100% that’s the best midfield 3 in this division so don’t change it. I also thought with no Collins up top we had to play it to feet more today and let’s hope they continue with that as most teams can’t live with us when we do. ??

Excellent performance. Some headaches for Warne incoming as the balance of the side looked great in that opening 20-30 without Collins and also without NML (one of our best players this season). Knight has to find a way into this side, some how, some way.
Absolutely stupid by Osula and a shame as we could have still got 1-2 more at that point, shades of Collins getting sent off earlier in the season, brainless.
Ref was beyond useless. Soft yellows which the game didn't warrant, 2 penalty kicks not given, one for them, one for us, and gave nothing for McG all game.

So now give Didzy a rest and give Osula a decent run out.

We really benefit from Knight's drives forward with the ball.

Fla Ram reacted to therams69 in Return of the away singing block
Afternoon all
Happy New Year..
This has been discussed for a while. Those that have done all or even some of the away games this year should be able to relate to this. The atmosphere has not been good enough for the numbers that we taking. Bolton was the tipping block and there are many reasons behind it.
So for every away game with the club's backing we are going back to the dedicated singing block. Not the best terminology but the only wording that can officially be used. This was a great success around the 2017 era.
This is simply a block for those fans that are like minded and want to improve the atmosphere. Its not a block where the singing will only be (obviously) but important that point is made clear. Its also not a block where the only standing will be.
Don't read too much into it. The cringe comments will come, no doubt, but this is needed after a good evaluation this season. Like minded fans cannot get together due to the membership scheme. By the club facilitating this it means that fans who wish to be vocal all game can be together with like minded fans as they will know where to buy their tickets. Likewise, if you don't want to be part of that and just watch the game (like many do) it also gives you the opportunity to be away from this section.
The drum at away games where allowed will also be returning. Not everyone's cup of tea, I know, but let's be honest you can't please everyone in 2023 and is actually a massive help with tempo and volume in the stands. End of the day its about backing the lads vocally and giving them that extra % which is sometimes needed in a game.
This is already available for the next away game which is Port Vale. A good 4k going as well. Details on the block are on the dcfc website.
Club84 will be the catalysts behind this. Give them your backing. They have been great at displays over the last couple of years and improving the atmosphere away, and at home.

Fla Ram reacted to RoyMac5 in Thank you Mr Clowes.
"Clowes stepped in after a protracted sale of the Rams to the American businessman Chris Kirchner fell through with a deal wrapped up quickly. "On July 1, 2022, following a very short period of due diligence, the group incorporated a new company to acquire the assets and business of Derby County Football Club from the administrators, Quantuma.
It also acquired the Pride Park Stadium from the former owner in a separate company. "As a major investor and property owner in the East Midlands, the directors considered that the potential liquidation of the local city football club was not in the best interests of the group or those of the city of Derby itself.
The group considered it had a corporate social responsibility to the local economy of Derby and could not stand by and let the football club fail. "The directors consider that this is a medium-term investment to return the football club to stability and add significant value to the initial cost of circa £60m."

We don’t have the luxury of a squad, we basically have a first XI and 2 or three subs. Normally I’d agree but sod all the cups off and go all in on promotion. What would we do if Bird have a season ending injury against Newport? When we actually have a squad go for it but not this season.

Been pleasantly surprised by Derby no matter how this ends.
Warne has them fighting hard and well organized.
I'm optimistic.

Fla Ram reacted to Caerphilly Ram in Best signings so far
What is the obsession with Dobbin? How has he upset you so much? The majority of your posts seem to be aimed purely at criticising him.
Dobbin was signed by Rosenior to seemingly add some pace and youth to the side alongside the older, permanent signings in midfield/attack. He’s a 19 year old playing his first season of senior football, there aren’t many examples who walk into a side and are instant world beaters or play at the top level, and given our situation in the summer we couldn’t attract those to the club anyway. The better loan players are taken by clubs further up the pyramid and often involve loan fees (which we couldn’t /cannot pay).
It seems neither Rosenior nor subsequently Warne see him as first choice, he is one option in our limited squad and puts effort in whenever he plays. Due to Barkhuizen’s injury Dobbin is playing more regularly of late. He has 1 goal and 3 assists in his 18 appearances, which isn’t the best output in the world, however he almost added to both today which shows signs of progress.
He is a young player at the start of his career who can learn and develop plenty more. People paid to pick and coach footballers professionally rate him. We all understand you don’t like him, not sure anyone is certain why that is.
He is a Derby County player for the season and I for one will continue supporting him and his efforts for the team as we continue to recover.

Fla Ram reacted to Jourdan in Liverpool v Derby (A) Matchday Thread
Given how small and stretched the squad is and given we lost 6-0 on our last visit, that’s a very creditable performance.
We have to take encouragement. Any version of Liverpool at Anfield should beat a top half League 1 side in 90 minutes.
The fact they didn’t speaks volumes.
A win v MK Dons and things are looking up.

Fla Ram reacted to Caerphilly Ram in Liverpool v Derby (A) Matchday Thread
Our press just won a corner from them. We’ve made it to half time having had a few corners and a couple of half chances with the scores level, in my humble view it’s not as “embarrassing” as you’ve made out.
The reality of where we are as a club means there’s a gulf in class, if we were in the championship that would still be the case. Liverpool have recently won the premier league and the champions league and are one of the biggest clubs in the country with vast resources at their disposal. I’m enjoying the grit and resilience the lads are showing

Fla Ram reacted to Bris Vegas in Derby County v Bristol Rovers Saturday 29 October 2022
Unless you have a team full of engines, three at the back is far too defensive for this league as half the team ends up being behind the ball.
How refreshing was it to have four attacking players up there, pressing, interchanging, charging the channels, forcing errors.
When we played it long, it was literally a 50-50. You can’t say that when we play three at the back as the wingbacks are too deep to press.

Fla Ram reacted to SamUltraRam in Comparison with 1985/86 Div 3 promotion season - game by game
I thought i'd show a comparison to our promotion season from this division in 1985/86 for a bit of fun. I'll try to do it game by game if there's any interest to read it.
Game number 9 was a 2 - 0 away win at Cardiff City & took us to 13 points - so we're ahead of that. Attendance was just 3,435 at Ninian Park
We'd just beaten Div 1 Leicester City 2 - 0 in the 1st leg of the Milk Cup
It appears that you could only name 1 substitute then as well which surprised me
Starting lineup:
Goalkeeper Mark Wallington
Right back Charlie Palmer
Central defender Rob Hindmarch
Central Defender Ross Maclaren
Left back Steve Buckley
Midfielder Steve McClaren
Winger/Midfielder Gary Micklewhite
Midfielder Geraint Williams
Forward Trevor Christie
Forward Bobby Davison
Winger/Midfielder Jeff Chandler
Substitutions: Paul Blades for Steve McClaren

I just want to say how lucky you are to have Paul Warne as manager. I've supported the millers for 69 years. Obviously, I've seen managers come and go during that period. As far as I'm concerned, and many other fans Warne is the best manager we've had.
Like Derby fans we went through some dark times. Administration points deducted, lost our ground, forced to play in Sheffield in an athletic stadium. No atmosphere, 4 years in the 4th division.
Paul has many qualities. Excellent staff management, a workaholic. He's articulate, honest and will live and breathe Derby County.
I thank him for all the memories, 3 Wembley wins 3 promotions and I wish him well and as a consequence wish the Rams well. I've never had a second team, but for the first time Derby County will be my second team. I look forward to seeing Paul succeed.
Hopefully Derby will be promoted and we survive in the championship and look forward to see you at the New York stadium.
All the best.
