on the beach, her rams winning on the road and her men talk dark and handsome.

Preferred bidder was supposed to be selected in three to four weeks. That was about six weeks ago.

looks like three to four weeks is the new 48 hours.

Yes but wasn’t that window essentially extended because it took the EFL so long to finally sort out the points deduction?

B&W Together tweeted yesterday preferred bidder should be by end of next week.

Rooney in his presser was talking about starting Liam Thompson tomorrow. Would that not go beyond the 25 player registered limit?

YESSSSS is that what he said?!  - wanted Thompson to start all season (understand why he couldn’t) seen him play two or three times and he reminds me of a billy gilmour type. Think he’ll have a big future and hope if he does play tomorrow it goes well! Bird shinnie and Thompson midfield could really control games.

I thought we were denied access to the Covid money because we hadn't applied for it within the allocated time frame?

On Mel’s infamous radio Derby interview post admin - he implied the reason we didn’t get that loan is because he couldn’t guarantee the EFL we would be able to pay it back - therefore we didn’t apply for it - so ultimately yep we didn’t apply in the timeframe!

Unfortunately at the end of the day he doesn’t win enough football matches. His win rate is just above Phil Brown.

He also has a combined CB pairing of almost 80 and the best he’s been able to do is bring in a striker who can’t score to compete for a spot with another 35 year old.

Phil brown on the other hand had Tommy smith, idiakez, Seth johnson, michael johnson etc. There’s a lot more context to these comparisons than simply results. Wayne has not had a fair chance at even remotely putting his own team together.

He will however be under a lot of pressure if he is our manager next season in league one to finally be measured on results - and I won’t be surprised if after say 8 games we don’t look like we are in the top 6 form, there will be a lot of people calling for him to go.
