Acknowledge your part in something, show remorse and apologise for it, take your punishment on the chin, show strength and character by overcoming personal trauma (after accepting help, a step many never even reach) and work your way into a position where the rest of the squad respects you, your manager respects you and you might just get rewarded for it.
Rooney's made positive comments about how Lawrence has been with the squad during his time as manager. He was already 'redeemed' in the eyes of those within the club. The captaincy isn't redemption, it's a footballing decision. It may not be a decision we agree with looking in from the outside, but it is the decision that's been made.
I think it's important who the captain is if they've been the captain for 3, 4, 5+ years and had a defence built around them, but the way we handed it around last made it almost valueless.  Often when a new manager takes over at a club one of the first things they'll do is seek out the captain to give him a lowdown on the character of the squad, there's power in the role.
Power that I'm glad someone who refuses to do any of the above (and shows exactly what sort of character he really is) no longer has.
Whether you like Lawrence or not, he's made mistakes and the people closest to the situation feel that he's learned from them and is a better person now. 2 years later I'd rather have him at the club than the greedy ****** crying about things being 'unfair' and who still hasn't apologised for his actions because it would have harmed his undeserved payout.

The higher up the pitch u play the more attention u come under .. if ur starting from deep it gives u license and clearer picture of where the space is to exploit 
Playing higher up the pitch with a defender up ur arse is a totally different proposition to playing from deep with everything infront of u 
there’s a back catalogue of quick winger type full backs who u think can they play higher up due to their feet , speed and technique .. truth is it’s a totally different ball game

Aye, kinda works. I'd say mostly works but with some small caveats.
The only problem (if you can even call it that) is that there's very little discussion of anything that's going on at Forest on there - they can't discuss Derby on the Derby threads so they discuss Derby on the Forest thread, so essentially the thread may as well just be on the Derby boards! 
I know we're in a bad position, glass houses, stones etc so can't really laugh at them, but it could still provide some light relief that it doesn't at the minute. 
I'm not planning to sign up to any Forest forums as an away fan (an alien concept to me tbh) but reading that thread I have absolutely no idea how Forest are shaping up for the season, how they're going to improve on last season (they only scored 3(?) more goals than us), how they're feeling about their own chances this season (usually there's some delusion to prey on!) or anything like that.
...tbf I could probably help with that by asking these questions there instead of talking about it here! Also I have no alternative to offer.

Yeah  at least on something like Naked Attraction (I don't watch it per se just see clips on other shows) you get all sorts of people, although I supposed there's a binding narcissism across both shows.
LI is another one of those shows where people who have no need to go on any sort of 'dating' show but do so just to show off - just like those who can afford to spend £500k in a house but for down reason need expert advice - they probably give some sort of sob story of being single for, what, a year, two years (by single they mean shagged about 8 people but haven't entered into a relationship) but...
I dunno, never ever seen an episode, never wanted to see an episode and if I'm in an office and people start talking about it I'll make a very obvious point of sticking some earphones in and ignoring the conversation until they appear to have shut the duck up about it. 

Love Island could be fun trash TV if they weren't all fake plastic wannabe celebrities. I'd say the last 5-10 years we've tried to promote positive body image and showing girls how a natural look is beautiful. All the women on that show have had at least one surgery. The majority of them have them lip filters. The men have six packs, teeth whitening kits, the same fade haircuts. It's horrible. 
Get some realistic down to earth people in there. I dont want to see fame hungry people looking for a boo hoo or jacamo endorsement deal.

Been slightly hit and miss with mask wearing tbh, or rather... I've worn it at busy times (80% of the time?)  but had a couple of late visits to supermarkets when there's only about ten people in the whole store and I haven't worn it unless I'm using a staffed checkout.  Still sanitised hands and trolleys/baskets etc and given everyone space... even when there's practically nobody there!
I do strangely feel more uncomfortable (physically, probably psychosomatic tbh, can't help it - I was a lot more comfortable when things were mandatory!) wearing one when I look around and see others not; others think they're going to be judged for not wearing one my mind says I'm being judged for wearing one, but it would also be thinking I was being judged for not wearing one if I wasn't!

Fair comment, and some did ask those questions at the time.
You have to remember that we would have had to also foreseen a global pandemic and the EFL performing a u turn years later and deciding the accounts they signed off on are no longer ok.
Had both of these not happened, we would not be sat here in this situation now regardless of what has been spent in the past.
The funny thing is, beat Villa at Wembley, Mel is a hero, even the haters will have started to turn, meanwhile Villa are no longer in receipt of parachute payments, in a world of trouble with FFP, Grealish goes for like £40m as they go on to have a fire sale. 
The club that signed Lansbury from Forest to not play him and pay him what was it, 60k a week wages to see him leave the club on a free.

Mengi was basically a young Wisdom if anybody, honestly  if he wasn't black and young I'm not sure anyone would be comparing him to Fikayo (or Andre!)

This happened to us at the Man United friendly. A steward said it happened to a few people & we had to pop round to the window that sorts such things on match days  (sorry don’t know what it’s called). Wasn’t a problem at all though, very easily resolved

I reckon they did it deliberately! Oh come on mate, things haven't been easy for them, cut them a little slack - you might find you prefer your new seat or you see things from a different angle?! ? #COYR

As other have said, very straightforward. Most difficult bit was trying to remember our seat numbers.

I've booked my usual seats.
Not because I like them particularly, I just want to see who didn't make it through.

Whilst I would have paid it under the circumstances, I think the club have made the right and fair decision to NOT charge the £1 admin fee for online bookings for those of us who were planning to cash in our "Freebie" season ticket this season.
Right and fair... but under the circumstances, the club still get a thumbs up and thanks from me.  ?
