  1. Hard to know where to start.  Reading the news of his passing really rocked me.  To then read all the pages over the last day or so has brought me tears to several times.  I couldn’t do them all in one sitting, too emotional.  The words and memories listed over all these pages should hopefully bring some small comfort to all his family and friends.  What a testament to the man, that so many who only knew him through this forum had such a strong bond and affinity for him.

I hope his parents take enormous pride at what a stunning job they did in raising such as beautiful human being, who clearly touched so many lives.  His strength and empathy to reach out to others and offer solace in their hour of need, whilst going through dark times himself speaks volumes to the person he was.

He has left a mark on this world that many can only dream off.  Normally when someone passes, it is marked on social media sites with RIP and other one word or one line comments, the fact that so many are so detailed, people who haven’t posted for years signing back in, people creating accounts for the sole purpose of paying their respects, just demonstrates what high esteem his was held in by so many.

I’ve fallen out of love with football recently for various reasons and have only been twice this season despite being a season ticket holder. The passing of B4 though has ensured I will be attending the Bristol Rovers game, hopefully some of that B4 passion will find its way back to me and reignite my love.  I will stand and applaud our friend and with no shame I will have a tears rolling down my cheeks.

Go easy brother, love a fellow Ram xxx

  2. The sad part is I won't even be that upset if we lose, due to the absolute thrashing we'd get in the semis.  The quarters will all be competitive, the semi not so much, then a cracking final, where I think it will be France v Ireland.

Have a worry that the All Blacks might just have one big performance in them though, hope I'm wrong.

  3. Devastating news.  This will be one of those moments for me, where I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news.  Loved listening to him talk and seeing him do his master classes, where kids sent clips in of their techniques and he'd give them advice and tips.  You could tell he loved the game and just came across as a good bloke.  RIP.

  4. Starts today and I can't wait.  A welcome distraction from the football!

The French favourites but Ireland look good as well.  With the exception of Italy I expect some good games.  Wales look a little depleted and Scotland continuing to steadily improve.

Not sure about England, maybe 3rd.  Table prediction below :

    Ireland

    France

    England

    Scotland

    Wales

    Italy

In true B4 style, what do you guys think?

  5. The reason we are where we are, is clearly down to 2 chancers trying to shake us down for whatever they can get, under the Trojan horse of the moral high ground and that cheats should not  prosper.

Time to test that moral high ground.

Not sure if it's legal or possible, but could the local MP's try and get the sports minister and treasury together.  As things stand (I believe), we owe HMRC £28 million and are offering 25p in the pound, so £7m.

Could they put forward a case that they could use that money to pay off the two parasites, £5m to Boro say and £2m to Wycombe.

Make that public, they then have a choice, either take the money and take a massive hit on public perception for taking from the public purse, a real bad look, or they want save face publicly and decline the payout, as it isn't in the public interest, saving face but not profiting from our situation.

The caveat to HMRC from the politicians being that in the grand scheme of things, £7m would be a drop in the ocean to maintain DCFC, due to its importance to the local economy for the next 138 years.

All avenues should be explored if legal.

  6. I have a neighbour that if I went into too much detail would break the swear filter on here!!

Verbal assault, physical assault, false reports to social services for child abuse. All the police do is tell you take a log of events. The physical assault was the most recent. Restrained myself as she's a woman but her husband is just as bad. Rang the police as soon as it happened and said they needed to send an officer asap. Got told they were busy as I'd understand, to which I replied it's 7pm on a Wednesday, so no I don't.  Explained that if they didn't send someone I was going round to murder them both. Used the word murder several times to provoke a police response. 8 days and 3 phone calls later I got a call back, but to this day no visit!

Turns out another bordering property, a single mum with 2 kids has had all the same things as me and a hell of a lot worse!

I went round to offer her support and gave her my details, just in case her dad couldn't get there quick enough in the future.

The police told her to take a log as well.

This has been going on for years with us both.

