I have just heard that the referee has awarded a penalty already so the first kick of the game will be an Exeter penalty not a centre kick. No one is sure why but apparently the linesman spotted something.

Maybe nobody yet but the negativity around the forum in some quarters is baffling. A couple of bad results and the knives will be being sharpened.

I think Warne is under pressure already. I’d go as far to say he needs to win the next three games to relieve some of that pressure.
It’s entirely predictable. A large section of our fanbase will never accept Warne purely because what he’s trying to do doesn’t match up with their ideals.
I don’t really understand the outrage. In the league, we have won two reasonably comfortably and could have had another four points if not for some significant individual mistakes.
The Ipswich performance? Well, 6-7 players had an off night and lost their individual battles and so we lost the game. Make no mistake, it was a terrible watch. However we have had those games under all managers we have had, irrespective of style or level of success.
Personally I can see the good and the bad with what Warne is trying to do. I can see more joy on the way but I can also see more hiccups. Tomorrow night being one of them, potentially. Exeter are a dangerous side.
By Christmas, I think and hope we’ll be in the top six and things will be looking up. Warne simply needs some time and patience while he figures things out, irons out problems, and finally makes his mark.
Will the fanbase give him the time and patience he needs? Not likely. Sad to say, this could get toxic very quickly.

"Stats don't lie", but they can be presented in a way that distorts the discussion. Like failing to point out that if we win our games in hand we'll be in the top 6, even if other teams in the top half win theirs too.
I'm a little bit amazed that critics are placing allot of emphasis on the Pizza Trophy losses. Is that perhaps because it's harder to make their case using League games alone? Two fairly commanding away victories at the type of club DCFC traditionally struggle against, one home defeat facilitated in part by a red card and some dubious officiating and another away to a top 2 side who should have been reduced to 10 men before the mistake that gifted the opposition the points. It's hardly the disaster that some are painting it as.
I felt Rosenior deserved more time but now we've got a new manager on a 4 year contract and he definitely deserves more patience than some are showing.

The team's performances have been hit and miss under both managers. It shouldn't be a great surprise to anyone, because both managers wanted/want the team to play in systems that don't suit all players. If Rosenior had stayed, he'd have needed additional players to make the team function consistently well. Different type of players required, but Warne's needs are no different. Should he compromise his style until he gets the players he needs, or press ahead in the belief that the squad are talented and motivated enough to adapt, that's the question? Personally, I think the latter, but you can't mitigate for individual errors, poor passes, miscontrol, overhit crosses etc, as we had against Ipswich.

I think we need to take a step back and look at what we have, asking to play a back 4 when 90% of people were screaming for us to recruit a RB in the summer....
    Guess what - we don't have 1....
Play 2 CH's which in this division needs pace which with the 5 on the books only Roberts has, and he's inexperienced and plays the same side as Cashin. By necessity we need 3 to make up for lack of pace in the middle.
Also 4 at the back needs a quality holding midfielder....
Guess what - we don't have 1.... (don't say Bielik)
Then LB... what do we do, play an inexperienced CH in Roberts there or Fozzie  another one 90% slag off continually....
Yeah 4 at the back is the answer.

I also think there are some very short memories,  goal kicks in the 6 yrd box, pointless possession in our own 3rd, we would have been slaughtered last night playing that way, as shown with the goal, 3 players were on that press instantly, hence the rebound was always likely to fall to one of them, we looked ok passing the ball ponderous across the back when we weren't under pressure, and never creates chances as too slow getting forwards.
    Give it chance fgs

People are kidding themselves if they think that tonight would have been any better under Rosenior.
The truth is that it was a poor game that was won and lost on individual battles, not tactics or style of play. On another day we might have ground out a 0-0 and moved on to the next.
Ipswich are the quintessential League 1 team. They are capable of mixing it up. They know when to play and when to scrap and they demonstrated this to reasonable effect tonight. They have a blend of physicality, bite, power, athleticism, size and speed that allows them to be highly competitive, but in real terms, they only scored through an absolute gift.
For us, it’s still a time of discovery and understanding what we can do and what we cannot in the current parameters. Warne didn’t cover himself in glory tonight and that performance will have certainly fanned the flames of discontent. However he’s learning about these players all the time and tonight will have told him a lot.
Bird and Sibley never got going. Osula and Dobbin barely got a sniff. We are hugely reliant on young players and in truth, we needed all of them to be on it to win tonight and all four of them got comfortably dealt with in their match ups. It will likely happen again in the weeks and months ahead if we choose to count on them.
Wildsmith, Cashin, Chester and Smith were all solid, but it matters little when the other seven miss the mark so greatly. Mendez-Laing and Barkhuizen offered no quality or composure, a problem that was rampant across the team and ultimately magnified with Davies who made the match-turning mistake.
What worries me is that for everyone saying we should be a footballing side, there was little evidence of anything that is synonymous with a footballing side. That doesn’t disappear in the space of 4-5 weeks. You either have it or you don’t.
What we might have to come to terms with is that this squad doesn’t really suit any particular style and that in fact, many of them are not as good as we build them up to be.

Am sorry but unless you were watching a different game last night Ipswich didn't look like scoring until we contrived to gift them a goal which they scored with and the inevitable penalty which they didn't.
Ergo they were also crap as well by your same reasoning.
