I hope the highlight of the season is to come. Praying it's this week, when it's announced we are out of ADMINISTRATION.

I started following Derby when Tim Ward was manager. I think Kevin Hector was Tim's last signing before he left the club and I recall not much of a gap between Hector joining and Ward leaving. We paid £40,000 for Hector from Bradford Park Avenue where he had scored over 100 goals.

It's going to be interesting with some of the away fixtures. There's a lot of clubs with very small ground capacities and probably won't give many away tickets out to Derby. Could we get Burton to play their home game at PP, it woud make them some money.

For every Sunderland there is a Hull. It really depends which way you look at it. Of course you choose to take the view that Derby will struggle. Personally I think it requires a bit of balance.
All the clubs you have mentioned were a mess and went down under a cloud. The difference with Derby is that there is a potential takeover and a chance for a fresh start. The fanbase is united and the team that has been relegated isn't actually a relegation side.
You talk about Rooney potentially struggling to cope with the expectation despite the fact he was a serial winner as a player and knows exactly how to handle pressure. To essentially say that Rooney has had it easy this season, because there was no expectation to get results, is very unfair.
Yes there is a lot of work to do in the summer but if the takeover happens soon then I suspect quite a few of the current players will sign contracts. There is no reason why we cannot be really competitive next season.

plymouthram got a reaction from cstand in 84 days from the final whistle of this season we start the season again
Well that's a short time to next season and even shorter for teams that get involved in play-off games. The Championship play-off final not being played until 29th May. So the losing team, who like the other 3 teams in the play-offs will have plan A (Transfer targets for the Premier League) and plan B (Transfer targets for Championship). But only a mere 62 days before they kick off again.
So Derby are in a better position to have an extra 19 days head start on all the teams in the championship. Even the 7 teams at the top of League 1 are not certain 100% what league they are in yet.

Not necessarily, with high inflation there is a benefit to pay it over a longer period and in the meantime ‘invest’ the money elsewhere for a better return.

I personally don't think Chris Kirchner is that wealthy, there's got to be other backers behind him and unknown to us fans. I would'nt be surprised if Mel was involved or some other close associates of Mr K.

It just seems that his personal wealth is kept a secret and if he stated last year in an interview that he is not a multi-millionaire, where is the money coming from. It must be other backers to be splashing that type of cash for Derby if it's true about him being only worth £5m.

Why is investment required, once the debts are compromised? Rooney has a handy knack of getting good players on frees, we have a strong group of youngsters whose wages won’t be busting the bank, and half the clubs in the leagues are struggling financially so the market for players’ wages has collapsed. The only cost item out of whack is Wayne’s salary and if Stretford is indeed advising CK I’m sure that will be finessed. The fan base puts us in a much stronger position relative to most championship sides, let alone div 1, once the legacy debts are addressed

You are probably right, if Rowett had paid what Exeter were asking for him. Rowettball would have had him playing holding midfield player.

I think there is a lot of things going on in this PB announcement. Kirchner walked away back in December and even went sniffing around at Preston. What brought him back to Derby ? Is Mel involved with some financial backing, will there be a separate bid coming in to buy the stadium. Did the Administrators give the PB to Chris Kirchner on Mel's say so, to entice a bigger raised bid from Mike Ashley. Is Mike Ashley (who states he still wants Derby) going to sneak in by purchasing the stadium off Mel.                                                                          Or does Chris Kirchner have other backers within his bid (George Clooney) or some other rich yank. Paul Stretford is involved with Kirchner and is also connected to Wayne Rooney (football agent). Stretford's networth is £20.8m and Rooney 's is £120m, have they put into the pot. It seems strange that Chris Kirchner, a mere 34yr old is only estimated to be worth £5m but has won the preferred bidder. There must be others involved, time will tell.

The Administrators statement suggested there was 3 bids that met the deadline of 3pm on the 25th March. Surely one was Ashley and obviously Kirchner was another and possibly the 3rd bid was Andy Appleby consortium.

It was Steve Mac that spoke to Exeter about an approach for Watkins during the January transfer window, then not long after that in the March Rowett came in. Watkins stated he wanted to stay at Exeter until the end of that season because they were involved with a possible promotion which they lost in the play off final to Blackpool. It's possible that he would have signed for Derby, but come the end of the season we had Rowett in charge, who I believe stated Exeter were asking too much. He was bought for £1.8m and sold 3 years later for £28m.

They could give us a little more information, like yes there is still 3 bids in the running. A statement telling us the stumbling block is the cost of what Mel wants for Pride park etc. The None Disclosure is about details of who is bidding and their various details. They don't confirm the exact amount of bidders and they seemed to have dropped the "shortly" and "immanently" quotes. Any other club on the brink and thinking of going into administration, won't be giving these clowns a call.

My take on this never ending saga= 1. Mel put us in administration. 2. Mel picks the administration company. 3. Mel did'nt like Kirchner's bid. 4. Mel thought the Binnie brothers bid was crap. 5. A few weeks ago, the administrators were going to announce Ashley is the preferred bid but Mel's not happy with the amount of money on the table.
Tell me I'm wrong somebody (Mel's still pulling the strings)

The standard of refereeing is bad, been bad for 3 or 4 years now. But when it comes against Derby, I feel they have an issue of trying to upstage Wayne who is a big name in football and these incompetent officials seem to want the man to fail.
