Was he? I remember him being very disappointing. Went to Perth Glory after 30 games for us which kinda proves the point.

Looking at that YouTube video what stands out for me is that it seems he's very clear in what he wants to do - win the ball and move it quickly to someone else with simple but well-paced passes. I think that's perhaps where the Jake Buxton similarities are being drawn as he was similar in that way. Personally I like it when players have that mentality. I think that's what TBE drilled into players - he'd tell when what they're good at and focus on that. For example, there was no point in asking Asanovic to defend... or Sturridge to do anything other than be super quick! ?
When DPFG first signed, he did the same thing - just won it and gave it to someone. Then, in later seasons, for some reason he thought he could actually play football and hence the DPFG moniker...

Well I feel a bit silly now.
I mentioned it to the wife last night and she said 'I put it ion my jewellery box when we came back for sake keeping after you asked me to look after it you stupid top hat'
She then went upstairs and brought it down.
So...er....anyway, for me it would be a Roy McFarland shirt I had.

Watched derby since 1968 and never  booed a player or the team, if  you did'nt enjoy the game just leave at the end without applauding the team. Booing gets you nowhere.

Festy reminds me so much of Antonio of West Ham, but before he changed to an out and out striker.
He’s also got a bit of Adama Traore about him too.
if he can emulate them, we’ll have some player on our hands - that’s if we can get him signed in an extended contract ??

Errr kinda. It's a win-win-win for MM really.
Win 1 : If Boro take the claim up with him personally (which I doubt is legal) then that enables MM to sell the stadium
Win 2: PR - obviously this make MM look... better to some
Win 3 : His chances of winning at the High Court, without the EFL amateurs/crooks involved, are vastly improved. The accountancy practises that MM employed are perfectly legal, just not acceptable by EFL rules so on that basis alone, will win (IMO).
Bonus Win 4 : If he loses, he will then file the same claims against QPR, Leeds, et al as if Boro win against us, the other claims  demonstrably all have validity in the eyes of the law.
None of that is a criticism of the OP or MM btw, just an opinion.

Raich Carter reacted to Phuket Ram in Mel Morris: an example
I accept that I may be alone with this view… so don’t all pile on, I am fully aware that in the end it was a disaster, but….
I read and 100% agree with everything that Mel says in his lengthy letter.

He slams the EFL for their almost childlike behaviour from the very beginning; making up rules to suit themselves; systematically   removing all of the (fair and reasonable) options Mel had, creating this whole ******** scenario to suit their board member.

let’s not forget too much that the EFL are way more to blame for this mess than Mel - he was a smart guy, did some really smart things but at the end of the day, the EFL sucked away his will. They don’t like smart people with their smart ideas.

EFL are self righteous dinosaurs, and they will become extinct when the dust settles. They can’t survive the shambles they have created, and I for one will be celebrating when they are removed (even if we are in the Midlands North division).
Don’t shoot me. But most of us agreed with every move Mel made at the time.. maybe a few too many sackings but hey… at least he tried.. ?

Or we did everything we could  we don't want to lose Derby but we have to maintain the integrity of the Football League that's why we appointed Peter Ridsdale to sort it out.

It's about reputation and the fans for me. The other fans will know we, the fans, are DCFC. We know our history, they know our history so it wouldn't bother me at all that the 15th legal entity that has held the IP is different...
It's like saying Mel Morris or Robert Maxwell are DCFC - they owned the club but they clearly are NOT DCFC! The fans are. The club is obviously nothing without the fans - I don't think people really realise that sometimes. I've always said we'd get 15,000 fans if we played at the Racecourse and I stand by it. Just like Rangers, we'd come back to hold our place in the league because we're a club (i.e. this group of fans) of a certain size. Bury were always a small club so it was much harder for them to mobilise as the DCFC fans have.
It'll all be forgotten one day just like Leeds, etc.

    Good post, although I disagree.
Think it's splitting hairs really. If it's called Derby County, and plays at Derby County's ground, in Derby County colours and the same fans support them, then it's Derby County.
Just cos a piece of legal paper that no normal person is gonna ever read has a slightly different name on it doesn't alter that for me.
What is a club in any case?
I guess I'm saying that Triggers broom remains Triggers broom regardless of how many heads and handles it's had.
    And Rangers are still Rangers.

No thats not true Roy. The club is a separate entity from the Company that owns it. Wigan were liquidated last year, still playing in the EFL in fact no further punishment apart from the 12 point deduction which as it happened did relegate them to League One.

And it's still the same club. The same badge, the same history , the same ground , the same fans.

Leeds United were liquidated too. Same thing.
It will be sad to see the old Company go but to be honest it may be that that is what Q were planning anyway, liquidating the old Company and transferring the club to a new one.

That  is not a phoenix club. It's a phoenix Company.

    It's a football league:

    noun
    1.
a collection of people, countries, or groups that combine for mutual protection or cooperation.
Whilst I appreciate that MFC could say our previous owners didn't stick to that, we've already been punished by the governing body but they are now only punishing the fans as the previous owners have moved on. If MFC sued Mel (difficult I know but you know what I mean) then I can understand it's personal, etc but by taking this action against the remnants of the club they are definitely breaking the principle of the league albeit not in law (any Company can sue another for reasons it sees fit).
The EFL are screwing it up by saying these are debts when clearly they're not.
Silverlinings? Not many but it makes for a fruity game if we ever play them again!
If I was a buyer I'd be tempted to buy us out of liquidation and build from the bottom.  We'd still get 15,000 playing against Wealstone Rangers! It'll be a laugh going back up the leagues again a la Rangers. Yes, I'm grasping for positives!
