I think he said they would be around next season but i dont think he actually said they will be the main shirt sponsor did he?

    He did mate.

Go to 1:22:40 onwards and he confirms that FanHub will be our front of shirt sponsor next season

I sincerely hope Warne and the players are aware of this and remember Northampton, where the pitch was very bobbly for a well covered surface. We need to adopt better tactics than we did there.

In all fairness, despite not playing well. We should have won.

The chances that Adams and Waghorn missed were absolute sitters.

You could argue if they had fallen to Collins he would have scored both.

  3. Personally wouldn't have Hourihane or Waghorn in the line up if I could help it. Hourihane runs like he's pulled both his hamstrings and offers absolutely nothing. Waghorn is just poor.

Surprising people wanting CBT on the bench cos he's had one bad game. Id start him.

Also find it bizarre anyone could possibly want NML up front.

Id go with a 433. Hopefully Bird is fit. If he is I'd go:-

                     Wildsmith

    Wilson, Nelson, Cashin, Sibley,

                        Adams,

                  Bird, Thompson.

    Mendez-Laing, Collins, CBT

Smith for Bird if Bird isn't fit. We need energy in midfield.

  4. Pretty similar to the Northampton game last night was. We weren't great but if we take our chances we win that game.

I said coming into these last 4 games that if we get 10 points from these I think it will be enough because Bolton will have to win all 4 games. If they do that then fair play.

If we do get the 10 points we'd finish on 92. Bolton then need to win all 4 and Peterborough need to win their remaining 5 games.

In all honesty if we don't win these last 3 games then we don't deserve to go up.

A severely injury hit Leyton Orient, a relegation threatened Cambridge (who I think will be safe by the time we play them) and an already relegated Carlisle.

    Keep the faith.

    We can do this!

I've put him on 'ignore' so many times, but I always relent a few months later.

It's almost as though I need to read someone else's batshit insanity every now and again to convince me that I'm not losing my own marbles (yet).

Now to a (in my opinion) non-controversial point - I would have taken that scoreline before the game. No arguments or recriminations from me about possible offsides or handballs regarding the Pompey goals - that's football, and things, by and large, average out over a season.

Agree mate. Seen someone on twitter say if there was VAR in league one then both their goals wouldn't have counted.

But then you can say if there was then both our goals at home to Reading wouldn't have counted. Swings and roundabouts.

  6. Good point in the end that. Got undone by a screamer which can happen.

But on another night they could score that open goal and get a penalty (if that was us, I'd want a penalty for what Wilson did) it definitely falls into the category of "I've seen them given" and I would agree with Curtis Davies in that if it's anywhere else on the pitch it's a foul.

But we defended well, held our shape well and it was a good away performance.

Now we've got 8 days to rest. A luxury no other team is getting.

I think 3 wins will do the job now. That would mean Bolton need 4 wins and a draw from their last 5 games. Which I just cannot see them getting.

If we can go to Wycombe and get a result, it will take the pressure off slightly for the remaining 3 games.

Hoping Bristol Rovers can do us a massive favour on Saturday, but they seem to be on the beach, so I'm not hopeful.

Another thing with the result today, it means that Pompey can go up with a win at Bolton. So they'll still have something to play for.

Maybe have Bird, Gayle and Barkhuizen back for Wycombe away too. Who hopefully will have a Wembley hangover.

    We can do it.

    Up The Rams!

  7. Yes plenty of positives.

After we lost to Stevenage and Shrewsbury in October, if someone said with 6 games to go you'll be 4 points clear of 3rd. Every one of us would have taken it.

Infact every single one of us would have probably taken Bolton's position after those games.

Yes yesterday was poor, but if we'd taken those huge chances we win that game comfortably and we go away happy.

We have more than enough to beat Blackpool at home. Bolton have a tricky game at Stevenage. Who knows we could be 7 points clear by next Friday night.

Wycombe away is 2 and a half weeks away. We could have Gayle, Barkhuizen back for then.

  8. Had time to calm down a bit now after yesterday to give my honest opinion.

First 20 minutes of the first half, I thought we looked good. It was all us, but we didn't create any chances at all. Scored from a corner.

We go in at half time and you just think come out and get the second goal. But we started so poorly. Despite us being poor, we were still ok and Charlton did not look dangerous at all.

Then Wildsmith decides to give the most ludicrous penalty away you will see (exactly the same as Oxford away) unforgiveable. Clearly not learnt his lesson. You cannot legislate for that at all. As soon as Vickers is fit, he would be going back in. Then i'd be looking for a new number 1 in the summer.

