But if he's already signed an agreement to join in Jan ?
That won't make any difference to his immigration status.
If the UK crashes out without a deal enacted then it is highly likely that EU citizens will not automatically get a work permit in this country from Jan 1st. Given the current lack of progress on political negotiations, I certainly wouldn't pin much hope on signing a player from Europe in January.

Under current rules for players who do not have EU worker's rights (which may not apply in January), then no, he wouldn't get permission to work here.
Players have to be current internationals and have played in 75% of their country's games over the last two years.

England looked a hotch-potch team lacking balance, cohesion and flare. Conservatism and Physical endeavour won’t get us too far beyond beating the mediocrity that most international fixtures serves up.
That said, England lost tonight because of the referee’s inability.

Maguire got the ball, that is true, but the foul came after that when he followed through to make sure the opponent didn’t break with the ball. Have to say,for me, it was a yellow card every day.
The penalty however, that’s just a shocker. We’ll never get rid of VAR while there are knobs refereeing games.

I doubt Serdar (or his agent) will be happy about this so what's the betting he either:
A) Signs a new contract with them doubling his money, or;
B) In the absence of (A), doesn't score more than three goals for them between now and January.

Because my mate Mad Mick said they were Chinese, he is a lorry driver and gets about a bit so he knows a thing or two about foreigners, plus apparently 1 of them were wearing red socks so good enough for me.
I can't decide if this is comedy gold or racist bigotry of the highest order?

Saturday could well give him a chance to shine. Looks like he may well be a starter if the first team and the U23s who train with the first team are sidelined.
