Fozzy is an absolute warrior and as staunch as they come. Three ACLs, three knee reconstructions, thousands of hours of gruelling and unpleasant physio and around a year and a half training away from the lads doing solo work. His form is up and down in recent times, but to me he's a fookin hero and I hope he stays at Derby until he hangs up his boots.

Sounds like Rosenior was a big part of the pull for all three. Make the bloke permanent manager!

Leif Davis could be a decent option at left back from Leeds. Attacking left back, 22, spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, last year of his deal too. Ipswich reportedly interested in him.

Ive been told this morning there are as many as 30 players on trial with us. Sounds like some of them will be signing today based on Percys tweet, some will be for the u21s id imagine too.
    Explains why no pictures etc

Is it surprising? A player who on his day can be unplayable, scores from range, has scored a couple of decent headers. I can see Lawrence being a good addition for any side, imagine adding Lawrence to a side that has other forward options, a team where the expectation doesn’t sit entirely on his shoulders. His 7-10 goals a season suddenly become a massive asset complimenting the goal threat from elsewhere.
The Lawrence hate really baffles me.

I really like the potential signing of James Chester. 33 years old is decent age for a centre back in these leagues, and he's already played with Davies at Hull so should have a decent understanding with him from the off.

I know nothing ? Forsyth and McDonald have been in training with us haven't they? Strong links for Collins.
Glover has only played non-league football and a cup game vs Norwich (lost 6-0). Sotona is more highly regarded, a youth international, and experienced playing against tougher opponents than non-league last season in the form of 'Brentford B' games.
If Byrne stays I would expect him to play 40+ games, just like he has for 4 out of the last 5 seasons. Barkhuizen to fill in for the odd game if needed. Or Knight if we keep hold of him.
Needs a full season with the U21s
Pretty difficult to se him staying.
    As above

Rosenior has 4 years coaching experience behind him now, 1 at Brighton for the u23s and 3 with us under Cocu & Rooney. He wants to be a first team manager, I think now is as good a time as any for him to progress into that role

Our squad based on last seasons 4231 if the greens sign like reported. Shows we're short at left back and CDM.
Knight & Bielik in red as expect them to both leave.
Could maybe move Knight or Hourihane as CDM and Sibley to CAM. We still need a couple of players in the attacking areas.

I would imagine bonuses such as goals, clean sheets etc may not be allowed but I would imagine a promotion bonus is allowed when you consider the extra revenue involved.

Maybe we could convince him to sign a new 2yr deal. If we get promoted there is a pay increase built in but if we dont we will sell next summer where we can be in a position to get some money in for him.

The stick he gets vs his contribution on the pitch is ridiculous. He's an outstanding performer at Champ level. In L1? Forget about it. He'd be a cheat code. Pray he stays. Can't believe he woukd, unless somewhere deep down he feels he owes us. You never know.

Let it go alram. We're unlikely to see the details but I think we can be fairly confident that the club have had to produce some kind of budget and cash flow forecast (based on realistic income expectations) and any proposed contracts will need to fit within those projections.

I am here for all the Davis/Stearman love. But a wee bit of caution (realistic expectation) should be exercised.

Davis will be 37, and Stearman 35 during this next season. At some point legs/backs/etc simply give out.

As much as a warrior Davis has proven to be, he surely can’t be expected to suit up for the full dance card this year.

My guess is Derby will likely add more Center half’s than many would like to see…prompting some to think a three at the back. When it’s more likely a hedge for the likelihood more then one or two of our older lads will be needing more breaks.

If it fits within the business plan (and it has to otherwise the EFL will not sign off on it) then what is the problem?
Our squad is bare bones and we cannot rely solely on finding lower league gems for pennies, getting loans from mates and playing the kids. We have to bring in some form of quality, Hourihane could be that quality if we get a deal done.

I know he drives many of us nuts at times but he would be an excellent player in league 1.
the wages offered will be affordable. They have to be as part of our exit from administration.
I think there was some genuine contrition shown by Tom and also similar gratitude at the support he received from the club.
Lets be fair, he’s not perfect but he worked really hard last season and without him we’d have been down by the end of January.
I hope he stays, however unlikely it may be.
