The U21s played on a Saturday one last year - vs Villa in October.
It was me who requested a few questions on the academy via email. Not to catch Warne out, but in the hope of easing some of the concerns I had. Those questions related to watching U18/21 games, what's he doing to get the youngsters into the first team, and should more be used last season to avoid burn out.
As a reminder of what was said, these are the notes I made from the Fan Forum:
How can someone who doesn't know which age group he's watching, what the scores were, and who the players are, be the man to judge if these youngsters should or shouldn't be given first team games?

Or the players name that had just scored 3 goals - if that was me who'd just scored I'd be asking myself what's the point. 
The only players he mentioned in that U21 game was his two first team players. And I'd guess that's the only reason he went to watch the game.
I'm pretty sure he was asked about watching games and he said he watches the U21s on a Saturday just before they leave the training ground to get the Pride Park for the game. That's not the 21's, that's the 18's. 
I've watched loads of 18's games on a Saturday and the only people from the first team who come to watch are some of the players. Never have I seen Warne - he's too busy running around Oakwood to get his 5K run in. 

Simply dogshite.
Don't see any improvement throughout the course of his tenure.
The football is woeful, which I'd bare if we win games a'la Billy Davies but it isn't happening.

I hate his football. It makes me livid. Get rid.
PS: tried being patient, now fully convinced he is NOT the right man for the job. I can’t relate to the shiiiite that he calls football. These are not bad players, they are being coached in a damn awful way. His football has no place in the modern game. 

A couple of obvious points so far: Warne has admitted to mistakes in the January transfer window, not watching enough club games which aren't involving our first team, and not using enough academy players last season.
It was obvious to almost every fan that we needed more depth last season. Woth the small squad and no signings, it should have been obvious to use the academy too. Only for him to state in the summer that the squad suffered from burn out.
On the evidence so far this season, he hasn't learned from those lessons.

Previously I said he needs a full season, because under Mel so many knee jerks led to bits and pieces squads with cast offs from other managers all over.
Head tells me this should still be the case, but I’ve never been so fed up with our style, Warne makes Rowett look like Klopp. He’s like a P.E. Teacher and running them into the ground with little purpose some games. 
 
This squad should be up there, but our master tactician is going to be the biggest obstacle to success I fear.

Time will tell, but I'm quite disappointed with the transfer business we have completed in this window, after all the hype from Warne.
However, if he can get the players working as a team I am quietly optimistic we can achieve a top six finish.

I’m calling it that Big Trav has no idea at all the majority of the time, and he has you lot on strings. He though is a mate, or a mate of a mate, of who does the club media and photos and updates Trav when the photos are in the can. As for Simmo, my dog has more idea what is going on. And she is deaf and senile. 

Hang on a minute, weren’t we in for JCH about 12 hours ago? 

I dont get how according to big trav a few weeks ago we didnt have a pot to piss in and now we can buy JCH who will cost a 7 figure fee

This is one to watch👀 either this summer or January 

More than anything I get the feeling that he encourages decent players to want to leave which has to worry anyone. Can he take us forward once in the championship? I seriously doubt it. Is he the best we could have in this division? Well I seriously haven’t had any reason to think that having watched over the last 12 months.
Find me one of our players that he has improved.

I just do not understand why Warne comes out with some of the controversial statements that he does?  Why say a potential new player is in the building when he clearly isn't?
It gives false hope to the fans
He should say nothing until the deal is done.
