It doesn’t automatically make moving on from Rosenior a mistake. That's the whole point. He applied for the job, was considered and then lost out to a 'promotion specialist'. Only now the specialist needs more time and more of 'his' players even though we were told he was 'adaptable and happy with the squad' last season. FWIW I think Warne's version of the 'rock on Warney' meeting is a bit flowery. I suspect it was a fairly standard 'how are the season targets going' and 'how can we help you meet them' type of meeting. Although I'm not impressed that it happened at Clowes' house. I’ve had to say this many times, I’m not specifically “pro-Warne”, I’m just accepting of the fact he’s the manager for now and am willing to wait it out until either it improves or he’s removed. I might enjoy the football less but I’m still happy enough to stick with it, knowing I’m not paying out the time and money many are to attend in person due to my own circumstances. Agreed, but on top of that, you want to see signs that we're building something. If we'd given decent minutes to the likes of Thompson, Robinson, Brown, Rooney even, and signed a few more players like Fornah and Wilson, you'd be willing to tolerate a season or 2 extra in League One. Then you go up with those guys all hitting the 20-25 year old range, they should mostly be good enough to step up, and you don't need a massive rebuild. Ram-Alf Posted October 31, 2023 Share Posted October 31, 2023 I've taken notice of what Comrade 86 posted concerning the pay off for PW and Co if sacked, I've just got off the phone with my Daughter(HMRC)and asked what would the response be if DCFC would pay-out circa £2m + on paying off their contracts, Her response was altho DCFC are under an agreed payment plan with HMRC who will be looking/advising DCFC on their HMRC matters and still under restrictions with the EFL...a strongly worded letter would be sent to PP forth width...depending if anyone at HMRC headquarters are at work and not at home 😁 Comrade 86 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I also seem to recall fans spitting feathers about how abysmal Rosenior's Derby were when playing away from Pride Park. IN the current situation, I'm thinking the reason Warne is still manager is Derby are well-placed in the league. 5 points off a play off place and 8 points off 2nd place. With 96 points to play for. Whilst the football is not brilliant, we are still winning games (won 6, lost 5). Many experts would state that winning ugly, and when not playing well is a positive thing, and gives room for improvement. I think we were 7th on the back of short pre season with an injured Mcgoldrick I don't recall any 'spitting feathers'. I do recall frustration at missed chances. It's still paying money money for nothing, but the big number is amortised over years rather than being a big blob. Then according to others posting currently about it, he was offered another position, or he wasn't offered another position as there was no place with Warne. So he left. I only mentioned my dad’s situation to illustrate how important the club is to people like me in terms of providing a complete distraction from day to day stuff and how the club needs to be careful not to lose a chunk of the fanbase through sticking with someone whose football is so unenjoyable. I know we all just want the best for the club so the divide between the Warne in/out camps is really sad.
