    Look tired, sloppy. Don’t really deserve anything today. Bird and Knight well off the pace. Morrison just not good enough. Disappointing ?

    And also calls out Morris for the kind of person he was.
    Charity donations to local hospitals do not paint over the entire debacle he's overseen. Truly shocking.

    I can’t wait for the day where we aren’t continually talking about off field issues and can solely talk about the team, the results and why is it so difficult to get hold of home and away tickets especially now we’ve extended the capacity to 40k at PP.
    I’m sure that day isn’t too far away.

    The administrators have already said that selling players is not viable in providing funds to see out the season. Why would we sell Lawrence? If that happens then our chances of staying up dramatically decrease. He wants to stay and I expect him to. Remember what Rooney said. 'No one will leave without my say-so.'

    Matchday 26 – Saturday 22nd January 1972 & back to League action with a visit to Upton Park
    West Ham started the day firmly in midtable (12th) but were a much sterner prospect at the Boleyn & had demolished league leaders Man Utd 3-0 there a couple of weeks earlier. Whilst Derby had ended their poor away run at Southampton, it was still a tough test for the Rams
    Match highlights from a cracking game below - keep your eye out for an amusing interlude involving a young Harry Redknapp, 2 teenage girls & two policemen ?

    Programme of the day from East London;

    Derby’s point in East London kept them in 4th place & 2 points behind the leaders but there was major change elsewhere. After a 0-1 home defeat by Chelsea, Man Utd finally surrended their 3 month stint at the top - George Best had been dropped 2 weeks earlier for going AWOL for a week from training (allegedly spent with 1971 Miss Great Britain) but even his return was not enough to stop a 6th game without a win. They were replaced at the top by Leeds (who beat Sheffield Utd 1-0) narrowly ahead on goal average from Man City, who won at Palace;

    Could/would any true fan be able to walk away from the club in this state? Especially if you’re the one who put it on the brink of extinction?

    "Footballers are not always empathetic by nature. The world they know and come from is competitive, cruel and often unfair. It pays to be selfish. Rooney thrived at the top end of it on the back of rare talent and an insular streak. Now, as he prepares to lead his team in an East Midlands Derby game at Nottingham Forest today, he is relying on something softer and deeper.
    He has already spoken to parents of his players about their mental health, asking them to look out for red flags. Local supporter groups, he revealed on Friday, have his phone number.
    Rooney has paid for vital training ground equipment himself and has promised football staff made redundant over the last 12 months that, if brighter days do return, they will be the first ones back through the door.
    In short, Rooney has vowed to carry the load of Derby’s troubles on his own shoulders and on the field at least there has been a revival."

    He’s done well this season and deserves the credit.
    Its strange that he’s doing better with a weaker squad, but maybe that’s down to the inexperience he had last season, which let’s be honest was utterly dire.
    He made progress at the start of this season but there were still obvious improvements that could be made.
    It wasn’t till Morrison was suspended that it finally seemed to click in his head what this division requires.
    Since then he’s really upped his game and has us playing much better than expected.
    He may have stumbled across the solution, but he deserves credit for recognising it and sticking with the new approach instead of going backwards.
    He’s made us solid, got us playing quicker and finally ina style that works in the Championship, we are now a dangerous team to play against.
    Well done Wayne.

    Exactly. Last half of last season was painful to watch, put simply we were abysmal. Some of the worst performances I have ever seen. However, as you say , against all of the odds he has galvanised the squad, we look like a team, we have momentum and if somehow we can keep most of the squad together, who knows. He has done remarkably well ???

    My god this is draining , sadly I was one of those who defended Morris for too long as one of our own but Neville boils it down well , comes in ,gambles the club on making money getting to the prem , leaves the clubs on the brink of ceasing to exist in massive debt and mess and walks away owning the ground ??????

    Usually in US if you can run for republican senator you are loaded unless one of our US resident fans can correct me. Just because you havent heard of them doesnt mean they're not rich.

    Not aimed at you at all just generally but looking at this thread tonight cant get over how picky some suddenly are. It may not work out but we have an actual bidder. an actual formal bidder. Can we not just enjoy that thought tonight and analyse the amounts that will cover, why some with no knowledge seem to have taken against them already etc etc another time. I really thought the claims were going to see everyone off.  We have a bidder. Imagine the mood in Parry Towers, Gibson's grotto and other one's tacky mansion ????

    Gary Neville just spoke very well on Sky Sports about how MFC and WW must stand down in the interest of the football family. Very open and honest words.
