Honestly believe that an injury free Wilshere would have been the difference between us winning something under Southgate and not.

Oh come onnnn… we had Grant playing through injury, Dawkins off with bereavement, Whitbread, Bucko, Thorne, Mascarell, Eustace and Martin all missing the majority of the run in. There were niggles on top of that, Bent missed games, Russell missed games, Bryson missed a couple.

Happy for Big Dave and a 90+ point team out of the division.

Thought it was common knowledge that Davies didn’t sign Earnshaw. Having missed out on Nugent and Kenwyne Jones, Earnshaw was a ‘present’.

Meh, that was my argument for not selling Howard as well, at the time. I think I actually preferred Hulse though. He did it in a bad Derby side. Howard did it in a good one.

Suppose it’s all relative though. We spent £25,000,000 under Clement, when that was still a bewildering amount of money, and got worse.
How much of it was down to him is a question for another day.

Not having Cyrus Christie. He was immense in his first three months and was second in POTS in 15/16.
Start of 16/17 and the fans are in his back for some reason.

Granty away at Brighton. It wasn’t the volume of the shots he saved but every one was a screamer.
Martin first half against Wolves in 15/16 was as good a performance from as #9 as you’ll ever see.
The Didzy hat trick this season when he and Collins won penalties for each other… he was taking the absolute piss at time. In fact, against Wednesday the other week he was a man possessed and tried everything he possibly could to drag us over the line.
Curtis taming Mitrovic when we best Fulham 1-0 in the first leg.
Barker coming on injured second half against Leeds in 10/11.
Slightly bending my own rules here but Seth in the play-offs.

I was listening to a podcast with him a few years ago.
He was going to sign for us but Blackburn sold him the dream. So he was going to phone Arthur saying he was joining Blackburn instead.
Arthur rang him first and said “if you were my son I’d be telling you to sign for Blackburn”.

Is being the weakest link in the best Derby team of, at least, the last 22 years really that much of a criticism?

Still think he was vastly under-appreciated as a left-back for us. 
In his first two seasons he was the best arguably the best left-back in the division, only Charlie Daniels really would also be in contention.
He came back from his first two ACL injuries to win his place back from Olsson who had been Blackburn’s POTS before joining us.
He then fought off £3,000,000 signing Scott Malone, who himself was coming off of being named in the league TOTS and a season in the Prem to keep his starting place before his third ACL.
I never got it. He’s one of those players that when he has a stinker he has a STINKER but they were always only ever once or twice a season.
