NottsRam77 reacted to Eatonram in EFL appeal
Would it be to much to ask of our Auditors that they issue a statement along the lines of "We stand by our decision to sign-off the accounts of DCFC as both accurate and compliant with FRS 102"
I mean their professionalism and competency has been seriously called into question here.

NottsRam77 reacted to BramcoteRam84 in Statement from Mel?
I just want some assurance that as custodian of the club Mel isn’t going to walk away from his obligations until a credible buyer is found, and as a result I will still have my club to support.
I can take league 1, I can take another 10-20 years of the championship, i can even accept never being in the premier league again. I just want my team I’ve grown up supporting and along with my family the only link I have left with my home city, to still exist.
This horrific Covid season has made me appreciate this club a lot more and made me realise it isn’t all about promotion to the premier league, it’s about belonging.

Cool - can it also amortise players contracts in a creative way?

No VAT on wages, just Tax, N.I, Tax payable on Benefit in kind- medical, cars etc,
Corporation tax on Ltd entities but that would fall on the directors and if the business runs at a loss that wouldn't be relevant. I assume if there was any profit following the stadium sale and depending if that stadium was listed under a company their may be some element their, obviously depends how that was moved around. ?
There will be areas of VAT I'm sure but having never had any involvement with VAT someone else would know more than me to be honest.

We’ll probably yes .
I argued we should have kept Cocu party because of the cost of sacking him and it appears it was 8 Million !
This sack sack sack of managers has not helped us.

The article also talks about ongoing losses of x amount
haven’t we got only about 10 players registered to the club ?
ok not quite that but we must have a pretty low wage bill
look at forest for instance the have more centre midfielders on their books than we have registered players

To add to that,
I was going to say .. wasn’t it well documented a few years ago that we were debt free and only owed the mortgage on the stadium

HMRC are responsible for:
Income Tax, Corporation Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, Insurance Premium Tax, Stamp, Land and Petroleum Revenue Taxes
Environmental taxes
climate change and aggregates levy and landfill tax
Value Added Tax (VAT), including import VAT
Customs duty
Excise duties
National Insurance
Tax Credits
Child Benefit
Please don’t put this on Twitter, but my understanding is that we still owe duty on the importation of Albentosa, Camara and Jozwiak, and are massively in arrears on child benefit payments for Knight, Sibley, Buchanan and Bird. The biggest debt to HMRC though falls under the Climate Change Levy where Mel Morris has incurred the club significant fees for the over production of worthless hot air.

Got to agree with you there. I felt like the interview after the last game "things need to change from tonight" was him priming the narrative and telling the club that he needs resources or he is gone.
Can't blame him tbh, having less than half a squad of mostly youngsters and then probably being told you have to sell the best and probably only sigh cheap/free replacements doesn't sound like an ideal first management job ?

I'm no tax expert, but how can an organisation that loses money every year owe any income tax ?

Frannie Lee was fat and over the hill, Charlie George was just a diva and Gerry Daly the product of a good team round him.
I really know my stuff.

NottsRam77 reacted to JfR in What will our punishment be?
Should be noted that Sheffield Wednesday's 6 point (originally 12 point) penalty was for an £18m overspend during the three-year period in question, one that the club was aware of having committed. That would seem a far more serious P&S rule break than what Derby are accused of.

Fine of £200k, for filing technically non-complian (in the view of the LAP) accounts.
Warning over future conduct and instruction to bring accounting practices into line with usual practice for all future, but crucially, not an instruction to resumit past P&S statements based on the straight line ammotisation methodology.
The EFL argue that the decision of the appeal means Derby broke FFP limits, and that Derby should face a sanction in line with what the losses over FFP allowable losses would have been. Derby argue this is unfair, as they stated during the orginal hearing, had the policy and accounts not been accepted by the EFL, Derby would have acted differently, and thus the losses above FFP limits will be larger with no chance to retrospectvly change how they did things.
The panel find in DCFC's favor on the last point, and not points deduction is applied.
Engineering students then have to refer to steam tables in their thermodynamics text books to calcualte the pressure of the piss boiling inside Steve Gibson.
The EFL appeal the last part of the ruling.
On appeal, the club are issued with a 3 point deduction on the grounds the "they can't be seen to have got nothing"

Six point penalty, reduced to three on appeal. Plus Mel has to wash Gibson’s car every Sunday for 12 months.
