If you trust David Clowes and he wants Pearce around, then what is there to moan about?
Mel Morris made every decision, that seems to be the accepted wisdom, so what do we think Pearces responsibility in our troubles was?
Let's just get on with becoming a successful club again, and if that is with Pearce involved, then great, I couldn't care less.

Not telling at all. Who in their right minds, regardless of what has gone on before, would queue to have their photo taken with the finance guy when the owner, two players and the manager were there?

No, his style is not for me, tbh, Curtains.
But I listened to him and thought about what he said.
Whether I like him personally or not isn't important,  it's what he can get the team to produce on a football field that is.

    I disagree.
He had made his statement at the beginning of the Forum and he must be very cautious about stating anything that would cause legal trouble for the Club.
There are a certain section of the fanbase that will never move on from using him as the scapegoat and are just looking to criticise him at every opportunity. It says more about them than it does about Pearce to be honest.

All very sensible and well conveyed points. As I said, I'm probably in a slightly grumpy mood.
I think it's the disconnect I perceive between Warne and the rest of the club at the moment (or at least what I would want the rest of the club to look like)
I'm sure I've made this point before in my more whiney posts but my fave managers of the last 15 years were Clough and the small insight we got into Rosenior's philosophy. Something about the way they spoke and approached their roles made me think they were at one with the club, understood what made it tick and wanted to build something from the ground up. I really bought into what they said and how they went about it.
I just don't genuinely feel that with Warne and if you don't have that in the first team manager, I don't know how much of the other stuff can come to fruition. It's about pathways to the first team, embedding a playing style from the youth teams up, integration with the community.
I just feel like we have Warne and the first team over here and the rest of the club over there. It's just a feeling and I have absolutely zero to back it up!
Jury is out on the recruitment team.
And for the record I'm not in the Warne out camp, I quite like the guy, I'm just struggling to make sense of the club at the moment and can't get that excited about where we're heading.

No reason in principle why not but a lot of things have to go right at the same time from player to manager (and that is NOT a comment about our current manager). And above all we would have to have a lot of luck going our way on everything from referees decisions to academy fruitfulness.
If there’s anything I worry about about David Clowes’ ownership is his relative wealth. He’s clearly a rich man by any stretch of imagination. Good for him.  But he isn’t football rich it seems to me even at championship level never mind PL level. When you have clubs effectively owned by countries rather than individuals then having a couple of hundred million isn’t enough, especially if you then want your club/business to be self sustainable.
There are reasons why very few (can’t name any but I presume there are some) football clubs are actually self sustainable and genuinely have income greater than expenditure. I doubt any in the PL actually are, nor the championship for that matter and so for us to get there requires someone to spend/gamble enough to make it possible or take a long time (and have a lot of patience). We’re not a club with a lot of patience from top to bottom as these pages often demonstrate.
I don’t know how many years of watching live football I have left.  I’ve done 60 or so. David Clowes’ relative financial weakness is a huge problem for football as a whole and is the result of FFP and TV plus feeble football administration. I live in hope that we will gain two promotions in the next 10 years or so and that I see it,  but I’m not expecting it. We certainly can’t win anything in the top league any more other than individual matches. I am just glad that I have lived through the golden age of football when football life was simpler, fairer and better. And we were good.

Correct! Wildsmith had to come charging out of his area because we were disorganised again after giving the ball away again.

doubting the referees honesty is a bit daft, his competence maybe.

…and yet we lost. We also gave away a penalty and had a player sent off because we didn’t have possession of the ball.
Blame the ref all you want, but if you keep the ball it doesn’t happen

A chance falls to a player on his wrong foot , headed chance for a player not great with his head v a good header of the ball , player clear through on goal who struggles with that kind of situation but his scoring prowess is much better in other areas ,it is so so so subjective ,
as I say it’s fine if you enjoy this stuff and it has SOME value in SOME areas but what we have here is posters posting this stuff as un arguable evidence the manager should be sacked and anybody who doesn’t agree and calls it for what it is just doesn’t understand , if you were to go with this stuff managers would be sacked every week ( as if it isn’t bad enough now ) and players would be lambasted and packed off to the reserves or drummed out every other game ,
its a human game played by humans who make mistake and equally are great over 90 minutes being treated like it’s a computer game , derby could win the next game , confidence rise ,player click and go on a 10 game run of wins as could pretty much most clubs in this division 🤷🏻‍♂️

The biggest statistical reason why Brighton are where they are is the £500, million that Tony Bloom has put into the club, mostly in loans.

We often employ that stupid diagonal hoof upfield from kick offs.  With about 6 players lined up down one side to run onto the ball.  Looks more like rugby than football and I don't think we ever retain possession.

Explain why the team has got gradually worse since Warne has been here then. Shouldn't it be the opposite? He's been here 51 games now, which is long enough to demonstrate some sort of progression.

    No.
Why is our expectation too high?
"Full minutes - SCG Meeting with David Clowes and Stephen Pearce 22.09.22
...Paul Warne brings experience and now is his time for a big job at a big club. Other clubs were after him, both those with and those without a manager currently. David Clowes liked how he treats players, and journalists, encouraging everyone to get the best out of themselves."
We have a budget good enough for promotion from this league and a squad with lots of Warnes chosen players in it. Although (again from those minutes) "With regards to the players we signed and his style, Paul is adaptable, but he was after some of our players in the summer. His teams are running teams and he is happy with the players he has."
So Warne was signed for his experience in League 1 promotion, we are a 'big club' and he has a squad he was/is happy with, that he has added to. He also has a good budget from the Clubs owner.
Why shouldn't our expectation be high?

I agree I think Warne is doing the easy things wrong...he is determined to play 5 at the back despite the players at his disposal...Last year he was forced into playing 4-4-2 and we went on a long winning run...but he still insists on trying the same thing. I am getting worried he is a one trick pony and doesn't have the nous, tactical knowledge or conviction to be in charge of a team like Derby...sad to say I have no confidence he can turn things around.
