Is breakdancing really an olympic sport? Or golf for that matter.

Pheidippides completed his marathon run, reversed his cap and put on a right royal show.

Haha yeah I posted that last night looks like its been scrubbed, the IOC are removing its existence from t'internet to avoid further embarrassment 😛

I actually saw a clip of the winner today, maybe I'm getting old but it still looks stupid.  Whoever thought breakdancing is an Olympic sport should see a doctor or a therapist or something.  I keep expecting someone to run on the stage and try to perform the Heimlich manoeuvre on the contestants!

Pity the IOC are not removing the cringeworthy open ceremony from the internet.

This is the first time ever I have not watched any live sporting events at the Olympics just the highlights.

The USA messing the 4x100metres relay was great for us to win the Bronze.

The Ladies went one better winning silver, thoroughly enjoyed both races.

No TV licence, so no Olympics.  I've seen a few clips on X but tbh other than the London Games I've never really been that bothered about them.

I did unfortunately see the opening ceremony and subsequent apology however.  Regardless of what they were hoping to achieve compared to previous opening ceremonies that show off the hosting country brilliantly, it was just all a bit sad and pathetic.

How did this guy get anywhere near the Olympics? He’s got some talent, but no more than a 50 year old dad at a wedding after a few too many, breaking out some of the moves that wowed all the girls in the 80s.

i had high hopes for break dancing, cos when you see it in britains got talent, there’s some really impressive athleticism, and it can look great.

but what the f*** is this, seriously?!

The Olympics is mostly about the Athletics for me. Was able to watch all the evening coverage and there were some amazing action.

The men's 100m, 400m and 1500m were all incredible races.

Women's 1500m last night was incredible too.

Still can't get over how quick the women's 400m hurdles was. She would have just missed out on qualification for the 400m final with that time.

Some great relays too, thought mixed relay is a great idea. How good/dodgy must the Soviet 4x400 have been to be able to run faster than that American team last night.

Some good field action too. India vs Pakistan javelin was unexpected.

Apart from the odd superstar athlete who is a bit full of themselves, most the athletes are pretty normal and down to earth. Whilst their performances are totally professional, their open and honest interviews are refreshingly amateur.

Really enjoyed the coverage too. Gaby Logan is an excellent presenter. Michael Johnson is maybe the best pundit in any sport. Denise Lewis is brilliant too and she is 51, not 31! Jess Enis is ok, probably not needed as already a heptathlete there, but she does a reasonable job. Always liked Cram, a worthy successor to the legendary Brendan Foster.

Get ready for some late nights in LA.
