Yes she was really poor, as poor as the usual tripe we get. Way below the standards she set when she’s previously reffed us. Been on here saying she was the best ref we had last season.
She dished out 6 yellow cards in the first half hour!! And it wasn’t a dirty game! There’s no going back from that. The Sibley one was a joke. The NML wasn’t a yellow in my view, strikers tackle if you give one like that you give it later in the game not so early. She didn’t need to give the yellows to leahy and Collo, she didn’t give yellows twice in first half to Wycombe players when she should’ve done for bad tackles, once when she played advantage (rightly despite the boos) and should’ve gone back to book the Wycombe player. Bird Hourihane decisions spot on, penalty is a debatable one, soft decision but down to interpretation so some blame there but not much, and then what about where she accidentally blocked the Derby attack and gave Wycombe the f****** ball on the restart!! 🤬
The really big calls she might have got just about right but her management of the game was hopeless!!
Nml one was as blatent a yellow card as youll ever get 😂😂
rams tv were like … aaaaand he’ll go into the book for that no question .. 2 seconds later yellow card
nearly took the lads shin off lol

Why would you watch his interview to decide whether it was a penalty or not?
I'd prefer to watch the footage myself, which confirms what I thought at the time, the player was on his way to the floor before Ward was even close to him.
I didnt .. i already said what i thought, this just validated it
he probably was, im not saying it wasnt soft, Tb says ward clipped him? What else do u need to know ?
if it wasnt u think there wouldnt be a bit more moaning coming out of the manager and players ? -

We were bang average today and our game management was very poor, along with a slow tempo and not executing basic skills to a professional standard. But it’s 16 points from 18 so we can’t complain too much. The recruitment in the Jan Window is crucial to us gaining automatic promotion.

She did NOWT to address their timewasting or taking throwins or free kicks well beyond the actual position.
No she didnt… but shes not the first or last ref to not sort that out .. again at any level
im talking about the “big calls” in the game that we’re all talking about , the yellows, the pen , the not a pen etc

Very angry and frustrated tonight!! Genuinely thought we’d done it with a scrappy 1-0 when not at our best playing a team of anti-footballers, then the penalty, right in front of me, absolutely no way in my view, she looked at the Lino who didn’t give then pointed to the spot anyway. I agree with those saying it’s a 2023 penalty but I’d also say it’s one that VAR would give one week then not give it the next. It was extremely soft but then poor defending from Ward and not for the first time today.
As for Rebecca Welch, this is the third time she’s reffed us. She was excellent the first time, good the second, horrendous today. Managed the game really poorly making a rod for her own back with those early nonsensical yellow cards for Sibley and Mendez-Laing. The Collins Leahy (who is a proper Bamford by the way) handbags could’ve avoided 2 bookings easily, there were two challenges after then on Derby players which were stonewall yellow cards not given, ironically when the crowd shouted you don’t know what you’re doing after the Bird yellow, that decision was spot on, it was the poor decisions prior that contributed to ruining the game. The only time she was consistent was booking vokes for the same offence as Sibley, which then left her a problem when he booted a Derby player in the face, she could’ve easily sent Vokes off for two bookings but that would’ve been a bad call IMO. Genuinely thought she was a class act but take it all back after today, she’s as useless as the usual rabble of officials we get week in week out at this level. Definitely no worse, we’ve had worse refs this season.
Thought we tried to play today but the players weren’t quite at it. Wildsmith Cashin Ward Hourihane Sibley all below par. Ward I thought really struggled and I’m surprised he stayed on.
Still unbeaten in 6, we were never going to win 10-12 in a row which we would need to do to get the results we want over Christmas and New Year where maximum points will be really useful to us. A win on Thursday sets us up nicely for some tricky Christmas fixtures.
Im not having a pop or looking for an argument .. cos have had enough of that for one night
but just asking u genuinely, u say she was poor
but the nml one was as sure as day yellow, the CH one was also the same .. aka overran it and launched recklessly into the challenge and the sibley one was sibley being his usual reckless self.. so no complaints on her there.
birds obviously was too
the collins / their fella one probably could have avoided yellows but lets be honest anytime players do that at any level its always “here a yellow each, now feck off”
so its the pen, which tom barks has already said in interview “wardy got caught the wrong side and clipped him” and the nml where the defender played the ball and caught him on the follow through which shaun barker and rams tv didnt think it was either
i dont think she did a lot wrong tbh, our players though … good grief
I didnt think we warranted more than a point but goes without saying gutted to not have walked away with more
But onwards and upwards

Who played the ball NML? I saw him play the ball but surely it’s late challenge which would be given anywhere else on the pitch.
From what i saw The defender played the ball .. hence why it spead off to the edge of the box, then Caught nml
rams tv and shaun barker had no complaints either and unless iv missed it it wasnt brought up in the presser afterwards by PW or TB
thats my clue 🤷

