The issue is what you mean by 'value'.  Pride Park was basically valued on what it would cost us to replace it (less wear and tear etc), which is absolutely a standard way of valuing things like stadiums.  And when you look at Brentford paying £70m for a much smaller stadium, and Brighton paying £93m for theirs a decade ago, ~£80m is not remotely a crazy valuation.
Obviously in other contexts 'value' might mean completely different things to different people.

Surely you have to prioritise player contracts over season tickets? If you wait too long to offer contracts to players they might get pinched- but if you wait a couple of weeks to sell season tickets, I doubt it will make any difference to how many you sell?

Before I start, I absolutely admire anyone who does anything - however wacky - to raise money for the wonderful causes that Children In Need supports.
But, and it's a huge but, I find it skin crawlingly distasteful that celebrities come on television and ask us all to give cash because our society isn't able to support those in need. Then, at the end of the night, we somehow find it a thing of wonder that we have extracted millions of pounds from the British public to fund wonderful initiatives that we otherwise felt fell outside our fiscal and social responsibility.
It's just wrong, and we all (including me) fall for it every year because we also know that if we didn't fund these charities then they wouldn't get funded at all.

Without him, we would’ve been relegated last season and that would’ve been £10m plus lost in revenue. He’s more than paid his fee back, despite his minimal game time IMO.

Not denying there was possibly a shortage in some areas, however it didn't need the national coverage it received which has seen everyone run to the pumps.

Is a good point, but is it THE point?
Comedy has always been subjective - some hate McIntyre, millions love him; what I find funny others will not; I wouldn't cross the street to watch Frankie Boyle, others think he's a comedy hero.
The point, I think, is that in days past if you didn't like what a comedian said or found them funny, you didn't watch, didn't laugh or didn't buy a ticket. At most you wrote a stiff letter to the BBC.  Nowadays, you write something on social media about being offended and then find 20 other people that you've never met before that think the same, or who daren't disagree with you.  Before you know it there's a thousand more from around the world - some of whom will never have seen or heard what has been said but are just reacting to the reports and say they are disgusted.  That then gives the appearance that millions of people agree, that the whole world is disgusted and to which comedians and commissioners and politicians and other media personalities (except Piers Morgan) have to react in the only way they know.  By banning/not repeating said jokes or comments, which are then effectively censored.  You therefore no longer have the right to tell what jokes you like, unless you want public opprobrium or a career on the fringes or become a very 'safe' comedian like Tim Vine.

Any country as long as the player is good enough and meets the work permit criteria. All that has changed is that all countries are now treated the same (except for additional points given for countries of a higher footballing standard). I'm sure Brentford will continue bringing in players from here there and everywhere so why can't we do the same?

What makes Derby fans or pp intimidating?  We saw it at Wembley v Villa, a quiet family club.  We probably did better without the fans in the ground I’m sorry to say.  Away support can sound massive in a half empty ground.  Or am I being unfair?

Not sure to be honest, I think with a pre season in place this squad should finish mid table. With a couple of additions, then the play offs could be a possibility, not because we are a good team but the standard of this league is poor, confidence is a massive factor.

Was at a party last night, got talking to this chap who claimed to have been a very famous pop star in the 1980s. He told me he'd had lots of hits, including "Friend or Foe", "Goody Two Shoes", and "Prince Charming".

I wasn't convinced, but he was adamant.
