This way the EFL have to publicly admit they have awarded MFC and the tinpot mob 'football creditor' status or at very least that they themselves insisted that they be added to the creditors list. This in turn begs the absolute killer question: how so given this has been done without any form of consultation or arbitration, effectively deeming Derby guilty without trial or oversight? Why would this be significant? Because this exposes their earlier public statements claiming to have had zero input as yet more bare-faced lies and also clearly illustrates the EFL's dictatorial nature and blatant disregard for fair, transparent and even-handed adjudication.
There is and always has been a strategy behind Quantuma's PR and that has simply been to give the EFL enough rope to hang themselves. The EFL initially saw Quantuma's silence as weakness and in tandem with the other two mobs piled on, thinking they were winning the war. As it is, they've been hopelessly outthought and outgunned. They will now try to position their change of heart as being down to concessions made by the admins, or a softening in their own stance, whereas it is in fact, nothing less than an ignominious climbdown. The EFL's arrogance led them to overplay their hand and they've now been served up their proverbials on a very cold plate.
I said a few weeks ago that the most 'ironic aspect of this whole shabby tale' was that we could now be witnessing the end of the EFL 'at least in its current guise'. This is so much better than that.

They are not working for the Football Club. The overall competiveness of the team is of secondary importance, to getting the best deal for the Creditors. They have a legal obligation to the Creditors, the Preferred Bidders, and even Mel Morris, to ensure that  due insolvency diligence and process is followed, otherwise they could be sued.

I’d make sure my family and friends were all ok first, and then spunk £200m on dodgy footballers and managers, high fees and high wages, with big and frequent u-turns, before thinking duck that anymore, then spend the rest of my years fearing a knock on the door, living on my own remote from family and friends.

Not the number of months we've been under embargo over the past 4 years (which is almost 30 months), but the number of months since our U18s won the 18/19 League title, after beating an Arsenal side featuring Bakary Saka 5-2 in the Final. The young Rams also finished 8 points ahead of a Manchester United side which contained Mason Greenwood.

From that squad, 11 have played for our first team making a combined 419 appearances.
Those still with us and are in and around the first team:
McDonald - 8 first team apps.
JBrown - 4 first team apps.
Cashin - 3 first team apps.
Buchanan - Still only 20 but has already played 60 times.
Bird - With him making 97 appearances for the Rams, he'll be hoping to make his 100th app for the club in Feb
Thompson - Missed just 12 minutes of football since coming into the side against Bournemouth, the first of his 11 appearances.
Knight - An almost ever present in the first team since the start of the following season. He has already made 100 apps and scored 11 in the process.
Sibley - Still only 20 but has 7 goals and 4 assists in his 65 first team apps.
Festy - Already a fan favourite after 23 appearances.
Stretton - Limited to just 15 appearances given his injury troubles.
Some are still with us but are yet to play for the first team:
Dixon - Named on bench twice.
Wilson - Named on bench twice.
Matthews - yet to feature in a matchday squad.
Notable players who have since departed the club:
Whittaker - 32 appearances for Derby before moving on to Swansea where he scored 5 in 22 apps. He's currently on loan at Lincoln City where he has scored 1 in 3.
Delap - Left the club in summer 2019 for Man City, he has played for their first team on 3 occasions scoring once.
And the handful of others who have left:
Charles - Joined Mansfield and played twice, who loaned him out to York City where he made 4 apps
Archie Brown - Move to Switzerland in the summer just gone to play for Lausanne-Sport. Has made 2 apps, and a further 2 out on loan.

Don’t agree with it but let’s have it right, Gibson is potentially putting hundreds of people out of work, taking away a football club from thousands of people, the effect this could have on peoples mental health to who Derby is their whole life, do you think he’d lose sleep at night if that led to a Derby fan taking their own life?

What I really like about Rooney is his basic decency. Don't walk away from a mess you made, take responsibility for the people affected by your decisions, don't run away and hide. Just basic stuff you learn as a kid. Footballers always get accused of letting the money and fame go to their heads, of losing touch, of lacking a basic moral compass. And Rooney had a lot more fame and money than most. And yet he's stuck with us at an incredibly difficult time, managing under huge restrictions, putting his reputation at great risk (let's be honest even a lot of Derby fans thought he was failing at one point), because he thinks it's the right thing to do.
If he goes to Everton I'll remember him as a great manager for us, and a great man. (Yep I'm ignoring his personal life!)

The maverick approach to the clubs finances is unforgivable. The previous DCFC owner opted to not pay HMRC, racking up a debt of almost £30m, which he then dumped into administration. I find that highly offensive. I have run a company and always paid the tax due, whether I agreed with the taxation policy or not. No doubt most, if not all Rams fans have to pay their taxes. As well as the financial shambles he chose to make an enemy of the EFL, then left the battlefield. That act in itself has a significant bearing on todays problems. Everyone makes mistakes, but they shouldn't be confused with conscious decisions made by people who know exactly why and what they are doing.

It’s true that the original Boro claim is brought on different grounds but it rapidly resolved to the same argument. They said we had competitive advantage from the extra finances our stadium valuation gave us. The panel said extra finance did not automatically lead to competitive advantage, and could definitely not shown to deny Boro a place in the playoffs or beyond. Their case now says that we had competitive advantage from the extra finances our amortisation gave us - but the rest of their argument following that point is the same - and has been dismissed.

We couldn’t submit accounts before they clarified what method we had to use. They just said that it had to be compliant with the regs (I think) - still not specifying straight-line amortisation.

Most of this mess is avoidable if EFL wrote clear regs. And didn’t punish retrospectively where a rule isnt clear. To a certain extent, Leeds had the same problem with ambiguous rules not specifying unsporting behaviour. At least the amortisation rules specified that they must meet auditing requirements …

I'm pretty sure Mel did "pay" himeself the full asking price of the stadium, one of his defences was if he'd sold it himself undervalued the taxman might be interested in him.
Because it was between two companies he owned, I'm not sure hom the moving occured but there was some evidence of the transaction happening at the full value. Weather any company not owned by Mel Morris would've bought PP at that price, we'll never know.
Just going back to the whole EFL ridiculus value back in the first hearing, were the ELF side thinking they'll give a really low figure (against DCFC's really high figure) and the tribunal will decide something in the middl was most likely real - then the tribunal decided "Derby had some credibility to thier evidence, EFL did not not, thus Derby's value is accepted.

Yeah but it can't have been made up, surely there actually exists an agreement signed by Morris and the club that states he is to pay this figure?
As @Gritstone Ramsays above, maybe he offset it against a loan we owed him. Which is a serious Bamford move if so. Repossess the stadium from the club he purports to love

Wonder if he still thinks administration is "very probably" in the best interests of the club?
This was from the same interview where he said: "From the moment I announced I was prepared to effectively let the club go for no return to me, that left no room for negotiation."
IF YOU ARE PREPARED TO LET IT GO FOR NOTHING WHAT ROOM FOR NEGOTIATION DO YOU NEED.
