San Fran Van Rams got a reaction from MickD in RamsTV Subscription increased by EFL
I've just unsubscribed. No chance I'm paying that, especially in off season.
Surprised so many feel 25quid per month is reasonable, especially when you don't even know the number of games you'll get to watch given all the broadcasting restrictions.
    To put it into perspective:
    - ESPN+ is $5 per month (~GBP 3.50)
    - DAZN is $150 CAD (~GBP 87) per year, or $12.50 per month (~GBP 7)
(And I'm not even going to talk about Amazon subscriptions which now include sports)
Its outrageous the EFL feel they can justify 3-5x these prices for essentially 90-210 minutes of programming per week (restrictions not applying). AND, feel they can still charge these amounts in the offseason when there is literally nothing to watch on the platforms.
I could just about stomach GBP12.50 per month and I even thought that was expensive. To double that with absolutely no explanation is criminal. I'd be very surprised to see subscription volumes remain at 50% of what they are today, and I'm expecting clubs to take another hit at a time when they could do with all the income they can get. Be interested to know what consultation this got with clubs and what the initial position was. Once again, football is taking the mikey out of fans. What next, a 50 quid replica shirt? oh wait...

If Stoke can offset some of their losses for FFP purposes by saying that a disease of the chest and lungs has caused financial impairment can we not argue that we have incurred signignificant losses over recent years because of disease of the urethra. Just look at the number of ‘piss poor’ players we have bought in the last 5 years.

Don’t know if anyone saw Matt Slater’s article on this in the athletic over the weekend but I found it really insightful. A couple of key points. Firstly 5 out of the top 8 this season received parachute payments. Secondly an academic study showed teams 2x more likely to get promoted with parachute payments and far less likely to be relegated. Also, while the purpose of parachute payments was to prevent teams from going bust due to sudden loss of premier league riches, the chief exec now admits their purpose now is to encourage those clubs to invest more in the premier league to boost the product, knowing they will have a safety net to go again if they get relegated. Matt Slater said they’re effectively rocket boosters for relegated clubs.
You will always get anomalies but the trend is more and more of the top half of the championship is teams who have recently been in the premier league. And as the money in the premier league grows the payments are getting bigger which means only more disparity.
Football celebs patting themselves and fans on the back for saving football in this country from the evil super league, honouring the pyramid which produces great stories like Leicester are deluded. Leicester got success because they had a billionaire owner and got promoted at the right time - yes outstanding recruitment and strategy has meant they’ve made the most of it but they will be a top flight club now potentially for the next 30+ years. They’re set. Bournemouth are set as a bottom half prem/top half champ club, as are Fulham, Burnley, Baggies.
Meanwhile the likes of Derby, Coventry (who spent best part of 30 consecutive seasons in the top flight) Ipswich Forest Sunderland Sheff Wed all big clubs are a million miles away from getting back in there. Another 3-5 years of parachute payments I think the chance for those clubs to get back there will be gone. No one is saying these clubs have a divine right but they deserve as much of a chance as all the current bottom half of the premier league plus Leicester and the Hammers. Non parachute funded teams are now relying on luck and mismanagement of teams above just to have a slight chance of promotion. My prediction for next season is Bournemouth plus two of the relegated clubs will win promotion.

Yeah we saved the football pyramid from the ESL!! High Five everyone. But we already have a super league, it’s called the game premier league and it will become permanently fixed between 23 clubs in the next 5 years unless something is done.

I want him around the club for next season and years to come.

Can we please stop lambasting Fozzy. Theres been enough poor play from the whole squad this season and he doesn't need singling out today. I'm sure he's fuming with himself. He's been a fantastic servant to this club, gone through multiple career threatening injuries and I'm glad he's with us still.

I know some say the EFL don't have an agenda but I think they do. It would not surprise me one bit for the result of the appeal to be dragged on for a few more months, they may know they won't win but leaking snippets of information that suggests points deductions in the hope it will continue to derail us between now and when the season starts.
Points deductions or not, what cannot be disputed in my opinion is that 18 months after the original charges were made that it is still ongoing. The EFL claim their primary goal is to protect the league and the clubs within it, yet by being utterly and totally incompetent they do just the opposite.
Its disgusting and appalling that this has not yet been resolved. The EFL should charge themselves with breaching FFP rules..with FFP standing for Fit For Purpose in this instance. They are a disgrace of an organisation.

Based on his comments after the match to both SkySports and RamsTV, Rooney's been strung on and on this season with the takeover, wage debarcal, transfer embargo and EFL case(s). The club has been turned into a punching bag by the media and with social media playing such a big role now, the players will have been facing the vitriol directly even if we aren't in Pride Park. He's also been hit with a crazy injury list and a squad that 25% loan players, and loan players that likely weren't his first choice.
Overcoming these challenges is no mean feat and it was obvious to me that Rooney's been biting his tongue for a long time. The crap he's probably been dealing with behind the scenes is something we should see on Footballers Wives, not in reality. For me, I'd say keeping Derby up from where we were is on a par, if not better than Cloughs first season for these reasons.
Jury is still out for me on whether Rooneys the right man longer term, but let him have some time to build a squad and identity with a solid foundation behind him and no danger of unpaid wages or transfer embargos, or not knowing who his new boss is. Let's not forget the Sheik apparently spoke with Rooney and was directing decisions. That's not normal.

Strange one, but as a GK Russel Hoult was my first hero. Until he got done for something dodgy I can't quite recall, and then moved to Pompy before West Brom.
Obviously then Mart Poom and then Wanchop and Stimac but they're boring picks!

Right now I am on cloud 9 and getting bladdered.
