Fozzy himself said yesterday on the radio, if he wants a testimonial, he has to ask the club for one and form a committee to organise it.
I too don't see the argument in this thread.

My seat is in the North Stand , clearest penalty for me yesterday was the handball near the end of the game by a Shrews defender , the look on his face afterwards was of sheer relief when pen wasnt given , how the officials missed it i will never know

                                                     maybe close to the reason

One other thing that happened that I’ve only seen @CBRammette mention so far is their players deliberate trip on Wildsmith from behind.
Wildsmith came and collected ahead of the player who stopped behind Wildsmith.
Wildsmith then started looking at his options and stepping forward, the Shrew then blatantly kicked Wildsmith’s trailing leg, bringing him down.
    What did the ref do?
You guessed it……….he told Wildsmith to stop play acting and get up.

I've probably missed your point then - what was it other then to say unsurprisingly we have a worse record against the teams in the bottom half of the table then the top half - as you rightly say no news here or no poo Sherlock - was never questioning the validity of the data, more where are you going with it?
If you were just saying it for the sake of saying it fair enough, or were you saying that we should have a better record against the higher teams in the league therefore by implication we should be higher in the league given our record against the lower teams ergo Warne has underperformed with the resources he has available to him?
Anyhows as one of my old bosses used to say rather then spend an hour identifying a problem what's the solution?
Warne is on a 4 year contract, unless he reads your posts on this board then he ain't going to be particularly arsed what stats you trot out,  other than carry on supporting your team which I'm sure you will this just seems an opportunity for you (and others) to naysay if or when we lose in the playoffs to say I told you so.

OK> So when Rooney just about gets two hands on the back of the Shrewsbury player, its a peno. Probably quite rightly. But when Dobbin was pushed two-handed at the other end of the pitch, it isn't a peno. And when a Shrewsbury handles the ball in the area with both hands, it isn't a peno. Or Didzy commits a "professional" foul, the ref plays advantage, and when the ball next goes out of play, he shows a card to Didzy. Quite correctly. Then later in the match, Smith is bringing the ball out of defence and is completely wiped out by a Shrewsbury player. The ref plays advantage, but then does absolutely nothing about the foul. Are you beginning to see a pattern? And this goes on match after match after match. As I have already said, if this happened on the odd occasion, and affected both teams equally, there would not be a problem. But it doesn't. How many matches can you honestly say the we got the majority of the refereeing decisions in our favour?
And never mind getting a peno against us for light hand contact, how many absolute stonewall penalties have been seen turned down for Derby? (You will need a lot of fingers for that one).

I think some of our fans really don’t appreciate how things work in this division.
There seems to be this idea that we just play some possession football and we can win and rest a bit, but you’d probably find yesterdays point would turn into zero points.
It really isn’t that simple. Have you seen the way the opposition work, battle, timewaste, even cheat in more extreme cases?
The only way to succeed is to compete, look at the form teams at the moment, Sheff Wed and Barnsley, they are relentless till the final minute, they mix it in with some decent football, but they never stop, or even slowdown.
Its the formula for success in this division and we are/have become fairly good at it, we sadly just don’t have the squad for it at present due to the EFL business plan, the cup run didn’t help either.
Warne has got a tough job on keeping the keeping them fit and keeping the intensity high in a small squad with a big quality drop off outside the main starting eleven. He’s doing a decent job of it all things considered.

I am not saying Wycombe can’t catch us. This is football and anything can happen. All four teams in the play-offs still have work to do. Look at Bolton, for instance. They have 10 games left and they are only two points better off than us.
Wycombe are in a similar position to where we were in relation to Plymouth six games ago. We were already looking at our fixtures and crossing off the routine home wins and anticipating the other team would wobble. That didn’t quite turn out as we expected. Sometimes the old adage one game at a time rings very true.
We are going to lose games and drop points between now and the end of the season but so too will Wycombe and the two or three others queuing up.
I just think it’s no time to panic. I would say there are still 8 very winnable games for us and 4 games that may not be favourable for us but will come down to which team turns up on the day and if that’s us, we stand a good chance.
I wouldn’t write us off yet.

We're going through our bad spell. Every team has it. I think a lot of fans are reading too much into it and are being overly negative. If we finish in the playoffs we've had a really good season and have just as much chance at promotion as the others.

I think we're still struggling against the same sort of teams - those who are well organised, muscular, good at game management.  It's just that those teams tended to be at the bottom of the Championship , but tend to be towards the top of League One.

Wouldn't you expect that stat though for any team? That's like why the teams are where they are in the table as they generally succumb to being beaten by teams above them in the league which then dictates their league position?
Not sure what that "stat" tells us other then the lower half teams are there because they get beaten by more teams more frequently above them and the teams higher in the league the converse is true.
If you're now also starting to say that our head to head record against teams which we will likely to face in the playoffs will now determine the outcome if we do get there then really that's a step too far.

Good post. One small caveat though. Six out of those ten games against teams in the top half have been away from home. There are also four home games against top half teams PW cannot be tested against as we played them at home before he arrived. Lots of ifs buts and maybes but if we’d still beaten Barnsley, Wycombe and Peterborough at home under PW the picture looks a bit brighter. Maybe we wouldn’t have surrendered our lead against Plymouth and hung for a draw or win. Who know’s? it’s impossible to tell.

    Re comments about Didzy's booking:
The ref went to blow immediately... and with some vigour!  It was a clear yellow card offence... but he just managed to hold back as he realised there was an advantage to play.
He double checked who the perp was, and kept his eye on where Didzy was for the first few seconds.  I'm pretty certain there was also a gesture to let Didzy know what was coming.
I then commented to the guy in front that he'll get booked once the ball goes dead.  It was all so obvious.

It then transpired that the ball stayed alive for a good long while, despite both keepers having the ball in their hands during this play, so he waited... and waited... and waited... as he should.
The ref didn't forget.  And there was no surprise or complaint from Didzy when it came... he knew it was coming.
Ref got it all spot on, imo.

Frustrating is the best way to describe yesterdays game. Frustrating that we didn't take some of the easier chances in that first half and put the game out of sight.
Frustrating that Fozzy spoilt his big day by having one of his brain fart moments. He deserved to have a faultless display after the way he's performed overall this season. He's forgiven and it's forgotten for me.
Frustrated we had another ref that wanted to be centre of attention. How many times did he stop us taking a quick free kick? Then he proceeded to let us take the free kick from the same place. ?
Frustrated that yet another team comes to Pride Park with their main objective being to time waste. Says it all when you have a man booked for time wasting when you're losing. Anyone else notice their player move the ball the whole of 6 inches several times whilst Hourihane waited to take a free kick in the 2nd half? A booking surely referee?
Frustrated we gave away a soft penalty. Looked like their player had no chance of reaching the ball anyway. Don't give the ref a decision to make should be the lesson learnt.
Amongst all that frustration, however, there were plenty of positives. Smith excellent at centre mid. Rooney, penalty aside was pretty solid for me, especially first half. Roberts solid again too. Dobbin a menace at times too, incredibly unlucky with his header. Just needs a bit more composure and confidence when shooting opportunities present themselves to him.
