Ram@Lincoln reacted to JuanFloEvraTheCocu'sNesta in Jack Stretton - joined Stockport permanently
If he is playing games leave him where he is. Much better for him to be playing than warming our bench behind the likes of McGoldrick, Dobbin, Collins and Osula.

Ram@Lincoln got a reaction from Magicman in Jack Stretton - joined Stockport permanently
Prior to these two games he was unused substitute for 3 of the last 4, playing only a single minute in the other. 65 minutes in 7 games until these two 90 minutes forced through injury. Maybe cool on the expectations on the boy, remember you had Callum Ball down as the next all star and look how that went. Just look with Kornell McDonald, just joined Kettering who are struggling in the conference north. Maybe not as good as "regular" folk thought...

Wildsmith had a really good game, claimed and punched really well.

Well, that was an excellent day out.
Listened to the last few Radio Derby podcasts on the drive to Cambridge, and heartened to hear PW say he does not like passing it across the pitch and backwards, and gameplay has to be positive. Could see this in the players and their thinking whereas in previous games they would have kept passing across the back, whereas now they thought, better not do that, so it was a forward pass instead.
V impressed with PW setting up cones, getting directly involved with the warm up and shooting drills.
Seeing him lose his nut on the sidelines when instead of forward movement a backward pass was made.
I know it's only one game but his whole ethos on how football should be played and positivity really makes me feel very positive about the future as well.
Well done to David Clowes and his team on headhunting PW and his team of coaches as their approach is exactly what we need.

And seeing as we are allowed to stand shoulder to shoulder at the urinals again, how about putting the fuses back in the hand driers, rather than just one of each pair working, resulting in long slow queues… and/or everyone walking out shaking their dripping hands through the concourse!

His inside leg measurement is 32 inches.
Best of luck against Cambridge.

All I'd like is the hot water switched back on in the bogs and the leaking urinals repaired/replaced so you don't have to paddle. That'll be a great start!

Ram@Lincoln reacted to Derbados in Cambridge Utd v Derby (A) matchday thread
This is exactly the style of football you need to get out of this league, fast, aggressive press with an ethos of direct balls as soon as you can.
Can see why he’s been promoted from this division three times.
Football doesn’t need to be over complicated and technical, the basics can be so straight forward and effective

I can't imagine a screening of Toy Story needing segregation with stewards between the rows! ? A little different compared to a football match for sure.

I just want to say how lucky you are to have Paul Warne as manager. I've supported the millers for 69 years. Obviously, I've seen managers come and go during that period. As far as I'm concerned, and many other fans Warne is the best manager we've had.
Like Derby fans we went through some dark times. Administration points deducted, lost our ground, forced to play in Sheffield in an athletic stadium. No atmosphere, 4 years in the 4th division.
Paul has many qualities. Excellent staff management, a workaholic. He's articulate, honest and will live and breathe Derby County.
I thank him for all the memories, 3 Wembley wins 3 promotions and I wish him well and as a consequence wish the Rams well. I've never had a second team, but for the first time Derby County will be my second team. I look forward to seeing Paul succeed.
Hopefully Derby will be promoted and we survive in the championship and look forward to see you at the New York stadium.
All the best.

Ram@Lincoln reacted to RoyMac5 in Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach
Lets hope this works:
"I like to have a 'Why Wall' at home and one away from home," Warne said. "Away from home it's like a bedsheet, really. Every player has to send a picture of why they are doing it. What motivates them to play? More often than not it's family photos. Nobody has done this, but it could be a Porsche or a Ferrari because they want to do well and buy a car.
"I want the lads to feel like look we are very blessed to be able to play football. I always want them to put in a performance on an effort level that their loved ones will be proud of. That's the truth. I spoke to one of the players today, and I won't tell you who, but he was a bit emotional with his photo because his parents have literally done everything for him to become a footballer.
People do. They sacrifice a lot to get their kids to training. I want the lads to when they leave the dressing room that it's the last thing they see. They look at the why wall and see their loved ones looking at them.
"No matter what happens in that game of football they are still going to be loved aren't they? That's the truth. I don't care what anybody says, and you can give me any amount of money, if you're not liked or loved there's no point having a million pound in the bank but nobody wants to go on holiday with you."

Ram@Lincoln reacted to Ram-Alf in Are we too nice?
As I said ?
Paul Wanes non negotiables
"There are loads of non-negotiables," he said. "They have to be good people. They have to be polite and want to learn. They have to be brave enough to stick their hand up if they don't understand. They have to run until they can't. There is no excuse for not running. If you don't run then you just can't play.
"They have to be prepared to be brave on the ball if they are having a bad time. They have to cross it, they have to attack set-pieces, they have got to put their bodies on the line and at times, as an individual, they have to put the team before themselves.

Ram@Lincoln reacted to Anag Ram in Chants
To replace the ancient Collymore chant
Paul Warne is our gaffer; he wears a bobble hat
He once was boss of Rovrum but soon got sick of that
He’s boss of Derby County; he’s loved by all the fans
And he’s gonna bounce and win the league with the Pride Park super rams!

So if we were to go with that -

or -
----------------------Wildsmith
-------Chester-------Davis--------Cashin

Knight --------Thompson----Hourihane---Sibley
------------------Collins------McGoldrick
Personally I'd love to go oldschool, back to the Bald Eagle days with -

-------------------Knight----Hourihane

I can guarantee that he'll set up with 1 goalkeeper and 10 outfield players. ?

Back in the good old days of the South East corner that role pretty much fell to Higgo, then with the move to the south stand Nick Webster and co seemingly have it in their hands. Get that safe standing installed and the stadium atmosphere will improve no end.

If they don't make it, surely that then questions if they are gifted? Be that football ability or mentality skillset. Sure there's a few exceptions to the cause, but these are few and far between.

Ram@Lincoln reacted to Day in Derby v Cheltenham 24/09 potential postponement
Ignoring the bizarre doubt you have over the clubs statement.
We have 6 players more than what can be named in a matchday squad.
1 of those is a keeper with a broken arm.
1 is our injured captain.
1 is James Chester returning from injury.
Now send 3 players away on international duty, the squad is looking thinner than my hair.
I'm not sure why any Derby fan would want us to play on regardless, especially when one of those players is key in Jason Knight.

To be fair that is what our SLO should be for. The Cambridge SLO is for there fans, not us.

Ram@Lincoln reacted to Carl Sagan in Morecambe v Derby (A) Matchday thread
The team should be:
Wildsmith
Stearman Cashin
Oduroh Knight Forsyth
Mendez-Laing Sibley McGoldrick Barhuizen
Collins
With Knight bringing energy into the centre. Neither Bird nor Hourihane is playing well enough to have earnt the shirt. There have to be consequences for poor performances and for good performances, and I hope Rosenior will realize that as well as identify the woeful lack of energy we're seeing in the heart of the pitch.
Subs: Loach Roberts Rooney Hourihane Bird Dobbin Osala
I'm assuming Chester, Davies and Smith are all out injured.
