Last season’s squad was small and it was made up of players that were borderline unusable too, so if it’s similar sized with all of them legitimate choices it will feel a lot better. It would be a bit of a gamble, but if you've also got Collins and perhaps one other more experienced striker in there, I think we can afford to do so. At 26 you'd have to say this is his prime, so it's now or never. Scoring 40+ goals is impressive and if we can create enough chances there's no seeing why he wouldn't be able to manage the jump up. Bloke at work who has seen him a lot says he relies on pace in the 6 yard box to get most of his goals . Not as easy in this league. I don’t mind a fox in the box forward as long as he has someone to feed off. Loads of balls flashed across the box last season and we had little presence to latch onto them. McGoldrick was often instrumental in setting up attacks and couldn’t then get in the box to finish them. He scored some crackers from outside the box though.
