MikeS reacted to HorsforthRam in Jozwiak
He’s a young lad that’s trying to make a go of plying his trade in a foreign country in a tough league saddled with an expensive transfer fee.
He’s also playing in a struggling side that lacks a character on the pitch to put his arm around him. The last thing he needs is being abused by people that probably have no clue whatsoever about how much character he’s already shown to cross that white line.

It's probably severely dented Samuelson's chance to do business with football clubs in future. Up-front, anyway. It will probably not help us, just being associated with this guy and the overall tenor of the programme. Just unfortunate Mel chose to consider doing business with this company two years ago. The man did have a seemingly useful track record at the time. Anyway, the EFL didn't come out of it, smelling of roses.

The EFL aren't coming out of this good at all are they.

I've been away, and the last I heard was on the night when David said he would post his report the following morning. Came on here today expecting to read some details, but am I right in concluding that nothing of substance has actually been reported back?
If David's place at the meeting was as a representative of this forum, then it does beg the question as to "what was the point?"

A relatively common view about the BBC, and a complerely wrong one. The single most important broadcaster in the world purely because the way we fund it means it can't be bought. What bias there is there comes from the very slightly left of centre and liberal mentality which comes from being staffed by educated British people.

Investors are not purchasers, for your further information they are investors, also any SPA would have a clause that the club was debt free at the point of signing that SPA.
Selling the club does not circumvent FFP, in fact if it was sold debt free that would render FFP non applicable.
Your faux outrage at everything to do with the club is very boring.

MikeS reacted to cheron85 in Has the transfer embargo been lifted?
I fully confess to not being a financial wizard - But I don't understand how Morris could commit to funding the club for a year before the EFL have confirmed our accounting method is correct? If they ask us to change the accounting method again then it might be the difference of hundreds of thousands of pounds extra which he'd have to put in - Asking him to write a blank cheque at this point seems a bit odd/unfair?
Feels quite chicken and egg to me - The EFL want Morris to say he'll support the club for the season but haven't given us the means to calculate how much that would cost him / whether it's feasible

Amongst all this nonsense though, a nod to Curtis Davies. He's seen his fair share of bullcrap in his time here and is still willing to stick by us.
What a guy.

Completely agree. Haven't seen an exclusive out of the local journos for years. The majority of the DET is clickbait/ regurgitated tweets/ info on ex players/managers. They should have been all over this. How Nixon (if he indeed does) knows more than these guys is beyond me. The only thing they do that is somewhat useful is the match write ups/live commentary and interviews, but even those are superseeded by this forum, Rams TV and Twitter.

The club is in crisis. On the eve of a new season without a squad.
Steve Nicholson regurgitates Alan Nixon's stories and the Punjabi Rams tweets. With nothing added, no investigative journalism at all.
Ed Dawes from Radio Derby is asking for mock ups of Messi in a Derby shirt.
That's our local press. The ones we should rely on to get answers.
We're a joke.

Stupid question and am sure there's I hope s good reason....why does the club want to check any report regards the content of the meeting before it gets sent out presumably to censor or vet it when they could just send out a press release themselves that they are happy with?
It just doesn't make any sense to me at all.

Here's a good example of the sort of thing he likes to put out there...
What does this actually mean? It's just so vague!
It's like the people who share Dalai Lama quotes on LinkedIn - completely and utterly meaningless insight.

MikeS reacted to Allen in Wayne Rooney
Honestly feel the best thing he can do is resign. I think he is one of a dwindling number who feel he can make something of the awful situation we're in. Think we need an experienced head not someone learning their trade. Having said that would love to see Curtis involved in the new setup. We desperately need to restore some pride and credibility to the club and think Curtis would help to do that whilst learning the ropes. Got a feeling he'll make a top manager one day.

MikeS reacted to SouthernRam in Wayne Rooney
The man is entirely trading on the back of his name now, if he wasn’t before. Utterly shambolic.
- Looked lazy and unfit as a player.
- Undermined the previous manager.
- Recorded an exceptionally poor run of results as a manager.
- Instills absolutely no playing style as manager, benching / playing our best youngsters out of position, ultimately regressing their progress and value.
- A poor communicator, both with the players, fans and media.
- Repeatedly drags the club’s name through the mud.
At what point does it become worth shelling out to sack him? Purely from a footballing perspective, we’re crying out for an experienced manager. Rooney has done far more harm than good. If replacing him keeps us up is it really too expensive?

MikeS reacted to MuespachRam in Wayne Rooney
Oh in that case let’s sack Rooney. In fact burn him alive…
sibley is average, if he played for Reading you wouldn’t be the slightest bit bothered about him playing against you. He needs to work out how to tackle before he does anything else.

MikeS reacted to Mr Tibbs in Wayne Rooney
I sympathise with him, he's been taken advantage of for sure. But how many more times does he have to be put through the ringer before he takes himself out of these situations? Until he gets a bit of self control I'm not sure he should really be manager of a football club.
My views are biased as I'm just not arsed about him being our manager, I'm just fed up. Things like this are easily avoidable if you act like a rational person IMO.

It would only ever be the manager of Derby County that would come out with a speech like that then not 24 hours later getting farted on whilst he snoozed in a dingy hotel room with a woman with her arse out.
It's genuinely magic how all of this lined up. Derby County magic.

It's all very embarrassing really.... scantily clad women all around and our manager asleep in a chair ffs... we can't score on the pitch or off it, it seems

MikeS got a reaction from Hector was the best in The EFL at it again? Blocking signings?
Yet again, we have no idea what is going on. Is it fair of Rooney to come out and make some oblique comments about needing help from inside and outside the club? Help regarding what exactly? There's no point in making comments with no substance.
The situation is turning into a farce. The club are saying nowt and seems frozen in the face of adversity. It has zero communication and involvement with supporters. Meanwhile, the EFL may have changed stance yet again. If so, this organisation is out of control and needs bringing into the real world. Let's hope that the move to bring in an independent regulator with oversight of football's so-called 'authorities' goes through quickly.

He just paid out to let the team stay down south for a week. If money was that tight, they wouldn't have gone.

MikeS reacted to VulcanRam in It's not 5 it's 4! Choose again.
Two centre halves and two strikers, midfield looks sufficient and full backs we're strong. We won't get sufficient goals from Lawrence or Joswiak, which only leaves CKR. Without more goals in the team we'll be in the same position as we were last season, or worse.
