California Ram. got a reaction from Crewton in West Bromwich Albion (H) Matchday Thread
Credit to Morrison for closing in on the keeper before the goal - helped create the uncertainty.

Fozzy and Stearman - probably not the posters up on many fans’ bedroom walls, but heroes today (so far) the pair of them.

I hope if the preferred bidder is named and all seems to be proceeding Ok then January will be more positive regarding sales/exits. I would expect Joz and Marshall to go at least anyway. Lawrence probably depends whether we need to free up wages or just get something for him if he doesnt want to stay for the fight back on lower wages. Everyone else just not sure. More concerned about when we will be able to start offering contracts and resigning youngsters so that if they get poached we at least will get fees and hopefully some will commit and stay. This would be my priority as its where we're most vulnerable

I feel tomorrow could either be a calamity or a day to remember. From my recent memory (and I’m only young), we have a decent record against Blackpool at home. We need to get behind the boys tomorrow, I am in a city filled with Leeds scum fans and we need to prove the world we aren’t dead men walking.
I have felt we are anything but fighters, however, we need to show ourselves and the world, we are up for the fight by slamming one of the teams around us. We have really failed to do so often under Rooney and this could be a watershed moment. I will be a Ram with his heart in his mouth at home tomorrow. You lot who are there tomorrow, sing it loud and proud, we are Derby F’ing county (sorry if this breaches rules Mod’s) , let the world know who we are and how we don’t lay down and roll over.

Before this season started, before any deductions were implemented, we were nailed on to finish dead last by both bookies and fans alike. So I genuinely find it bizzare that some of our fans consistently criticise Rooney for not doing better when if it wasn't for the points deduction we'd be a few places out of the relegation zone. The fact of the matter is our squad is appalling and even without the -21 points staying up would have been an achievement. We don't have a single CB under the age of 34 nor do we have a reliable and consistent goalkeeper. We have two senior strikers, one is permanently injured and the other is a 35 year old struggling to find match fitness after another injury. Our midfield has 1 player who can reliably pass in Bielik and he's recovering from his 2nd ACL in 2 years.
We do have some good players in the first team and the academy lads who have done well to make up for some of the squads deficiencies but there's only so much that can be expected of them. The squad has had some serious problem areas for a few seasons now and it seems very unfair to expect Rooney to fix them using teenagers from the academy while having no access to the transfer market. I understand being upset at the performance, especially when the first half was as dire as it was today. However I don't understand consistently having a pop at a manager for not achieving the impossible while having one arm tied behind his back in his first managerial role.

Just found this, Carl. From Steve Nicolson before the match:
"Plange had been ineligible to play for the first team previously but productive discussions between the club and the EFL have resulted in an agreement that he can now be involved."

Yes, he has, spent all that game talking up the opposition as well. I remember commenting on it at the time.

Definite vibe of 'Idiakez in 2007 playoff semi' performance from Harry last night. Turned down a finish from 15 yards to pass to a marked teammate & more surprisingly, didnt take that free kick. He said in the week how gutted he was that we are where we are..pleased he got a really good reception & his song belted out by our lot. Once a Ram...
Might even be less than that, may be more. I'm trying to break it into bitesize chunks & imagine Rooney doing something similar with the squad. Firstly, how quickly can we get to 10 points then once we manage that, how quickly can we get past Barnsley (looking marooned as 2nd bottom)? Then build from that.

One more point from a rare trip to a game - loved the applause and finally the chants for Harry Wilson. Must have made him feel very special when he went off to have the away end sing ‘he’s got to be worth 50 million’. Nice touch for someone who’s season with the club left a legacy of some remarkable memories.
