I can see us not losing too many games this season.
I was really impressed with Sonny Bradley against Chesterfield - looked strong and dominant, whilst his reading of the game looked excellent. He had anticipated pretty much every attack and was there to tidy up.
Not a last ditch tackle in sight.

They have made more attacking signings than we have, something that Warne highlighted as a priority.
They have signed the strike force of a team who narrowly avoided relegation and failed to score in a third of their games.
In a combined 99 appearances, they scored 19 between them last season.
I somehow don’t feel overly concerned that we have “missed out” on a couple of bang average third division strikers who appear to be near their ceiling.

I think people are getting a little too hooked on transfer fees.
If you look at the budget, I would expect our outlay on wages for the 7 signings to be significantly higher than the majority of other teams in this division.
Ergo our spend is greater than most of our competition in this division. -

Once he starts banging the goal’s in nobody will give a stuff about the past.
Similar to Robbie Savage - everybody loved to see the back of him after his last 2 seasons.FTFY

Absolutely loved watching Knight play.
Guaranteed to put in 100% effort and covered the pitch with his running.
Also, his ability to draw a foul was something I have never seen done so well. The number of times he relieved pressure by getting in front of a player and getting himself fouled was verging on comical.
I wish him all the best.

Need to see it in the flesh but will most probably buy one for my 67th birthday soon. Have seen the Plymouth kit and that is absolute mint!
Mint green? More emerald, I’d say

I have always harboured two ambitions for Derby County:
a) see them play in Europe
b) see them win at Wembley
Technically, I did see them play in Italy for the Anglo/Italian Cup, and would have seen them in 1988, were it not for getting banned due to Liverpool fans rioting.
They have won at Wembley twice in my lifetime, Charity Shield against West Ham when I was too young and WBA in the playoffs, when I was in Borneo. I have seen every defeat in my lifetime though…
I would still like to achieve these, but fear that it will never come to pass…

In fairness, it’s much cooler than pretty much any alternative sponsor.
Think how many shirts we’d sell with Niall Horan written across the front of a Derby shirt!

I don’t get the hatred towards Keogh.
He was a very good player for us for years, and quite rightly sued us for extremely poor conduct as an employer. I appreciate his conduct was poor on the night, however if any of us were injured by a co-worker’s actions and we were then asked to forfeit pay and then sacked for not accepting, we would do the same to our employer, especially when our more culpable co-worker got a slap on the wrist.
We all know that if he wasn’t injured, he wouldn’t have been sacked.
That said, signing for that lot…. BOOOO!!!

I don’t really have much time to listen to podcasts, but after listening to the David Clowes interview and given the chance I might try one out…
My question is that there seems to be so many options (like forums!), so does anyone have any opinions on where to start? e.g. are there any that are particularly good/poor?
i have found so far via a quick search:

Any others?

Just noticed that Di’shon Bernard and Joel Latibeaudiere are both playing for Jamaica in the Gold Cup, so we won’t see movement on them for a week or two yet…
-
You don’t know what his situation is -it could be that he still lives in the south east and has a settled family.
At his age, maybe that is more important to him than signing for a bigger team?
If he arrives here, then great, however if not we’ll cheer on somebody else…

Oh my god! We have missed out on Harvey Knibbs who scored 1 goal every 8 appearances last season.
We have also missed out on Dan Agyei and Jamie Pardington to some of the “lesser lights” in this division today!
We must be a laughing stock as these players were available and we have been beaten to all their signatures!!
They’d better get their act together otherwise the pub team I play for will beat Derby for my signature too!

I really do like that kit, however I still can’t get my head around how it still clashes with a white kit.
I always hated matches against Newcastle when they wore their home shirts against us for that reason.

Linked here, as a loan move.

He is certainly a good player, but he has been a colossal waste of money.
It’s a little disappointing that you couldn’t really see him for dust when an opportunity to get away came up.
Despite probably being our most expensive signing, I doubt he’ll be really remembered in a handful of years.

Collins had countless chances at 9 with McGoldrick at 10, though.
Not sure McGoldrick is the right player for closing down and stretching play with his runs though…

IF he signs, I’ll be alright with the signing and will give him a fair crack of the whip When he was playing at this level with Peterborough, he was as seen as a multi-million pound player to QPR.
Put him in the right system and he will make a fair few fans on here eat humble pie.
And I believe Collins will work well with him, as I do believe he is an excellent finisher, but wasn’t played in the right way, hence his criticism. Get someone to act as his grafting foil and we might see a different player.

I thought that. Billy Caskey and Vic Moreland - the horror! But I remembered back then we were in the top flight and should not have been fishing in that lake, but now we're in the third division, so it seems more appropriate.
As a little kid, I remember that I used to pretend to be Billy Caskey when I played football on my front lawn…
I told my dad about that a few years ago. His response was “You poor b******”

If we are signing a player that creates space and forces mistakes from defenders, then I’m more than happy to see him in a Derby shirt.
If he can do that without looking like he’s doing it in concrete boots, even better.
Talking of Collins, he may be the best finisher in the club, so if we can bring in someone else to do his running, it gives him opportunity to play in the areas where he is most dangerous.

I never really liked that checkered blue “Maxwell” kit.
Looks ugly - even when it has Ted McMinn wearing it and dismantling Spurs…

Apologies for being “that guy”, but if Kiki van Zanten is starting for Jamaica, I’ll be watching!
