So you’ve called out two things he’s got wrong and ignored all the decent/good stuff he’s done?
Is he the only player to have given the ball away and miss a challenge tonight or in any game come to think of it?
I think he had a decent game but I guess some people just need a player to pick on.

I don’t find that it is a particularly boring league, some clubs try to play football. The ball is in the air a lot because we put it there. Why put in endless crosses and lumps forward if we don’t have the type of forward to take advantage. How many times did we give the ball away last night through 2 or 3 passes and pump it forward to the opposition to play with.
The fact that we won does not in my opinion mean that I should be satisfied with our football.
A lovely cross on the ground by NML for JJ to tap in.

Recruitment is the primary factor. Obviously coaching plays a part, but we have seen poor managers like Nigel Pearson achieve success with quality players.
The reason why Derby are in the 3rd division and not the PL is down to recruitment.
All other financial incomings and outgoings are fairly constant.
The biggest money movers is transfers in, transfers out and wages. Broadcasting deals, sponsors and matchday revenue play a part of course but they ultimately depend on what division the team is in, which is a reflection of the players on the pitch which is a reflection of recruitment.
Derby are in the third division because Mel recruited poorly. The team got worse from 2013/14 almost on a yearly basis and the wage bill rocketed.
We went from a side who finished 3rd with a £15m wage bill to a side that finished 6th under Rowett and Lampard with a £40m wage bill. That is down to woeful recruitment.
Mel was no longer willing to put money in. We were a poor proposition for potential buyers because aside from a few academy kids we had a squad of players devaluing every year while getting worse.
Mel then tried to get around FFP which landed us a points penalty, and then put us in admin, leaving us in a position we couldn’t recover from. All because of poor recruitment.
If our recruitment was good under Mel, we’d probably be in the PL now and he’d be looked upon fondly.

I agree, fans don’t make good owners. Particularly if they don’t have a board with good experience of the game.
We shouldn't keep changing managers, it is the initial selection and appointment of the manager and his immediate staff that is key.

I could accept the inconsistency if it were evident that we’re building something but I’m just not sure what we’re building. We’re told this is a long term project and that Clowes is giving time for Warne to build the club back up but all I’ve seen in his tenure is buying ex-players and those past their best.

If we were playing our youth, signing up and comers and attempting to play some good football then I think most Derby fans would accept the current position and levels of consistency but as it stands, what have we built in the last season and a half? Our best youth products in years are all set to leave at the end of the season leaving us with a few players that are the wrong side of 30.

If we don’t go up this year I do fear we’re in this league for the long haul, waiting for PW’s contract to be up so we can get in someone who knows how to build a team for the long term. The messaging from the club says this is a long term project but the signings we’ve made suggest otherwise.

I don't particularly care where he scores them from or against who. I am impressed that he was between the posts to score the two tap ins and the brilliant headed goal. I will be delighted if he ends up with 18-20 let alone 25.

Yesterday's success is simply down to Collins discovering where the penalty area is, and that it is where he lives. He is not a guest or a visitor, its his place!
We saw glimpses of it in pre-season matches, and now it is happening in reality. And suddenly the goals are flowing - funny how that happens. Long may it continue!

It's about getting to your seat early for the Remembrance game so you don't need to get others moving to let you get to your seat during the silence and its preamble.
    It's a thing called respect.

I live beside the war memorial to the merchant navy, which is effectively my front garden. We all gather there for 11am on Armistice Day, wearing our poppies. It must be a terrible thing, perhaps below deck at sea, when torpedoed and the freezing water rushing in, in the darkness. Later in the day yesterday, I had to go into the West End and I was struck that hardly anyone in London was wearing a poppy. I think it's important that the poppy, just as other symbols like the flag, are cherished by everyone, precisely so they do not become "owned" in some way by extremists.
I get the white poppy for peace thing, but the money from red poppies goes to the Royal British Legion which supports military veterans. My take is that service personnel are often treated appallingly and need our support. They have lived through terrible things that no one should have to, and then are expected to assimilate back into ordinary society - no wonder many have problems. Also, they are sometimes unscrupulously recruited from poorer communities where the only opportunity of social mobility and escape, is to join the services. We probably all hate the politicians who send other people's children off to fight and die in wars, but wouldn't dream of letting their own kids near any danger. But I would say, don't use that as an excuse not to buy a poppy to support those who did go.
Yes it should never be compelled and there should never be peer pressure to make people feel they must comply, but I'm just giving some reasons why I think it's important.