Right the penalty...imo the ref has a clear view but to far away to be sure...altho she was sure as she gave a pen, There's a flick on and the player is in front of Ward, Has Ward touched the player...hhmmm, Has the player been cute enough to get his foot to collide with Ward...hhmmm.
This is a 2023 penalty where players now know what to do, We see it all the time, It's down to the ref to decide...a tough call as the angle looks and I say looks like a pen, But we've seen angles where the camara can deceive
https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/13032134/derby-1-1-wycombe-league-one-highlights
Watch the tommy barks interview … its a pen
And yes the players bought it .. but doesnt stop it being a pen.. as soft as hell as it is
he felt contact, he when down.. welcome to football in 2023 people

Worth noting that both NML and Wilson were in dreadful positions to receive the football on the left hand side as it’s just unnatural for them to be over there
I get u, but doesnt stop him finding a white shirt in some capacity .. im not hating on foz , we know he’ll be back to his reliable best next game but today his radar was well off

Wildsmith - nothing much to do
ward - not the best right back, always a decent cross
Nelson - very good
Cashin - excellent until we changed shape again
Forsyth - was doing fine, no idea why he got subbed
Hourahan - not a game for a decent midfielder
Bird - same as above
Sibley - close to getting sent off in the most silly of ways
NML - always our most creative player another assist
Wilson - he must have the worst touch I have seen in a long time because everything bounces off him and I am not sure how he is starting games
Collins - hardly any service and then disappears trying to find the ball
subs - Fornah - this guy is yet another defensive midfielder isn’t he as everything is backwards and sideways with hardly any tackling or heading and little running - you could say I am disappointed in him.
Barkhauzen - nice goal and I don’t know why he isn’t starting ( yes I do it’s to fit in either ward or Wilson and move NML away from his best position)
Bradley - I would have stuck him on at half time at centre forward just to give their centre half’s something to do
JJ - didn’t have a sniff at anything
Seriously ?? Fozzys pass completion being -9 might have had something to do with it
he was awful today… fortunately we know he only has a couple of these stinkers a season so thats one down

The ref wasn’t as bad as many are making out, peno decision aside. She made some mistakes but was fine for most of it.
However we were dreadful and although it wasn’t a pen, we deserved to lose those two points with such a shoddy half hearted performance.
Nelson was MoM and Barks was the first player to take up a decent position for a cross into the box. Other than that there are very few positives.
On the above point, that’s the second game in a row we’ve put plenty of decent crosses into the box but no one gets into a dangerous position.
If we are to persist with this then we really need a striker who knows where to be and take advantage, because there’s plenty of decent crosses, as opposed to earlier in the season.
Some just have to have a scapegoat pal.
normally its warne, but weve not lost in however long so its just easier to blame the ref

Having an opinion doesn't make you wrong does it.
8 of us here have just watched the penalty decision, 2 think it was and 6 think it wasn't.
Was refering to geescreamer about our bookings so maybe hes wrong as well and our resident uriah rennie is nailed nailed on with it … but i doubt it
barks .. former pro didnt have any complaints with any of them either
pen.. its soft as … i get why people say its not but it just is in todays game
crap i know
my issue is how we got to that stage
cheap turnover of the ball (again)
lost the flick on, got caught wrong side
literally summarised todays performance in about 20 seconds

Apart from the bit where it was a massive dive and she’s fell for it, again.
There was contact …absolute minimal and he played for it obvs but in todays game its a pen .. blindside of defender, at pace .. pen given .. shock f****** horror
not telling me uv not seen 100 of those given ? As soft as it was

From where I sat, in my opinion the referee and officials got every single decision spot on.
We got what we deserved - a point.
@Gee SCREAMER !! maybe this guy needs specs too ??
Oh youll need to find a pair for former professional footballer shaun barker off rams tv too fyi

Poor control for at least two bookings. As frustrating as it was I would say the bookings were correct. I do think if she gave the Wycombe penalty then I reckon NML was tripped up.
He played the ball first.. the ball shot off middle of the goal before nml went down
Their pen, todays game… its just a f****** pen end of , soft as f*** but its pen simple as

It wasn't even close to being a penalty.
Todays game pal its a stone wall
any contact in the box at pace its a pen
var would have given it.. so in todays game its a pen .. do i think it is .. no , not a f****** chance
but tbh im asking questions about everything we did that lead to it
so preventable

Ill be honest i didnt think they deserved to lose it either.
we were ok , but god dam our collective defending is poor… some terribke decision making… love to know why fozzy was where he was for their first
got to give posh credit … they just keep finding young, pacey , strong and talented attacking players … on that note
i said it start of the season.. but what does sibley bring to the table
if we could swap him and barks for two of their attacking players wed be strumming this league by now
we couldnt handle them , always a threat always a menace. Thats what good attacking players look like
Those players are out there we have to look harder and smarter
do think theres something about John jules … just needs some fine tuning and learn to stay on his feet a bit more .. but theres definitely some talent there
