I'm normally pessimistic and always think the worst when it comes to the Rams over the last 10 year's. But something just gives me a little gut feeling about our situation.

A feeling that we might surprise a few people this season. I saw a few shoots of positivity in that 2nd half of the cup game, some of our young players are a lot better than some fans give them credit for. Will some of them emerge as hero's come the end of the season ?

Or have I just got out of the right side of the bed this morning?.

Big game already this. Seems weird saying that, but it gives the perception on the start of the season.
Win and it’s 3 games unbeaten with a good away victory to boot.
Lose and it soon turns into a 3-game winless run to start the season with two of the easier games already done.
    No pressure then!

Rooney has had multiple interviews now, where he has been asked the question about walking away. He consistently says no. We have been crying out for stability and loyalty from a manager since Nigel Clough. He arguably has the toughest job of any manager for as long as I can remember supporting Derby (22 years) and despite having a bare minimum squad and having all the problems above him, he continues to show that he cares and wants to do well.
We are starting to see a style of play which is exciting and attacking with the handful players he has.
I think it's about time everyone starts to show respect to him instead of wanting him out. Any other manger would have left us in this mess.

He's sticking with us, we need to stick with him !!

Let me try this again, I was forwarded your post and just online replying to say thanks, and I appreciate the concern. Posted and the topic was merged and my post lost as I submitted it. Cheers mods.
I have an apology and what exactly has happened post which will follow the report from the meeting, I don't not can't want to go into detail now.
What I would say is, this is not the clubs fault, anyone using it as a stick to beat the club with are doing so without the full facts, which is unfair and not helping myself personally as I try to fix the situation and get the information out to you.
I, David, has handled the situation poorly, been naive and been busy working my hardest to get back to you all with what you want.I would like to think that over the years we have built up some mutual respect, if you don't want to believe me that's fine, but please just stop until you have read what I put out.
You must also all understand that the club staff are ridiculously busy right now working long hours on other important issues, whilst I feel somewhat in limbo, I'm more happy that we have an extra 2 defenders in the squad than missing out as they need to read through my emails.
As for tomorrow, I am excited more than you will ever know, football is back, Derby are back, fans in the stadium, perfect.
I'm just gutted I can't be there, but I'm doing the next best thing, taking a flight out of here so I can watch on RamsTV with a. few beers that are chilling in the fridge.
Those that are going, regardless of your thoughts on the ownership, club, put all that to one side and get behind the team, we have a young team that doesn't deserve to play under a negative atmosphere.
Drop any protests, Mel chants, anti EFL or anti and sarcastic Rooney chants, focus on positive support for the team, this is when they need us the most, the atmosphere is all on us nobody else, if we crush those lads with booing and all that baalocks, we will have to shoulder some of the responsibility.
I'm sorry for the lack of communication, I just didn't have anything to add and felt it would be best to stay offline. But please, regardless of what you think of me, the club, just read the above and take it from a fan that loves this club and wouldn't be saying any of this if I didn't mean it.

Nope, I watched the opening monologue from Andrew Neil and tbh think they will attract the average guy in the street that feels they can't say what they want to say anymore because literally everything offends someone and the disillusioned 'red wall' labour voter that just wants someone to listen to them and not be subject to globalist/London centric wokery that is a million miles from their daily life.

Maybe some do but if that's the case the weekly protest can be exchanged for actually doing something in the community of Derby actively. As I put in the post that I changed due to the off topic nature of it, it's become an empty vessel of virtue signalling that doesn't achieve or even say anything in reality.

Thank you for the sense, just like you my family is a melting pot of different shades and colours from different backgrounds and cultures, I would never boo the taking the knee but as expressed I would really like there to be something gesture wise that was just pure unadulterated anti racism , I was also very anti ckr doing the black power salute as I think that is divisive in this country , time and climate, sadly when I’ve given opinion on this stuff people imply your a racist without knowing the first thing about you?‍♂️

I go to football matches for a form of entertainment and a release from everyday concerns - I do not go to be leactured about other people’s opinions on life and how to live whatever they are. I have never booed at a football match and I never will but I would not be turning up to a football match if clubs, footballers, politicians or organisations try to repeatedly tell me what my opinion is.

I wouldn't take it personal pal. I think the vast majority of fans who boo the gesture are booing BLM as an organisation and the fact that they want to defund the police and other unsavoury policies.

I've hid the last few posts due to being off topic and straying into political/racism debates (including my own). Its a debate I personally would love to have but the rules of the forum are clear and this thread is about returning after covid and not about taking the knee.
