No matter how bad it gets, you have to live in hope that the good times will return.
Here are a few examples of current Premiership teams who've had recent bad times :
    Man City - 3rd division in 2001
    Leicester City - Bankrupt & 3rd division in 2008/09
Leeds United - Bankrupt in 2007 and 3rd division for 3 seasons to 2010
Southampton - Bankrupt and 3rd division in 2009
Brighton - no ground and 3rd division up to 2011
    Wolves - 3rd division in 2014/15

Good to be back posting again
My thoughts of Wayne is nothing but praise, bringing in good experience pros, to mix it up the the youth, was so important, having no money, but for me with want he has at his disposal he is doing a great job, also love the way we are trying to play, so many positives, around the squad and coaching staff.
Just need a takeover now, and to come out of the embargo, to give Wayne the help he and the coaches and playing staff deserve.

Football history is littered with fans who bought their home town clubs with the best of intentions and left them in a mess, with their own fortunes significantly diminished. Mismanagement and eventual disillusionment doesn't automatically mean they were only in it for what they could make. Mel Morris certainly didn't need Premier League millions when he started his ownership as a half-billionaire.
I can believe he did it for the personal glory, the status, the adoration of the masses. But the money? No.

Hi Rams fans - undercover red here and as the name says I do come in peace, never quite got my head round the bad feeling between our two sides, anyway - to your point we have not been called Notts for over 100 years - the World Famous City Ground is indeed in the county and we moved there in 1898 but of course it was not always so. Forest originally played Shinty until 1865 when a meeting was called and we decided to switch to football and so formed the NFFC which makes us the world's oldest professional football club (since County's relegation to the national league) - the team played at various places with the city but in the most basic sense the club represented the City while Notts County represented the County - pretty simple really. We hate it for the same reason you'd hate being called Derby City or Derby Town, its not your name. It is weird that while we play at a stadium outside the City while Notts County's ground Meadow Lane in inside the city limits.
As for the game I can confirm that many of us think you have a good chance to get your first win since 2017 because for all his faults Rooney's apparently managed to at least create a fighting spirit and siege mentality which is working for you while we don't seem to know what we're doing apart from making a team that is less than the sum of its parts.

    PREDICTION LEAGUE RULES
Every league game, I will start a thread on the 'Prediction League' page. I will go through the predictions you post  after each game and look for your prediction, and I'll keep a league table running.

It would help immensely if you could post the result in the following format

    example :-  Luton 0 Derby 2 , Lawrence FRGS

Points will be gained for the following correct predictions:
1 / For correctly nominating the winning team or a draw: +1 point
2 / For correctly nominating the first Rams goalscorer: +2 points
3 / For correctly predicting no Derby goals: +2 points ya miserable b'stards
4 / For correctly nominating the scoreline ,  ** with the teams the right way around ** , +2 points (so 3, including the point for predicting the winning team)
And no conditionals. No "If Sibley starts, then we'll win, but if he's on the bench we'll draw" stuff - pick a result and go for it.
A total of 5 points can be picked up per game.
I'll be looking at the last prediction you make in the thread. Only predictions made before kickoff will count, and if you go back and modify your prediction after kickoff, I'll not count it.

Just for fun and bragging rights , i'll attempt to make League Tables as i did last season , maybe not updating after every match but periodicly depending on how enthusiastic i become , all your predictions will be safely stored on my trusty fag packet  memory stick

**unless blatantly obvious , ie 2-0 Lawrence FRGS , which will be allowed , even if Derby are away ** ..

I hope the Aberdeenshire Rams are all well and are looking forward to today's game on Sky TV at 12:30 away at Peterborough United.
Aberdeen's greatest manager Alex Ferguson's boy Darren Ferguson has urged his side to get back to basics. He said it sounds simple, but we have to be solid and work from there. We need to stay calm and stick to the game plan and hope we are good enough on the day. It will be a tough game, but we are looking forward to it.
After taking my boys to Pittodrie on Thursday night, with the youngest boy's first experience of European competition, I wonder if I will ever get the chance to see Derby County compete again in a European competition. Anyway we all enjoyed the 2-1 win for Aberdeen against Breidablik, 2 goals for Ryan Hedges in front of 15,000 plus fans, on Thu 12th Aug 2021, and it was great to see from the South Stand, the Red Shed (Merkland Stand) bouncing with fans getting behind their team.
I hope the Derby County fans that have travelled to Peterborough today are loud and proud and cheer the Rams on to victory.

He's mad as a cat in a box but I can't help but like the guy. Says what he means, means what he says. World's away from the hollow, media savvy soundbites favoured by most younger gaffers. He can be daft at times and wilfully one-eyed at others, but there's no doubting his passion and his record speaks for itself.
Slight tangent, but I do sometimes wonder what he might have done with our lot as I'm pretty sure he's been in the frame on a couple of occasions. Can't imagine Colin favours new-fangled rubbish like zonal-marking. Not as sexy as a Lampard or a Rooney type of appointment I grant you, but given a couple of seasons here, I fancy he'd have had some success.

These last few weeks especially Wayne has gone up in my estimation hugely.
I’ve been so impressed with his attitude and his calmness when being faced with an incredibly difficult situation.
He has personally significantly helped our situation by providing an air of,and promise of,stability at a time when the club is being buffeted from all angles. Having managerial issues at present would be just awful for everyone and wayne has removed that risk
To me he is coming across incredibly well in his media work and has effectively taken on the whole of the club’s communications onto his own shoulders.
Well done to Wayne and it seems like most people are feeling that way given the reception he is getting at matches.
I really, really wish, though, that those fans who sing that appallingly infantile and frankly insulting song about him would stop. Can you imagine how his wife and children feel when they hear it ? It is grossly offensive.

"...any half decent offer from another club he'd be gone, but no other club would touch him with a barge pole."
I disagree. I think he's a "completer-finisher". He sees a project at Derby, something to build-back, in the same way as Nigel Clough did. He's got a vision; sure Derby County have actually got most of the pieces in place, but are in a mess and have been on a downward trajectory since Frank Lampard was videoed singing that Clash song. Wayne is halting the slide, despite the attempts of the EFL, and the reflected schizzle of the Club sale. I see a steeliness and focus about WR that people with real internalised zeal have and they are rare in all walks of life. He's not seeking the glory of Old Trafford, or the Premiership, or the bright lights, he's purely applying himself to doing a job because he has football DNA and he has a deep-rooted belief in himself that he is testing. It's what makes some people "winners", an almost OCD focus. He doesn't need money, he could appear on TV as a Pundit, or offer his services to a Club-project like Salford (Ironically!) but Derby is his Salford and I am finding it totally absorbing to see him in operation. I really want him to succeed because I'm staring to really believe in him. Madame Football may have a different plan as she often does, but we'll see, won't we.

Can you provide anything tangible to support your comment he is on £90k per week?
I accept there was much media comment of that sum for his playing contract (contra’d in major part by 32 Red) but how do you know that he did not accept an alternative contract when taking the managerial reins. I suspect you really have about much idea as I do. None.
