Brighton have a respectable model, but this is now their fifth season in the Premier League and their highest finish thus far is 15th.

So talk of them having overtaken teams and even finishing in the top half seems a bit fanciful to me.

I do agree that there is a lot to admire about the way they operate, but until they translate promise into points on the board and kick on, why would we harbour feelings of jealousy?

Let’s be honest, Derby fans wouldn’t be satisfied with flitting between 15th and 17th for four years.

We would be looking to emulate the likes of Leeds, Wolves and Villa.

I can think of a few who wouldn't be satisfied Jourdan.

Were these deadlines not extended by some margin (9 or 12 months?) due to Covid? I'd be surprised if the 2020 accounts need to be submitted yet in terms of the HMRC requirements.

However, my understanding was that despite the HMRC saying you don't need to submit accounts because of Covid, my recollection was also that the EFL said "we'll put you under embargo if you don't because we have no interest in the welfare of our member clubs and any financial difficulties you may be experiencing due to a global pandemic".

Also add " although we ourselves the EFL as an organisation have taken advantage of late submission allowance"

Isn’t this almost the exact situation we found ourselves in? I mean, we even had the EFL sign them off and then come back years later and want them redone.

They even had press release stating they were disappointed they couldn’t retrospectively give us a points deduction and relegate us.

    The EFL are completely cowboys.

Saved me posting the same thing. I agree, it is exactly the position we found ourselves in. Its good sometimes to go back and touch base as it all almost gets lost in the detail.

Where is the evidence that no-one would touch the Derby job at the moment and Rooney is the best man for the job?

They are both assumptions which can’t be tested while the job is unavailable.

By the same token, I could say if Rooney left tomorrow, there would be tens of managers lining up to take on the challenge of reviving a club like ours.

Managers will always be judged come what may, and you can only take it as it comes. The circumstances will never be optimal, so why wait to judge Rooney?

Rooney has been given a more than fair chance if you consider he’s not even officially qualified to do the job.

Backing the manager is fine, but we came within a whisker of relegation whilst playing uninspiring football and we have won three league games since the spring.

You can’t be surprised that some fans will still have reservations over the manager, surely? This is modern football and managers are scrutinised more fiercely than ever.

Honestly, nothing personal meant by this Jourdan but when you write about Derby you really depress me!

Given the reputation Warnock has for wading into referees both during and after matches, it does make you think that the weaker officials are so intimidated by him and fearful that the ensuing publicity might affect their standing within the officiating structure that it affects their decisions.

I can think of no other plausible reason for Mr Davies's failure to take a firmer grip on the antics and thuggery of this vile Boro team.

I totally agree. Further more it shouldn't even be acceptable for a manager to even speak to a referee before or after a game and if he rants and verbally abuses the referee he should be immediately sent off. Warnock is an ignorant oaf. I have no time for him.

If we have a few other quality squad improvements lined up, but only if umbongo is gone then that could easily win more than 3 points.

If this is the case I think you have to grit your teeth, take the points and give the EFL the two smelly fingers by finishing way up the league (ahead of Gibson’s cheating barstools).

But they have to have a legitimate case for deducting 3 points. Can't just do it as a gentleman's agreement.

Depends how often you want to go and your previous history/refund status, a season ticket holder gets a 30% or 35% or 40% discount on the individual ticket price depending on the number of years a season ticket has been held. You may also get an additional 10% off depending on what refund option you chose for 19/20.

Ignoring the extra 10% and assuming you've held a season ticket for less than 5 years, you'd need to want to attend 70% of the 20 games (14 games) to make it worthwhile. Adjust this accordingly depending on your circumstances but it'll likely be in the 12-14 game range to make it worthwhile.

    That's worth a bill of £150.00 if you're at work isn't it?

Looking on the seating map for Saturday's game there can't be more than a few thousand tickets left - I thought that the season ticket reservations were released at 3pm today? Surely we can't be near capacity when PP was barely half full against Huddersfield?

About 15,000 home tickets sold as of now. We seem to have lost 10,000 fans.
