In hindsight… think he was another Patrick Roberts. Quite capable of easily beating three players but little end product.

    Nah, about the same
Martin was a better finisher and better at hold-up play. Diddzy’s more mobile and hard-working.
Always used to say Martin was a 9.5, not quite a 9 or a 10.
    I think it’s more accurate to say Diddzy’s a 9.75 and Martin’s a 9.25

Really nice ball into midfield for the goal, especially considering Wildsmith played him into trouble

Closest I’ve been to invading the pitch and giving his knee a stamp ?

I had him down as a technically sound Conor Sammon.
The guy’s a magician. He’s a proper throwback to a Beardsley/Zola/Bergkamp type. You don’t see many #10s who swing more to being a CF anymore, they’re normally advanced midfielders now.
    Love watching him.

You’d argue that Bielik’s best spell for us was when Rooney had him playing as rampaging midfield destroyer in a 442.
Suppose it would be a question of whether he still has the legs.

It’s all or bust for England Saturday.
We have over half a season to rectify not winning an away game.
Then take into account we’re more likely to beat Burton that England are France.
    No brainier for me.

I don’t normally like having a pop but would Radio Derby be better with neutrals rather than fans?
Ed Dawes describing Sibley as “out of his depth” first half? He’s a #10 playing almost as far out of position as possible.
Gibson and Dawes making a point out if Hourihane and Cashin arguing… it’s football? I had an argument with my mate tonight at 6-a-side, it’s not that deep.
Hammering the players for the first half and reckoning they needed a kick up the arse… change of shape nothing to do with that?

I don’t even think his passing’s that dodgy.
He just sees the right ball when he’s not good enough to pull it off.
His trademark ball at left-back was a straight ball down the channel that would curl into the strikers run - barely worked but we’d be in behind whenever it did.

That's a big part of it IMO, along with forcing the ball forwards too often meaning we struggle to keep it.
The pen against Torquay all comes because the midfield 2 getting dragged out of position, chasing the ball.  Hourihane is off chasing their left back down, and when he breaks past him Bird gets dragged over to close him down, leaving a spare man in the middle of the pitch. When the ball is passed to him, he has all the time to do whatever he wants, and he picks out a pass to the guy Cashin fouls.
Obviously that doesn't completely excuse Cashin fouling the guy, and it doesn't explain the moment-of-madness handballs etc, but at least half of the penalties are ultimately due to us allowing opposing players to dribble at us, in our box.  If you keep forcing the ball forwards you'll give it away more.  And if you have your midfield chasing all over the place, there will be times when they get bypassed, and that results in players getting free run to dribble/pass into our box.  And if that happens often enough, you'll give penalties away.  And while some of the refereeing decisions are clearly bad, if you keep having to make last ditch tackles on guys in your box, you're making the ref make decisions.

Another thing is, it’s the first time we’ve played without at least one designated holding midfielder in nine years (apart from maybe Rooney’s first season).
The midfield two are expected to act as high-intensity pistons. There’s nobody screening the defence.
Teams keep getting a run at them.
