  1. Things may get a little tricky with the EFL if there is a lack of clarity on the takeover by Friday. The EFL's AGM is on June 10th - the member clubs' summer meeting follows it - and it is at that point that one season officially stops and the next one starts (from an administration perspective). It is at the AGM that the promotions and relegations are acknowledged- so effectively DCFC become a League One club this week!

I would guess that theEFL will be wanting to know what is happening before that meeting.

The EFL will make us send him, pay for his wages for the next season and deducted us 12 points for upsetting the Germans.

Disappointing thing is if true, this sounds like he wants out. They wouldn’t pursue this if he is happy to stay at the club.

Can't help but believe this is agent shenanigans at play.

Anyone who wants MA should be listening to Gary Neville after the Newcastle v Arsenal game - “Mike Ashley stunk this place out”.

So Neville is claiming more than a decade of rancid ownership? Yet one transfer window with a total outlay of the value of a Jack Grealish has them a top ten PL team? Can’t have been that bad to begin with then.

However, I disagree with Nixon's statement "it's no sweat" because our other concern, albeit secondary to the main one, is that we do not lose Rooney or the players. The longer it drags on....the more we lose.

Maybe the REAL deadline is the date in May (24th?) when players have to be offered new terms by if they are not to become free agents without any development rights attached?

TBF, if I had a spare £20M,I'D buy the stadium, because it's worth allot more and there's a football club that'd like to rent it off me at a 5% yield under a full maintenance lease, until they're in a financial position to buy it off me.

But I'd obviously have to check with a few nobbers in Bristol and Nottingham to make sure they're OK with that first....

Does anyone anywhere have a 'spare' £20million?

But then I'm the pedantic so-and-so that wonders what 'spare change' is too. Isn't it just money, like the rest of what you may have?!!

I've read that dcfc brings in around 100 million a year to the local community.

    Creating jobs etc

I've read that dcfc are in the running for an award for the work that they do with local community, especially this year under difficult circumstances for the club.

I've read that the club's financial links to a lot of local businesses is essential for those businesses survival.

I've read that people say the council shouldn't be considering whether they have the funds to buy the club even if that means substantial guaranteed revenue for them from renting it back to ck.

In my opinion, an argument that the money should be spent on council services only at this time is flawed considering the above.

As we stand on the brink of a recession, people feel they need to have an outlet for how the reduction of stress and for families to be able to do something locally and I believe dcfc helps with that.

It's my hope that mm who at this point in time should have zero chance of passing the efls own fit for purpose test, shouldn't continue to control dcfc.

In Germany fans are legally required to own a portion of their football team, in derby fans who elected local councillors and who pay council tax, now potentially have a chance via the council to indirectly own a share in dcfc

If the council does buy it, I hope that members of the public might get a voice on ideas on the way the ground is run.

The thing is, the Council owning the stadium will NOT have any effect on it's ability to fund the provision of core services to City of Derby rates payers. Public bodies like the City Council have access to centrally-provided capital project funding for the building and/or protection of community assets at loan rates far more favourable than commercial business mortgages and I would be gob-smacked if the council were contemplating the purchase of the stadium with any other funding than this.

If, as has been reported, the funding is in place then I assume the caveats for qualifying for this funding have been met. I don't live in Derby any more but a council near to where I do now live - City of York - used access too this fund to build the new community stadium there, with borrowing secured at 2.9% interest.

If the same applied for Derby, borrowing £20m (assumed stadium purchase price) would cost £580,000 a year - that's about £1 for every ticket sold this season - and a bargain in terms of funding. I don't know, but I would guess the cost of servicing the Dell loan is three times that level.

The Council will only be exposed if the Club can't pay the ground rent at some point in the future.

The EFL are dragging their heels as usual.

    I hate them

In fairness, the EFL is a relatively small organisation with maybe 4 or 5 senior executive offices. I would guess a lot of their attention since the Rams' business plan was submitted has been taken up with the government's announcement over the future of English football.

I think we have a fair chance of being promoted but it is by no means a certainty.

About 1 in 24 as things stand!

Must admit, I'm not fully understanding the optimism about an immediate return to the Championship, given that we have no idea what kind of team we will field next season.

Optimism for the reset; absolutely! Optimism for the adventure; 100%. Optimism that the Club WILL find its feet again; you bet!

But to bounce back straight away? We shouldn't even be thinking about that yet. Let's see what the summer brings first... then enjoy the ride no matter what!

  9. There will be 2 or 3 lads that are 'next in line' from the Academy and it makes sense to give them a taste of first team - especially a taste of a 20k+ PP crowd. Not saying wholesale changes, but a few appetite-whetters for a select band of youngsters wouldn't be a bad thing.

And I'm guessing we may find out who ISN'T in next season plans too. Would be a shame if Fozzy didn't get a send off game though, assuming he may be one of those to thank for services rendered and wave farewell too in the summer.

Go to Kirchner, don't go to Kirchner, go to Kirchner, go to Ashley, Go to the Binnies , don't go to Appleby, go to Kirchner. Pay 35%, don't pay 25%, pay 25%, pay 10%, pay 40 million, pay 25 million, don't pay 25 million, pay 10 then 20,  Choose life, choose something else, pay unsecured creditors, don't pay creditors,   pay over 3 years, don't pay over 2 years, take a deduction, pay 25% now, don't pay 25% now, don't take a deduction, find an accord, buy the stadium, don't rent the stadium, rent the stadium.

Or, we could just invade East Staffordshire to liberate the down-trodden Burton folk from the tyranny of having to listen to Stoke City match reports on their local radio station as a suitable distraction to all of this?
