  1. I have just had a reply from Rick. He started by asking me not to be offensive. I didn't feel I was, I just asked him to grow a pair of baalocks and get it sorted. And suggested he set up a panel quickly to hear the claims, put them to bed one way or another, so we can move on.

His reply was pretty much the statement they released. But he also said that he could put a panel together quickly and do just that, but 'the parties need to agree to do this'. Looks like no one is actually prepared to get a decision on it? But as 3 parties involved who knows.

Also said I should ask the administrators what they have been doing, as they have known they needed to sort the issue out from Day 1.

I welcome this, its not about you, its the people you potentially infect, the elderly and vulnerable including your relatives.  People are still laughing at masks and not trusting vaccines, that fine, you have a choice, but so does DCFC and they have a duty of care to their fans!!!  Just as you have a right not to be vaccinated or want to wear a mask, DCFCs has a right to refuse you entry!

At least we are not at the point of compulsory vaccination like some countries in the EU.  You 'still' have a choice, life is full of choices, but, you need to accept your choices sometimes have consequences.  I've personally had 3 jabs and the flu jab, why to keep myself and my relative safe.

Its simple if you want entry get jabbed, if your not exempt and don't want to get jabbed, you have to accept the consequences of not being allowed in, its a choice....

An anti-vaxer and campaigner who attended lots of C19 anti-vaccination rallies who lived in Willington, is no longer with us, sadly, he endured a terrible fate on a ventilator which lasted for about 10 weeks and ultimately died.

Lets all stay as safe ae we can, be it by taking the vaccination or by respecting the rules by not attending the game, we all have a choice!

It's not worked in any country its been imposed. If you've been vaccinated brilliant, look after you. If someone isn't vaxed near you, it's their lookout not yours. I've had 3 jabs then got covid 4 weeks ago (and given it the Mrs who's also been vaxed) , and thankfully it was very mild, had worse head colds tbh- thanks to the vax. And I'm 52 asthmatic and had 2 bouts of phenomonia in tha past, so I wasn't looking forward to it. But this rhetoric that we need to ban those that havn't been vaxxed and those that have need to shown their papers to go anywhere is daft. Unless you lock yourself up you're going to get it, and most likely from someone who's been vaxxed.

I think the thing with Omicron is it’s more transmissible which means more cases and more impact on the economy. Hence the rush to get people vaccinated as much as possible.

We would suffer if games got cancelled or we went back to no crowds.

South African doc on the other morning, saying think of it as a Christmas present, more transmissible, will become dominant and wipe out delta - but not deaths yet from it. I fact checked and the WHO have this morning said the same regarding deaths. Fingers crossed.

When you say 'ill deserved', I would disagree. The actual penalty award was somewhat fortunate, but the free kick award leading to it, was scant reward for a cynical professional foul on a player clean through on goal. It's a pity that refs can't award penalties for such fouls, committed outside the penalty area.

Was still in our own hands though had we lost or drawn, Gillingham away on the Saturday, which I know we lost but we were already 'ill deserved' UP by then.

I have never seen an open Membership for the RAMS trust it seems a very closed door.

I’ve never considered joining RamsTrust but in light of this thread I have tried to find details online……. Must be honest it took me 5 seconds to find the website and then another 5 seconds to find membership details so to call it a closed door is very harsh.

And its £2 to join. Hardly the Masons is it.

No, the point is that if a once-in-a-hundred-years pandemic hadn't been allowed to take hold of the country by (arguably) government complacency and negligence, would DCFC have been in the position whereby it was no longer able to meet its obligations to creditors?

What you appear to be arguing is that the club should have been in a position to ride out any comparable storm, but since EFL rules don't require clubs to prove they can do that regardless of the force majeur event, I don't believe the appeal can simply be struck out on the basis that its finances should have been more robust, provided the club can demonstrate that its income was materially reduced as a result.

Interestingly, Maguire's latest podcast seems to suggest we could have reasonably forseen Covid, as SARS, Ebola and the like have been around so it was I inevitable that a global pandemic would hit and we should have been prepared. And Covid is not a force majure event. The man's a menace.

£200 million put in by Mel plus money for the stadium. Where one earth did that money go? I don't understand the details of our finances, @Sparkle, but I don't understand how we ended up in so much catastrophic debt.

Wages and transfers in. Ave player on £10-£30k  a week, spend £4m a piece on Johnson and Anya transfers et al.  Don't take long to burn.

  8. You wonder whether we've kept the same/similar amortisation, ie the existing accounts but provided further information to back them up? Previously didn't the DP say, whilst the EFL use straight line method, ours wasn't against accounting practice but we hadn't demonstrated how we arrived at the interim valuations, all a bit arbitrary. Which is why straight line is easier in football terms and preferred as everyone then does it the same way. Perhaps we are sticking to our original guns. Who knows. An incompetent statement from the EFL and rubbish comms from Dcfc.

  9. Some chat in the Tom Lawrence thread about pennos and Tom's 'panenka', started me thinking about penno takers.

Gerry Daly was pretty consistent and Deano hit em very well. Can't really remember Hinton's tbh. Read a stat from some German analyst about high and wide were the most likely to be scored. Deano's fit that Bill.

But for me, Alan Biley. Straight down the middle about 6 inches under the bar. Loved his pennos. Best for me, just loved the way he 'wacked em'.

And an honourable mention to Nathan Ellington as my second fav, the first time I'd seen anyone wait for the keeper and then pea roll it into the other corner. Stoke away in the QF of the league Cup was awesome- never looked nervous and I never thought he was going to miss- utter confidence.

Just trying to picture in my head where that wall is and if it was part of the BBG. I am assuming it was on the Ley side of the ground? But I don't remember that being part of the stand. Maybe the wall between the ground and Leys?

It's the columbo end. Right at the end of columbo Street as it hit the back of the Ossie end

I’ll be going. Not overly concerned about COVID. However, having seen the last two England games I am concerned about the booing of players who take the knee. If it happens at PP I, along with my son and other friends will be leaving and not coming back anytime soon. I am a ST holder and travel 180 miles there and back on match days and follow away when I can. I am also a person of colour, and the booing is something neither myself and my son will put up with. The excuse that the booing is against Marxism is laughable.

I get that mate. As a white fella I really find it hard to give an an informed  opinion, as I've never walked in your shoes, so I'll go with taking on board what you and the players are saying. I certainly wouldnt boo.

CKR has done an interview in the athletic last week, his opinion is the symbol of - 'taking the knee' he feels is derogatory in itself and suggests a submissive meaning. Says he's told all lads of colour at the club this too and why he does the black power salute. And why the team now don't take the knee but stand together.

    Opinions....
