Even Bogle was a bench player for a long time in the Premier League. Williams looked class, and wasn’t surprised we got picked off by Chelsea. Still think he will have a good career. Many thanks. Makes you wonder how much convincing he needed. To be fair to Wayne, without being a party to the conversation I would imagine he told him it was a great opportunity. Something you’d expect all honest and decent managers of lower league clubs to say. I somehow doubt him and his family were begging Wayne to let him stay at Derby. Wasn’t it the case that he was out of contract in the summer and we couldn't offer him a new contract because of EFL restrictions, so selling him in January was the only way we'd have got any real value for him? Of course, it's always the player's decision these days, and we couldn't offer them any guarantees about their futures, but it sounds like both Williams and Kellyman were "encouraged" to take the opportunity and, undoubtedly, the fees received for both helped to pay the wages, so perhaps Quantuma asked Rooney to assist in helping them make that decision? cstand 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
