Promising stuff going forward but shaky at the back - particularly in goal. I’d much rather it be that way around at this stage - we had the best defence in the league last year on every metric, so you’d hope we’ll firm the defence up before the real football starts. And there’s a new keeper joining. I’ve been more concerned about our ability to put the ball in the goal ahead of this season, but tonight calmed those concerns somewhat. Need that keeper in, need depth at cb. Work to do but despite the result tonight was better in my opinion. A base level of competence should be expected, but hadn't been delivered this far. Warne can't be happy. It’s not irrelevant, never has been, but also it shouldn’t be used as the yard stick for measuring how an entire season will play out when there’s still time to improve and still time to make additions. Looked a lot more like it until the game became a playground one. Yes still work to do but that last 30 mins doesn’t happen if mass changes aren’t made.