Then it just gave them hope, when they had none. Another mistake and another goal.

I was ok after the Barnsley game, thought it was tight, neither team created a lot. Both scored a set piece. The difference was they scored a really great finish, Neither keeper had anything to do. Draw would have been fair.

But last night, we are playing against a team that has not won for 18 games. Regardless of the fact that they have good players and are underperforming. I cannot remember their keeper making a save or us testing him at all. At no point did I think we would score in open play, we could still be out there now and not scored. Which against a team 20th in the league is unacceptable.

Warne comes out after every game saying we moved the ball to slow, we weren't brave enough on the ball. Yet every game we do it again.

I am not a fan of Warne or the football. You can forgive the football if we win games. But last night was hideous and inexcusable.

I saw people moaning he took Smith off. But Smith was blowing out his arse and was done after 50 odd minutes. Not sure why Thompson didn't get on to replace the energy vacated by Smith. Really not sure why Cashin was left back either.

We simply have to win the next 3 games. All winnable. But my biggest concern is that we just are not creating any chances at all. 2 games in a row now I can't remember the opposition keeper having to make a save. Even last night if their keeper had made save after save and we were creating chances. You would have come out thinking, its one of them days, Gave 2 poor goals away but we are creating chances so carry on like that and we will be fine.

The best I have seen us play this season was the second half at Oxford. We were on the front foot, brilliant. That's what we need.

We have nothing to lose now, I want to see us come out, create chances and put teams to bed.

Sitting on a 1-0 lead at home is criminal and has cost us so many points this season. 3 last night, 2 against Wycombe, 2 against Shrewsbury.

We aren't sacking Warne now. So we have just got to get behind them and hope we can do enough to get up.

  9. He was sprinting around, closing down, right up until the very last minute.

The doctor and physio went on and assessed him and cleared him to play. If there was any doubt at all he should have been off.

Then at 3-0, if he is sore, he needs to take some responsibility and say, look I am a bit sore here, and then just get him off. The game was over.

If he is out for any period of time, we probably need to try and bring Gayle in.

  10. Some of the reactions on here and twitter last night were beyond a joke to be honest.

"No prem club is going to trust Warne with their young players"

"Max Bird probably left because he cant stand Warnes football"

"Warne can't attract players, the club are lying to us"

    "Warne hasn't got the contacts"

"The club said we had money, a good budget, this is a lie"

    Amongst other things.

Yet if you take time to wait to hear the reasons and let the club have their say. We were two young strikers first choices, but unfortunately the clubs in question could not get cover and therefore wouldn't let them go. But apparently we have a manager who cant attract these young players because no premier league manager would trust Warne.

Max Bird was leaving anyway. It really sounds like even if we had got promoted this season, he would have gone. He has been here for a long time. He wants a fresh challenge. Simple as that. No ulterior motives, no hate of the manager, he just wants a fresh challenge.

A deal agreed with a striker, all pretty much done, till at 8pm the gaffer of the club in question pulls the plug. What can we do about that?

We knew of every striker available, we left no stone unturned. But we just couldn't get one done. Despite trying our best and essentially having one agreed until the plug gets pulled at the 11th hour.

We clearly had a but of money left to bring one in, but through no fault of the manager or the club, it has not happened.

Yet yesterday the club, the manager got dogs abuse for failing to get a striker in.

Washington and Waghorn will be back in 3 weeks. You have Barkhuizen that can play through the middle, NML if needed. In the next 5 games we have one midweek game, so the others are all a full week apart. Plenty of times for Collins to recover.

We have ended the window with a better midfield than when we started & wingers that would be the envy of most clubs in this league.

Lets get behind them now and stop looking to pin blame and point the finger at.

    Release clause? 350,000?

Only joking. This is stupendous news and a major boost after last night.

Shout out to @MACKWORTHRAM who said last night that there'd be good news.

This was what it was. I was swore to secrecy so I couldnt say exactly what it was because its not fair on the person who told me. I just recognised people were unhappy yesterday so wanted to try and say look good news is coming.

Yes I agree - the silence is very strange

But I’m deciding to take that in a way that suggests something is happening. We do normally get an indication that nothing is happening when the journos know. I’m guessing they haven’t been told anything yet because the club are STILL trying…

Said multiple times in the past that this window will determine whether we go up or not. Look how Portsmouth and Bolton have strengthened. This could cost us automatics.

also found the strange vague post from @MACKWORTHRAMearlier a bit concerning…

Nothing to be concerned about mate. It's good news.
