Why does DC have to explain himself to you?  He runs DCFC professionally without the MM circus.  It appears for now he's decided to stick with Warne, he doesn't have to explain his rationale to you, I or any other fan!  Do you really think if he could not afford to sack Warne he would say it publicly as is being suggested?  Of course he wouldn't!
    Exactly 100% on the money!
I agree, but, we do not know he can't afford to, his contract could still be paid over the length of it, not necessarily all in one go too!

I agree. Criticism and an assessment of his decisions is fine. It might actually help him (should he ever want to venture on to a message board). I was calling out those who were slating him, with one poster even suggesting he should go (too).
PW should never have been appointed in my view, but I can understand the logic of the decision. 15 months on it looks a poor decision, but who amongst us hasn’t made a few logical, but ultimately poor decisions in our lifetime.
I wonder if he is sitting at the breakfast table this morning wondering why he didn’t just retain his season ticket. I bet his Mrs is.

If DC can't afford to end Warne's contract it's no better than Morris paying over the odds for ordinary players.

I understand that when the football isn’t pretty, and the league position is dire, football fans will inevitably lash out. However, I am amazed that there are a good number on here tonight slating our owner. This is a staggering state of affairs even for our club, only some 15 months since he saved us.  Cool it down lads.

    A serious question:
Would anyone let Warne bring in more of his type of players in January ?

My answer is No and thats because I've seen enough , even if he's given the rest of the season by Mr Clowes please don't let him frit away any money in Jan please

Except Clowes hasn't given him a meagre budget. So how does that fit? I think the greater priority was undoubtedly the 'promotion expert' title. Not even bothered by the 'relegation expert' that went with it! 😄

I'm joining the Warne out brigade, this simply isnt good enough.  That team is more than good enough to be in the top 2 of a weak league this year.  If DC writes the rest of the season off by keeping Warne, he could well be facing a much stronger league next year.
Paul thanks for your efforts, but, as has been noted by so many, the club is going backwards, time to fall on your sword.
Lets get Warnock in before he goes to that shitehole Milwall..

A combination of reasons I suspect.

I think that many folks had hoped that we'd be in a better position than we are, and people's reactions and ways of dealing with that can be very different. You see it at games too. Some folk are in a constant state of agitation and the team and manager can do not right, others kick every ball and have extremes of emotions both ways and others are much more matter of fact and others again may be relentlessly upbeat. I used to sit near a guy who must have felt completely drained after every game, he'd rant and rave at anything he didn't like and every throw in against us was a personal affront to him and 5 mins later would swear blind that we'd just scored the best goal in the history of football. A forum is just a cross-section of all that. It's not a problem to have that different take on things but sometimes we all need to just accept that ours is not necessarily the best or only way to view the current issue or game. Some many posts come over as "I'm right, you're wrong, you must hate the club and want us to lose/are a deluded happy clapper *delete as appropriate". Debate is good, but sometimes you are just not going to find common ground, so walk away and agree to disagree. It can sometimes be hard to read that point in the debate though I guess..

Also, performances and results are by any standards really erratic and that's frustrating because on a good day we look like we have the capability to really have a go this year an others look hopeless. We've swung from the demolition of 5th placed Peterborough on their own patch, to a really disappointing draw against the bottom side with a goal conceded against a team that hadn't seemingly scored since the time of the dinosaurs. Just when we see to have found a way to make this work, we seem to have a performance that brings us down to earth with a bump.

I think also that there is great deal of misunderstanding about what it means to criticise the team or manager on a forum. Some folk (and fair play em) will be ultra positive and seem to be really sensitive about anyone criticising the team, a player or the manager on a forum. The seems to be a belief that anyone questioning any of those things must just spend their time booing the team at games and keying players cars, whereas for many, the post match analysis isn't some kin of loyalty test, it's the equivalent of analysing the performance (good and bad) over a pint with your mates, nothing more, and very probably after spending the previous 90 mins shouting yourself hoarse supporting the team.

Some people on here say it’s a results business and it doesn’t matter about the style of football as long as we win. Maybe that’s true for some but it should also be about entertainment. It costs me around £3700 a season following the team home and away. I live over 100 miles from Derby so every game is an effort to get to, especially financially during a cost of living crisis such as we are in. For that effort and expenditure I’d like to see some exciting football, have something to look forward to every weekend. Instead, I’m finding reasons not to go to midweek home matches or away games that in other times I might have made the effort to attend. The only time I’ve felt this disinterested about the Rams before was during the latter end of Clough/Rowett era’s. I’m so bored I can barely be bothered but I keep plugging away in the hope that things will change, despite evidence to the contrary.
It’s become simple for me. If PW doesn’t get us promoted at the end of this season and he is still the manager for the following season I will not be renewing my season ticket. I cannot face paying to watch another season of his brand of football.

Just catching up after a week away. Whether you rated Clough or not or any of the following managers for that matter, one thing is becoming apparent.

A lot of people are finding the current attempts at football boring.

For context we had matches last season ie Bristol R and Morecambe at home were we obliterated the opposition. I can’t see us doing that with anyone this season. We’ve just seemed to steadily decline under Warne with no signs of an upturn.

Both in similarities in a rebuild job, think the name Clough pacified a lot of us
This season however, with the players we have in a poor league is frustrating, warne needs to play how he talks, where is the fast attack intent? Poor in midfield and attack, defence looks ok but teams have worked us out on the ball wide to mendez-laing, he looks a poor player so far, with confidence he'd of bagged that chance in the 1st minute

Before you slate me, Clough had a talented team, he was too negative, Stevie Mac turned us into an attacking outfit overnight!!!!  That's not the issue with Warne as we were camped in their half for large spells of the game, that said I was bored stiff today, just like Cloughs football.
I felt like going home at HT, I stayed obviously, the footie got worse not better, we just can not seem to brake teams down that come for a draw!
Stevie Mac part 3 anyone?  The football was never boring, it had us on the edge of our seats............

We have very different recollections, Clough served up negative terrible football, he's happy not to lose,  I don't spend my hard earmed on hoping for a draw.  His father said he had no ambition and he was right.
I was close to giving up my Season Ticket under his stewardship.....  The crowds dropped massively during his time, says it all really!!!!

Some good names on that list. Out of work managers who believe in themselves and could rebuild their reputations while taking us up through the divisions are surely:
Graham Potter Chris Wilder Nathan Jones Paul Lambert Derby have sufficient potential that I wouldn't discount any of them. Salary heavily skewed towards promotion bonuses. Though McLaren tops my list.

Exactly this and should include the academy within the centre of the plans.

Yesterday the U18s were playing their biggest game of the season at home to Man City. And guess what, not a sign of PW coming to watch for just 2 minutes.
