No excuse not to turn up and support the lads. If you don't go to this one when they really need you then you cant consider yourself a true fan.

David's report is going to be like the Stone Rose's second coming. By the time it comes out everyone will have moved on years ago. 

Many on here might not like how Rooney manages the team, might not like what he chooses to do on a Saturday night but you have to say there is not a person in the footballing world who would begrudge him if he said "**** this for a game of soldiers".
Nobody is perfect, nobody is imperfect and I'm happy to say I admire the way Rooney is staying put and trying to fix this, when there is no reason what so ever for him to put himself through it. Again, cheap shot to say you'd rather he didn't because of his management skills but his commitment to helping solve the problem is more than most would say it needs to be.

It's win win for Rooney really. If he flops here no-one will blame him because of the mess of the club and if he does alright then he's a genius because again the club is in a mess. Plus, as it's the start of the season it'll likely be a little bit before he can get another job.

He put his body and potentially the rest of whatever is left of his career on the line to come on for the last 10 minutes against Wednesday and help us hang on to survival.
We haven't had many modern day heroes to shout about at Derby recently, but he'll always be remembered as one. I'm glad he's still here.

Slightly off topic but mel & the boys keep sating they're negotiating with the EFL about signing free's or what wages we can offer etc. 
Now i hate the EFL as much as the next person but it clear what we needed to do. Resubmit our accounts & pay our tax bill & a lot of this is done with & the embargo is lifted ?‍♂️
I wouldn't be surprised if our accounts failed & the plan is to get as many free transfers through the door before we submit our accounts & get smacked with a points deduction and proper embargo

I think back to when both Wigan and Bolton were in their plights and how hard the local press up there fought for answers and information in those situations.
A journalist from the local press was even banned from Bolton‘s stadium for a period of time (IIRC) for probing too far. Still, they continued to fight on behalf of the supporters.
Can anyone honestly say they’d expect the same from ours? I can’t, sadly.

Why doesn’t Mel just go on radio Derby himself? Then he would be in full control of what is said nobody misrepresenting or misremembering what he said.

Are you referring to the aftermath of the Meeting with MM?
If so, I’d say all optimism has drained and realism has replaced it.
I don’t believe there’s any good news.
We need to get behind the players and WR because they’re going to need our support more than ever.

Stephen Pearce printing contracts 7 a.m this morning.

Given our clubs conduct over the last 12 months I'm inclined to believe we'd do something this stupid.
The place is an absolute shambles so why should we give them the benefit of the doubt? They no longer deserve it.

It is still miles off. Smith bought in about 9 players that summer. We can’t bring in any. Smith bought players with some standing still. Van Der Laan was decent at Port Vale, Powell he knew from Portsmouth. We also had an experienced manager and one of the best young coaches in the game. That is miles off where we currently stand. 

I just cannot believe that a meeting took place for 4 hours, and the highlights seem to be that there are no incomings or outgoings, Mel wishes we used more academy players and that there are interested buyers. 
I could have told everyone that without needing 3 hours and 59 minutes more and wasting people's time and money to get to the meeting. 
I'd have also done a 45 second interview with Radio Derby so not as to subject normal fans to abuse online. 
Then made anyone with a supporters number sign a NDA. And their families. 
What the duck did they do for 4 hours. Talk about Nick's massive flag? Rooney and his new mates?

The Academy comment is very odd. Morris bought in an untried ‘name’ (Lampard) and allowed him to spunk millions on average (at best) players, and also loaned 3 youngsters from other clubs obstructing a pathway for our own, and then he sacked Cocu who had much success in Holland bringing youngsters through, and who was giving our youngsters lots of game time. Supposedly he still owes Cocu and Co. massive compensation for terminating their contracts. You couldn’t make it up really.

How on earth can the manager of the football club expect to have players in this week.
Only for the owner to say nothing is happening.
Absolute disgrace.
Mel Morris has ruined this football club. I absolutely despise him.

That bit drew my attention as well.  Not to worry, if the bit about the EFL signing saga rumbling on is accurate, there will be plenty of chance to see how a team of 19 yr olds gets steamrolled by a team of players with 10 yrs experience at this level.  The answer to his question  will be right there, as will the total crumbling of confidence in these players, who will have no respite when there struggling and no experience to fall back on 

Mel knows better than every manger he’s hired according to himself. You cant just flood a team with academy graduates, you have to blend it with experience and bed then in gently, not just throw them to the wolves!!
