It doesn’t seem like any of our local journalists have the aforementioned ‘contacts’ at the club anymore. If nothing else you can congratulate Mel and Co for keeping a tight ship… no leaks anywhere (the Govt could learn a thing or two from them).
While I’m not one for the wailing and gnashing of teeth of some (the twitterati seem particularly enraged (impotently) at the moment) it would be very pleasing to hear something from the club, some crumb of comfort, some hint of when the end of this ridiculous saga might be. Even a formal comment of ‘no comment’ would be something.

Investigate ? Call in favours ? Use contacts ? Not simply ring the press office at Derby County and say 'any news' , Perhaps I have watched too much Lou Grant or Press gang

Really frustrated with the lack of any comms from Club or EFL along with everyone on here , but I am pretty disappointed with the output from the local journals , be it paper or Radio, I am sure that they will say that there hands are tied and that they ask DCFC for a response everyday but get no comment, further more let me state that I have a lot of time and respect for the guys at Radio Derby  (plus also zero time or anything else for the click bait that calls itself the Derby Evening telegraph) , however is Investigative Journalism dead ? or is it smothered by a don't ask questions that will get us banned ?
National Papers will only give so much space/time to DCFC  and then only the more sensational news bites , a local journalist has a audience who are invested in there local club and therefore digging for detail must be worth while

Punishment via 20 slow-motion replays, applying superhuman levels of reaction, speed of thought & imagined intent to a situation where the player's focus would be entirely on trying to win the header, leaving them less than half a second to switch their thinking to deliberately trying to injure an opponent and maneuver themselves into the position to do so.
Anything like this should be looked at entirely in real time, a maximum of 5 times from at most 2 camera angles, same with all the VAR poo where it's supposed to be about clear and obvious errors.
It was right infront of me at the ground, an incident of no particular note.
The only players who reacted to it were their bloke and Forsyth, everyone else carried on - it was a local Derby FFS! A game where any sort of contentious incident will be appealed and remonstrated at length given the merest hint of being able to get the opposition player sent off.  Completely ridiculous.

Fans shouldn't be too surprised if, after telling the owner to "GTF out of our club" often enough, he does precisely what they've asked him to do.
Complaining about someone simply following instructions seems a bit precious.

I've got a feeling the embargo will be lifted soon and we'll be able to bring in a couple of players we wanted.
If not, we can still survive this league even with a points deduction. Having Knight come back into the squad soon and Bieliek back in a couple of months, they are probably better than any signing we could wish for.

    Very much so.
All 3 truly loved the club and did what they thought was the best with their own money.
Mel's best just hasn't been good enough, so they're not comparable in terms of success.

Whilst no one actually knows, it seems extremely likely that the EFL are wanting to force ( Bully) Derby into accepting a points deduction whilst we quite rightly say get stuffed. If the EFL had reason in black and white to impose a points deduction they would have done it and surely by now, if that points deduction came in we have the right to appeal it and so we should. It’s worth noting that Reading FC have completely blown a hole through P&S and should have a well laid out punishment but yet nothing has happened.
The Paranoid might believe that they want us to agree a points deduction before Reading get their lighter punishment and just say we agreed to ours.
whilst the likes of Stoke city may well have been getting rid of the unwanted they should have blown through P&S yet they down valued the whole squad and blamed Covid and appear to be getting away with that and I suspect an awful lot of other clubs in the championship are busy hiding bad news but consistent punishment is simply not going to be happening as we are the main target of the publicity whilst we haven’t actually been as bad as some others despite what sits on our so called crime sheet.
Anyway we continue to support our team and hope for the best.

Yeah I would also like to “thank Mel” but genuinely not sarcastically….. for funding the clubs deficit in income for the last 7 years to the tune of about 200 million when no one else has stepped forward with the cash. So genuinely thanks Mr Morris.

LazloW got a reaction from Andicis in Referees costing us vs Forest in recent seasons
Moaning about the ref is part of the fun of the game. All fans do it. All fans will always do it. Of course, deep down nobody really believes that refs have a vendetta against us (or that the EFL do, or that Sky really hate us), but discussing the possibility of such, and all the mistakes refs make, is just part of the rich tapestry of the game.  Not sure there's a need to either a: take such things too seriously or b: take some sort of moral high ground about it (or try to make people feel bad for even discussing the possibility that refs are crap and have cost us points).  I think the phrase is 'lighten up'?

How do you take my post as suggesting I disagreed with you? Quite the opposite. It’s such a statement of the bleeding obvious that we need a 20 goal striker (just like everybody else) that it hardly needs discussing.

It's a shame people can only form their opinions on players based on what Sky pundits (who are paid to create talking points) and slow motion replays tell them.
If you look at Fozzy's "stamp" in real time, he is just trying to extricate himself from the tangle. Not looking, no intent but they insist on making a meal of it.
Similarly the Forest equaliser in real time - appalling marking, crisp shot. Roos did well to nearly get down to it and many keepers (Marshall included) wouldn't have got anywhere near. But play it in slo-mo, it's suddenly an "error".

Disappointing result, and I thought quite a flat performance for a local Derby. To be fair Lawrence played really well, but at no point after we scored did I think it would end anything other than 1 - 1. We started the second half like we had a halftime kip. They were pretty rubbish, and we still didn’t have the resources to get the win we needed.  Going to be a tough season.

We’ve had an easy start to the season. Run of tougher games now coming up after the break. I’m not hopeful we will pick up any wins for a while

He can do his dancing tiktok videos all he likes when he is performing, and scoring, consistently in the league. A good performance against Sheff Utd Reserves in a tinpot cup tie doesn’t obscure the fact that he hasn’t delivered a great deal where and when it matters. Hopefully he will have a really good game for us on Saturday.

These things happen organically, you can't force them.
Didn't Stoke adopt Delilah when someone was shouting to their friend Tom Jones further ahead in the crowd, for instance?

Quite funny that people come on here criticising people for being a little bit mean about the ‘commentator’, but there are literally 100s of threads that openly abuse the owner, manager and individual players!

I’d be more than happy to see all ‘abusive’ posts removed on the off-chance the individuals mentioned might see them. However, from what I’ve read on this thread, it mostly seems to be reasonable criticism of the persons work (which is in the public eye and thus open to critique).  I don’t know the man personally (I walked past him on the Cromford Canal path a few weeks ago but doubt that makes us friends) so would never comment on his personality. He might be a lovely man off air. However, it is fair to say that I find his ‘commentary’ excruciating.  That isn’t being abusive, it is merely a ‘review’ (much as I might a tv show or film). If I don’t like a tv show, I don’t watch it. As it is, I can’t listen to RD.

I really don’t know where people get this ‘passion’ thing from. I assume it is from people who equate endless moaning and negativity as passion (perhaps reflecting and rationalising their own way of supporting the club?). Is it the shouting that equates to passion? Not for me. Noise is just noise.  Is it, as other people say, the way that every time the ball is in our half, the inflection in his voice makes you assume they’re about to score? I must admit that I often have the same feelings, but it isn’t passion.
My Dad can no longer go to the games due to age. However, he listens to RD and I can honestly say that when we talk about the matches, it’s like we were watching two different games. If the commentary gives you the wrong impression of what has happened, then it isn’t good commentary. But then, perhaps I’m not passionate enough?
