The Brown loan to Gateshead includes a 28 day notice call back, but if Collins gets injured this Saturday, we would wait 4 weeks to get him back!!!!
Not quite. Brown can be recalled at a moment's notice AFTER 28 days, so the earliest he would be available to Derby is the week of the Barnsley match. If Collins were to be injured this Saturday, that would mean three games.

This match could be the third in a month when we are facing a team who have just changed their manager; Fleetwood and Burton being the others. For Fleetwood, it was Adams' first home game, second game overall.

Couple of changes from the Cheltenham match.
Adams and Nyambe in for Wilson & Barkhuizen
So a bench of Wildsmith, Bradley, Ward, Wilson, Fornah, Thompson, Barkhuizen.
……….can someone let me know if they can find a better bench of subs in League 1 come Saturday afternoon! 👍😁
Perhaps one with a striker on it?

Worth noting that, as things stand, I would say that our first choice starting XI is stronger now than it was before the window opened. Injury to TJJ aside (who has predominantly been our back up striker) we’ve lost no first teamers and added two who will make our team more effective and dangerous.

The only think that worries me with the loan with him having 2 years left on his contract is if the loan goes well he'll go back and play for his parent club at the end of the season
If the loan goes well we’ll probably be in the Championship

wouldn’t say we are a comfortable 4th to be fair there’s only 6 points from us to 6 and 7 points to 7th who have 2 games in hand
Or, you could say, we are four points off top with a game in hand on the leaders. Depends how you view a half filled cup.

whilst Nyambe and Waghorn were fluke signings
A bit harsh on the Nyambe acquisition. He was very much on the club’s target list but wouldn’t sign as he wanted a Championship club. Once he felt that door had closed, he joined the Rams.

Unless a significant player is sold in the next few days I very much doubt that anyone will be signed that would be considered to be in our strongest XI. We’ll be looking for squad cover.
If we have missed out on Goodwin (who has signed for Oxford for £400k) because of budget then we’re not going to be signing a better striker than Collins - who is on course for 25+ goals this season. But we do need cover for him, being that he’s the only fit striker at the club at the moment.

Starting to look better now we’re mixing up our play instead of obsessing over getting it wide, also addressing the dysfunctional midfield has helped.
Only took 65 mins 😂
65 minutes? More like 18 months.

If the finance guys are doing their job and ensuring that the club lives within its means, we should perhaps be applauding that.
I don’t disagree at all. Just making the point that, while the football department receives all of the brickbats, they are not in full control of the situation. It’s all down to cash really.

If Derby don’t get reinforcements in by the end of the window then it certainly won’t be for the want of trying by the coaching staff. They know they will be out of a job if we’re not at least in the playoffs come the end of the season so not getting quality players in will all be down to the finance guys.

Derby win - people say "told you Warne is the Messiah"
Derby lose - people say "told you Warne plays dire football and shouldn't be here"
The duality of man.
Or the polarising effect of social media. No one is ever allowed to be neutral anymore, because that’s just too dull.

Under 2 points a game doesnt matter! Averages are pointless! Whats the average over the last 2 games? And over the last 8?
Why, do those two averages suit your argument?

Any contract can be signed in advance; it’s just it’s terms only come into effect on its activation date.
Like buying a house. You SIGN and exchange contracts before the day you actually buy the house.
CBT will have signed two contracts: one to cover his loan and one (probably dated July 1st) to cover his services once the loan expires.
Playing contracts have to be lodged with the League, but only once they are active. And a player’s registration is different to their contract and will remain with the ‘owning’ club while the player is under contract terms, or is mutually agreed to be transferred.

Disappointing if he's not involved tomorrow night which currently looks unlikely
It is very rare these days for new signings to go straight into the team. I’d have thought it would be subs’ bench at best at Reading.
But wasn’t it reported he had a slight knock anyway? You never know, that might be true?!

Sibley has had plenty of chances in what you consider his true position. Saturday for a start. He's consistent in his performances
Is his 'true position' his best position or his preferred position, as I reckon they are not the same.
His preferred position is probably as a free-rein attacking midfielder but I think his best position is in a more sitting role... on the bench, or better still, in the stand!!

I’m always happy to see competition for places ,, we have two decent keepers , wildsmith made a ricket and now vickers has a crack at keeping the shirt , keeps people focused and if it doesn’t they are at the wrong club 🤷🏻♂️
Didn’t Warne say he has two number ones? Perhaps he’s given Wikdsmith the first half of the season and Vickers gets the second half?
Maybe the players even knew that all along?!

I get the feeling that the club will not overpay for any player, and by that I mean they will have a maximum price they will pay and if a deal can’t be done then they walk away.
The correct approach I would say, but that may mean we sign no one this window - or we’re back shopping in the Tony Springett aisle.

I think Warne might consider Barkhuizen a better option than any of the above.
My brother is a Stokie and his view on Gayle: “Proper sh1te. Scored three in 50 appearances and two of those goals were when the ball just hit him and went in.”