I can handle the mind games and the verbals, but the moment she brought kids into it changed the game.  Had a new £600 CCTV system installed a few weeks ago, just to give my wife some additional assurance.

Had many a friend offer to sort it for me as the police won't or can't, but I don't want to stoop to that level.

Looked into moving but as she now has ASBO's and its been reported to the police, we would have declare this to the new buyers, which usually means 10/15% knocked off the house value.

There's a hundred other things as well, but this has just done it for me.

I genuinely hate the pair of them.

Not sure if it's a thing or not really, but made a 2.00AM snack last night which was super tasty. Fried some stale bread doorstops in olive oil and salt then covered in mozzarella, chopped spring onions, homemade pesto and lots of black pepper. Like a chunky bruschetta type deal.

Not sure what inspired it but it worked really well and only took 5 or 6 mins to make, if that. Cheap too!

How many into your 86 schmokes were you at 2am?

I just think it's a bit of a mockery of how dangerous the sport can be once you introduce pro rules.

I expect them both to gas out early. That muscle and weight will use their energy within a round I reckon.

One of them to be on his arse before the end of the 3rd. Probably just pummeled to the floor and be more tired than hurt.

That's why professional fights with unprofessional fighters don't appeal to me. They're just street brawls and if you've ever been in a fight in your life then you'll know they don't last more than a few minutes max and with the adrenaline rushes and no breathing technique you're ruined. Shaky legs, jelly arms etc.

I think this fight will be especially awful because of the size of them and they're built for short bursts of huge amounts of power.

    Bit of a kill joy aren't I?

Maybe, but you speak the truth.

I’ve been living with depression for nearly 20 years now. There’s been the good times and the bad times. 2019 was the worst. Both my kids are autistic.

My son got excluded from his special needs school in 2018. We went round every special needs school in Derbyshire, to be told not one of them could meet his needs. In short, the problems we had with my son were huge. We ended up getting a disability social worker and being tagged as a family in crisis.

In the end Derbyshire Council are having to pay for him to go to a private school in Nottingham. Which isn’t cheap ?

The difference in him at the new school was huge. So then we had the battle of just getting my daughter a diagnosis. For whatever reasons it’s a lot harder to get girls diagnosed. Her school were dismissive of anything being wrong  and extremely unhelpful. Eventually we got the diagnosis and she went up to junior school, who were much more helpful.

Then my partners sister passed away after a long illness at just 30. Obviously it was difficult for all of us. But my son found it really difficult, and the old problems were back. The last month he got back to where he was.

Me personally. I was on the brink when I went back to see my doctor. Who signed me off work. 4 months later and I’m no closer to being ready to go back and starting to get stressed about what I’m going to do about work.

my depression is just something I have. Ive done the counselling and basically been told I just have to manage. The amount of stress I’ve got going on is making that seem impossible a lot of the time.

ive started writing a blog, basically about me trying to deal with life having 2 kids with autism. Which is helping me get what’s on my mind out into “the universe” (or something like that) and getting into the “autism community” on twitter. Getting to know other parents who know what it’s like, which has been good.

Anyway this has been me getting things off my mind again....cheers ?

I fully understand this post mate.  My lad is autistic as well as having spina bifida.  We've had loads of battles over the years with school and the local authority and I have had those same blank faces looking back at me, so I feel your pain.  I'm lucky in that the wife is phenomenal and deals with pretty much everything, I just get rolled out if she thinks she might lose her poo and needs a calm head ,or needs me to use big words.

Not saying I can offer anything other than the quite brilliant advice @Alpha has already given (think he's missed his vocation in life reading through this thread!), but if there's anything specific I can help with (by I, I actually mean the wife), then drop me a message.

Good luck, stay strong and remember your not alone.

In other news I'm with you, @Alpha and @Mostyn6 on the DIY front, maybe we should set up a group and one weekend a month we can all take turns helping each other further butcher our house's!

So, are we giving Csmpbell a chance at all against Lomachenko?

In a word, no.  See it going the same way as the Crolla fight, hope I'm wrong though.
